Just an FYI - there is no such thing as too new on the Daten side of things. There's only an issue if your car's Datens are newer than the software Datens.

Theta, just tried to use the 46.3 to code a 2013 JCW...still no luck. I know you said that the files would most likely be in 47.1 but thought I'd give it a shot anyways. Any word on when we may see that release?

Mark Gallo, esse.erre and others with cable issues. After a lot of recent confusion around the eBay cables not working, I have recently purchased a handful of the cheap eBay cables with the WHITE BOARDS, STRICTLY FOR TESTING. Here are my results:

-I ordered from different sellers (each ranging from $25-$35)
-They all came with white boards (I did not know this until after they arrived)
-They all came with Pins 7&8 soldered together, which I unsoldered)
-They all were advertised to work on DCAN vehicles (after 2007, etc)
-NONE OF THEM WORK, PERIOD. THEY ONLY WORK ON K-LINE VEHICLES BEFORE 2007!!

Please contact your sellers immediately and return them because no matter what you do, you will not get them to work.

Additionally, I have purchased multiple $99 cables from one stop electronics that all have Green Boards and work very well. They even come with a plug in adaptor to work with K-Line vehicles if you ever need to.

Lastly, I will note that a few months back I purchased a clear color $50 eBay cable that did work out of the box on DCAN vehicles. The seller was from Toronto. I can't remember the color of the board inside as I have since passed that cable along.

Very nicely said - the recent changes that brought the prices on these cables down really screwed things up.

When I bought my clear cable, it was still in the $90 range. They have changed the internals now - it seems to make them cheaper, but they no longer work.

Please heed TRIPLE_O's instructions!

The "Toronto" cable has a green PC board and works flawlessly!

TRIPLE_O and other people great job! You are a great team!
Following this issue, I propose to everybody owns a good working cable to post which is the supplier. (... of course without any responsibility ...).
This just for having a way to follow in case of the purchasing.

Let us know please. Where did you buy them from (links)? Also make sure you're using updated coding files so you can rule out any file issues if you run into connection problems.

I emailed every seller on eBay. Only one person said they have the green circuit board. The seller is adgogogo.

Still waiting for my mini to be shipped. Maybe a month more before I can test the cables.

Thank you. I contacted the seller and will try to order one or two some time next week when I get back from Chicago to test them as well. I'll probably have them sent via DHL or Fedex because I cannot wait 3 weeks for anything!! haha. We'll see what kind of price they can work out, it's usually not too bad cost wise.

Thumbs up Thanks

It is great to be here, here you kind guys provide packaged software, provide newest datens, provide detail instructions and answers. Those are all time consuming.

I appreciated your contributions

Decided to order DCAN cable and try it on my new countryman copper s all4 which is produced in 09/12.

I believe I will ask some questions later, as newbies.

Mike from China.

By the way, forgot to post an update on this, but I'm having Triple_O test the newest datens on the '13 JCWs as we speak.

Should be able to tap into anything out there.

Eww, good question. I'll look at the files, but Triple_O is more familiar with converting the Euro options as evidenced by some of his earlier posts.

It's of course possible that it's a hardware limitation in the USA models, but I'll do some checking in the code side and the wiring diagram if that goes nowhere. I'll let you know what I find.

Part of my BMW subscription. They'd get pretty pissy if I put that stuff online. We're barely skating by with the datens.

Ahh, that explains it. I was looking in the manuals. Found a reference to it in a UK manual for the R56 for 2008.
