Just bought Donkey another year of European unlimited mileage warranty. Cost just shy of $300. :(

After the *less than bright* owner of a Mercedes Benz who pulled right in front of me yesterday, I thought the Kid deserved a good bath... If the oncoming lane wasn't free of traffic, I wouldn't be worried about washing - I'd be extracting my bonnet from his front seat...

Good thing it's a MINI and not something wayward like a Camaro.

Molly and her Little Brother Smaug both got baths Today. Molly got some much needed interior attention, rubbed it all down with 303, Griot's Window Cleaner makes that glass sparkle now!!

Installed my new Dinan CAI

Nice...finally took an afternoon off and got to install my Dinan CAI in my '05 MCS, did a quick reset of the ecu and went out for a 25 mile rip-snorting good drive up and down my favorite twisty road.

Definite improvement in throttle response, or at least it feels that way! Install was very easy, though there is a bit of cutting involved it went off without a hitch. Noise level at cruise is almost unchanged, which is what I wanted, but when you put your boot into it you get plenty more whine...nice, nice!

Next up is the WMW 15% pulley kit..and then I think I am going to have to look at the control arm bushings...can hears a new hiss coming down over bumps at speed down towards the dead-pedal.might be the strut getting old, we'll see....they are at 45K miles so it's aboot time.

I got some silicone spray-lube at the store, and used it--along with some paper towels to wipe off the old lubricant, dust, dirt, etc.--to get rid of the binding/squeak in the moonroof. I was afraid to use the PB Blaster I already had around, since there are some plastic parts that it might not get along with, and its residue might attract dirt, dust, etc. to the moving parts....

Also put in a few blocks of self-adhesive foam, strategically-placed to stop the little spoiler flaps from rattling when the moonroof's only got the back popped up.

Now if I could just find that creak/rattle in the back hatch....

C ya,
Dutch

Well I took the Roto 17s RBs off today with e summer rubber, Put the Sport Edition F7s that I painted Black Chrome on the car. Not sure if I like the look or so yet, but they can always be re painted.

Finally got around to cleaning my rims.

Those pre-moistened Armor-All "diaper wipes" cleaning cloths work surprisingly well at loosening brake dust and road grime (far better than the "foaming brush" at the self-serv car wash) and they act as a tack cloth too, so they carry the dust away from the wheels pretty nicely. Hopefully they don't leave behind a residue that will re-stick dirt. I wiped behind them with a clean towel just in case....

In a month, I will be able to use the "right" stuff (have it in my storage closet) to clean the wheels. But, for now, while I'm still at the apartment, the Armor-All thingies will have to do. Looks a *lot* better now....

C ya,
Dutch

I finally got Sirius streaming into my speakers! I also washed her, applied a coat of Zaino, and applied 303 to the dash, black trim below the windshield, and trim inside the doors. So sparkly that even a mom putting her crying kid into an SUV complimented me on the beautiful shine.

I am glad you escaped with no injuries or damages, wish I was that lucky. Take a look at this thread and pics in my gallery.

Sadly I have done nothing in my MINI today. I have broken my left leg(about 2 weeks ago) so I can't drive it due to the clutch. My dad gets to enjoy Chip for at least the next 3 weeks and I get an abused Honda CRV! The bf had if for the first week and I was worried about my MINI everyday. He has a long commute and a lead foot.

I hope this recovery is quick so I can get back to driving!

I dropped off my MINI to have Integral Audio's "Soundstage" upgrade installed (replacing existing speakers). Who's happier than me?

In the last week I had Motoring Magic in Thousand Oaks install a new clutch, bearing, pressure plate, and single mass flywheel to replace the much-maligned dual mass flywheel that has caused problems for other owners. It only took me 117,000 miles to need another set so I can live with that.

Clay Bar, polish, and a coat of wax and she is happily running better than new again.

Put on a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus's in 215/45 ZR17 XL, scrubbed them in and will shortly leave on a club double run. You know it's gonna be a good day when you start off setting tire pressures with your first cup of coffee. Off to the mountains!!
