Module is CAS. And it works perfectly!

I am working on xenon intensity and other things, as soon as I have more info.

I found a high beam assistant if I activate it appears in the Car Settings but I do not know what it is...

I trust you, but there is some liability in putting it on the front page before having other users test it out. If nothing else, I'll test it this weekend.

Looking forward to seeing what else you find!

So we're looking at:

CAS Module

SONDERTASTE_PANIKALARM
nicht_aktiv

changed to

SONDERTASTE_PANIKALARM
panikalarm

Yes, sure I understand. I have the alarm module installed so I do not know if it works on every car.

I confirm!

I discovered a new interesting feature we can activate on our MINI. Do you want an acoustic signal when you lock/unlock the car? Easy.

SPEG module:

QUIT_OPT_ENTSCH
aktiv
QUIT_OPT_SCHAERF_KLAPPE
aktiv
PIAU_OPT_SCHAERF
aktiv
QUIT_OPT_SCHAERF
aktiv
DEF_QUIT_OPT_SCHAERF
aktiv
QUIT_AKUST_ENTSCH
aktiv
DEF_QUIT_AKUST_SCHAERF_KL
aktiv
QUIT_AKUST_SCHAERF
aktiv
DEF_QUIT_AKUST_ENTSCH
aktiv
DEF_QUIT_AKUST_SCHAERF
aktiv
PIAU_AKUST_SCHAERF_KLAPPE
aktiv
PIAU_AKUST_ENTSCH
aktiv
PIAU_AKUST_SCHAERF
aktiv
QUIT_AKUST_SCHAERF_KLAPPE
aktiv
ALARM_OPT_FERNLICHT
aktiv
SIGNAL_HK
aktiv

This worked like a charm.

I need help for another thing. I want to use high beam lights as welcome lights, now I have only fog lights. But I can't find the right value to put it here:

Module FRM:
High beam lights:

WL_FL
nicht_aktiv
if changed to akvit or wert_01 or soft_einschalten it doesnt work. we must find the right value/status

License plate lights: this work.
WL_KZL
soft_einschalten

Please help! thank you.

The acoustic confirmation is only for vehicles with the alarm package installed.

Sadly, several of those options will only work on cars with the alarm package installed.

As for the previous one we were discussing, that also requires the alarm package, I believe. I will test and confirm, though.

As for the lighting and welcome lights, that's available on all of our cars - good stuff there. low beams and high beams on with welcome will not work on Xenon cars by design. I have been told that normal headlights will work with the welcome options, though.

yes, I have the alarm package installed. But the acoustic confirmation and panik alarm were disabled. isnt it in USA?

I will play with welcome lights tomorrow, it looks promising.

Do you think is there any chance to fold the side mirrors automatically when locking the car?

Some of this has been covered in the thread already with the powerfolds, etc. It hasn't been able to be done as of yet.

As for the acoustic and panic, that's only for alarm packages, and is enabled by default on US cars with that package installed.

I managed to have side lights, break lights, fog lights as welcome lights when I unlock. But I can't set the low beam or high beam lights... do you have it in USA cars? Thanks.

Nope, it was a stroke of luck. i managed to project an iphone GPS apps (Waze) on the screen. And it's repeatable.

All you have to do was play video and launch the app. I tried other apps like youtube but couldnt work. For some reason, this does... some weird bug. i hope this opens up new possibilities now. so exciting...

Btw, you will need 3G network to use it. Please let me know if you could get it to work. Or if any other apps work as well. Thanks.

So you activate video in motion, then turn on a video. Go to your iphone and launch the GPS app? (Btw, I assume your phone is connected with the y adapter or just bluetooth at this point?).

Yep! As simple as that! Amazing discovery right? And i could even listen to music and enjoy the nav voice guidance at the same time.

I'm connected with the y adapter and i have the Visual Boost only. Bluetooth only works with phone functions for me.

I'm not a iphone app expert, but whatever coding 'Wave' programmer did, it certainly works.

Interesting find, Raymond! That's neat that you got it to work without even having Mini Connected!

Need help again

So i finally got a hold of a Windows PC thats 32 bit but running Windows 7 Enterprise.

I start to give coding a shot again and now this PC won't install the D-CAN cable drivers.

When i right click d-can in device manager and hit update drivers then point it to the extracted drivers folder this is the error i get.

Uploaded with ImageShack.us

I installed windows xp mode virtual pc but when i go to the device manager in virtual pc the d-can cable wont show up there...

not sure what i am doing wrong?

I think it won't show up unless you're plugged on to it with your engine running. I couldn't find it on my device manager as well after the first time, but no problem when plugged in.

As for the access denied problem, my guess is that you may not have administrator right. But I'm not really sure though.

hi guys,

I know that with BMW cars you can code them to change xenon light intensity. Do you think we can do the same with our mini?

I think you may be a bit confused with the previous BMW coding for HID "intensity", as you call it.

There is no fundamental way to overvolt or change the Xenon system in any car, so the intensity of the bulb can not possibly change. What earlier BMW owners were trying to do was enable the flash-to-pass feature, essentially enabling Bi-Xenon functionality.

All modern Minis with HID lights offer Bi-Xenon flash-to-pass, ergo there is no reason or need to attempt to code it.

If you're looking for different light intensity, you can always replace the bulbs with a different Kelvin rating, or even go with a 55w filament if you're brave.

I dont think to be confused at all:

For BMW we have in module FRM:

Daytime Running Light (DRL) Brightness in %

HELLIGKEIT_DRL
wert_01__100% / wert_02__50% / wert_03__54% / wert_04__80% / wert_05__51%
wert_01__100% / Werte=64

High Beam Brightness in % -

HELLIGKEIT_FL_BIXENON NSW_AUS_BEI_FL
nicht_aktiv / Werte=00 aktiv / Werte=01
wert_01 / Werte=64 aktiv

----
So my question still stands, if it is possible for BMW maybe it is also for MINI.

The DRL is a moot point in the USA, as the Xenon kits do not have this feature. It's not mandated here as it is in other countries.

As an electrical engineer, I can assure you that the current-gen HID system on the R60 is not able to be over-driven. You can, however, move to higher wattage bulbs and manually over-drive the system if you wish to do so.

So, you may be able to find a setting referencing the chance in previous models, but you shouldn't find it in the R60 coding (or R56+ for that matter).

The bulb is simply burning away at 35W constant, and the solenoid controls which position the shutter is in: down for low, up for high beam. With auto-leveling beams, there is no need for altering brightness (not to be confused with intensity).

DOES NOT WORK AT ALL. I tested several times. Why is it in the first post?

this one works very good but it is not included in the first post:
CAS Module

SONDERTASTE_PANIKALARM
nicht_aktiv

changed to

SONDERTASTE_PANIKALARM
panikalarm

Mauro, you need to understand a few things about this post - we're referencing US programming here. There are fundamental differences in the region coding.

I appreciate you pointing out issues, but I've gone over this a few times now - several of your settings are specific to your region and/or features.

The Panic Alarm function is only for cars with the Alarm Package. Hence, it will not be on the front page, as it does not apply to all vehicles. Additionally, the setting is enabled from the factory on US models.

ok, I am not expert about the electrical stuff involved. Just noted that in other forums about BMW cars they talk about this...

Also, please consider that many people here read this forum but they live in other countries. thank you.

Yes, but my discovery is a big one and it should be public. Other people may benefit form this. I know several people reading this forum but they live in europe or asia, I think they need this info. You can specify if it is true that panic alarm is working only if you have the alarm package. BTW, are you sure, did you check it?
