couper1,

Quite simply type in "bmw k+dcan cable" in the eBay search bar. Any of those clear-type cables with the K+DCAN white label will work. They're all the same hardware inside. DO NOT buy any blue or black cable - stick to only these.

Here is an example of that search on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=...p=15&_osacat=0

i have found this thread very informative and i plan on doing a bunch of coding mods, but have not see any mention of this:

with headlights OFF, can i set "flash to pass" (pull back on turnsignal stalk) to flash the fog lights instead of the xenons?

thanks

MD coder

Does anyone know somone in maryland who does this? I'm a mac person and thought if somone knows how to do this in 5 min, it might be easier than me borrowing someones pc, buying a cable, figuring out how to do it, and inevidabby messing up spending coutless hours falling out of love with my car.

Sorry I have been off this thread for a while, threar was mostly correct (but although it worked), you will want to follow this procedure: after you edit and save your man file and go back into NCS Expert,

1) hit F5 for basic functions and select "coapiReadSgGetFswPsw" and then hit "ok"
2) hit F2 and select SG_CODIEREN and then hit "ok"
3) hit F3 to execute job

Don't think it can be done, but post your FRM/NFRM file and I can see if there is an option in there for that.

Hey guys.. this guide worked perfectly for me - 2012 Canadian R60. Any chance we have a way of disabling the TPMS warnings? That was the main purposes for coding.. although the rest was pretty cool =)

Is there a way to code the fogs on without headlights? I know this was possible on my R53 with the FES module. Just curious. Thanks!!

Just turn the light stalk to the first click (running lights), then turn on the fog lights.

No coding required.

How dumb do I feel... Never tried that. I guessed I assumed it was the same as the R53.

Thanks

For some reason, I am getting the error that the NCS expert file is not compatible with the version of Windows I am running. I made the change to run the program with the Windows XP SP2 but still am having no luck. Any one else have this issue?

Thanks

Which OS are you using? If I understand correctly, you're setting compatibility mode w/ Windows XP SP2.

NCSExpert only runs on 32bit versions of Windows 7. Are you running x64?

Not unless you install a VM.

Virtual Machine. You can run a Windows XP virtual machine on your Windows 7 64 bit computer.

How would I go about doing that? Sounds pretty involved.

Way back in the thread we tried to help some users with this, but there's no simple answer. Here are your choices going from easiest to hardest:

1) Find an older Windows XP / Vista x86 or Win7 x86 laptop to use temporarily.
2) If you have Windows 7 x64 Pro, use the Virtual XP function built-in to run the program.
3) Use a tool like VMWare to create a virtual system (WinXP or Win7 x86).

I wish I could make it easier on you.

I was reading about that last night. To use the Windows VM tool, you have to have Windows Professional. It is not available for the home edition.
