GTECKO,

Thanks for the codes! I want to make my 2007 r56 non s, co-driver windows close with the one click function and also the digital speedometer to be the main tach display with the mpg/temp etc underneath it, just like in the new models.

Now I don't have any experience or anything like that in this coding dept whatsoever. Do you think the dealer will be able to do it for me? If not, what do you suggest I do :D

p.s, don't worry i didn't edit any of the spreadsheet file,

Anyone, please feel free to reply!

Another rear fog question...

I got the rear fog to work but only one side would turn on, I found out I had to rewrite a line to "both sides" to make it work.

Since, the dealer has reset all my modules. So, same problem only my driver's side rear fog would turn on. Only this time I do not remember where I changed that line. Anyone have a clue? I know I read it somewhere here on these forums but I cannot seem to find it again.

I have a 2011 S btw.

In the FRM module, the keyword is "NSL_EINSEITIG_VERBAUT_C34" and the value should be "beide_aktiv".

Did you reprogram your car with the rear fog option in the FA string? If the dealer does a reprogramming and you have written this to CAS and FRM, the rear fogs should not be reset.

Nice! Thank you!

I programed my car to turn on the rear fogs.
I took my car in for a brake service, they said they reset all modules. Not sure why my car defaults to the left side. Anyways, I got it to work.

What I have managed to miss in all this is how/where to get NCSexpert in the first place.

does anyone know about the feasibility of this stuff with a 2013? there are some small tweaks i'd love to make... if so, where can i find the very latest datens? it seems this is a good cable: http://www.ecutool.com/productshow.a...tsid=&sorts=#2

i just don't want to start buying cables and such and read that much in to everything if this isn't even possible on a 2013 MCS.... :-( thanks guys!

I recently entered the NCSExpert world and all of my coding has worked. I first made changes like "close windows with fob", and "1-touch windows up." Then I did a rear fog retro, and defaulted the CAS and FRM modules. At the ending of defaulting FRM, when NCS says "coding ended" the headlights turn on. I can only turn the off by pressing the Start button on the car.

Because I had to default, I had to redo the "1-touch up" setting in FRM. When it ended, headlights turned on again. During my initial change, the headlights never turned on. My question is, *if* the headlights turn on when coding ends, does that indicate some sort of problem? This only happens when I write to FRM.

BTW I have an R58 which is why 1-touch is different than an R56. I don't think it makes a difference, but after defaulting, I used my originally modded FSW_PSW.MAN rather than reading the module after default, and writing it after making changes. Again there is no other weirdness, and ALL of my mods are working. Is this strange or typical?

Is there a way to check which datens file I should be using or which one my car is using currently, I have a MCS with a build date of 6/2013.

I'm new to coding(one week), and I don't know how to check what version the car has. I do know as long as you use the most recent datens, you will have no problem. V49.4 is the most recent. Datens is backwards compatible. My guess using your build date is your car would have V49. So V49 and up should be good.

My build date is 2/2012 and I used V49.4 almost flawlessly, besides that headlight issue a couple messages up.

I've been tempted to try thus one touch up windows on my R57S. What was different than the R56? Also, don't our R57s already have window close with fob? I can close my top from the fob. What I really want is one touch (or two touch) down for my top.

Sorry I had to edit one of my messages. I typed that I had an R57. It is an R58. The 1-touch is one of the differences that I found in my trials from this message.

I am also ready to change the module for 1 touch up, but it sounds like it won't work without NCS Dummy. The spreadsheets list FH_MAUT_ZU_ACTIV_FAT and FH_MAUT_ZU_ACTIV_BFT but they don't exist in my trace file. I was thinking FH_MAUT_ZU_FAT_ENABLE and FH_MAUT_ZU_BFT_ENABLE were the lines which would work. Minimechusa, did you try these?

I was also wondering how to access the FRM2 module. It is not on my drop down list.

Kevdog
So the function values for an R58 are sometimes different from an R56. The last lines are what worked for me. If you read your FRM module, search for "FH_MAUT_ZU" in your trace file and see what you have. Switch the two lines you find to aktiv and test!

can anyone tell me the correct daten files to use for a 2013 R55 ?

I am using the V49 datens but get comm. errors on the 2RAD module... but other modules code correctly.

I have heard other posts where V49.4 is refrenced... but, cant seem to locate a link for them.

any assistance would be great.

I also received a comm error when trying to read 2RAD and DSC just for backup purposes. Those are the only two modules I don't have backed up. There was a trace file which came out of it, but I don't want to play around with those anyway.

Here is V49.4 thanks to Theta in the R60 coding forum.

i am trying to enable SDARS, and was really hoping to enable it before I go on a road trip tomorrow, but looks like I will have to wait.

How about the CHAMP module and FRM2 modules. I was going to enable the weatherband and fogs on with high-beams and i dont seem to have a CHAMP module listed... justa HAMP module, but that contains literally 5 lines of code that doesnt match CHAMP... andI dont see a FRM2 module at all.

I will give V49.2 a shot, that may give better results

For my car what was listed in the FRM2 module was actually in FRM. I can't tell you if it works, but if I were trying to code fog/high beams I would set: FL_UND_NSW_NICHT_GLEICHZ in my FRM module to nicht_activ.

I also don't have a CHAMP module. I search ALL of my modules for "radio" and "weather" and nothing came up! I'm assuming you are looking to set RADIO_WEATHERBAND. Sure doesn't look like an available option in an R58.

I know some people have had issues with DRL, here's mine - it's a 2013 US car using v49.4 datens.

I've coded it so that only the city lights (upper half of the fogs) come on as DRL.
The BC setting on the stalk for DRL is set to ON

When the stalk is in the AUTO position all lights come on including the dash lights, it's acting like it is dark out.

When the stalk is in the OFF position the DRL works as coded, only the city lights come on.

When the stalk is in the ON position all lights come on as they should.

It seems to me that auto is acting just like ON or the sensitivity for auto is extremely high.

Any suggestions? Is there a way to adjust the sensitivity of the AUTO feature?

EDIT: It is definitely a sensitivity thing, I drove today in the bright sunlight and the lights in AUTO worked like they should. I'm going to try and find a setting for this.

Sorry if this was already discussed in this thread, but I couldn't seem to find an answer to this!

I'm currently helping out a friend who has a 2013 R56 and so far we couldn't seem to get NCS Expert to work. We were using v45 datens to work on my 2007 R56 and that seemed to work (for the most part). Could anyone help me out with the 2013 datens? I found reference to a v49, but nothing more than just a, hey these exist.

While messing around with various settings, I ended up attempting to disable the seatbelt warning, and this tripped my airbag warning. Does anyone know how I can clear that and any specific ways to avoid doing this in the future other than, "don't do it again"?

Thanks everyone!

You need to use datens 49.4. That's what I use for a 2013 R56. I believe that I did a google search and found it. I've done the seatbelt warning and many other changes without any problems.

I've posted it on my google drive for those who want it. There is a rar compressed version and a zip version take your pick they are the same.

DATENS 49.4 go here:

Are you also good with 2013 rear fog codes?

I've only disabled the bulb checks for the passenger side (USA) rear fog and driver side (USA) rear reverse light when I installed the JCW aero kit. The stock newer MCS have fog and reverse on both sides.

Eventually I'll get around to installing the switch on the console and recoding so the rear fogs will work. I believe that you need to add $588 or $5AA to the vehicle order but I have yet to make changes to the vehicle order string so I don't really know how to do it (yet).

Thanks. My 2013 JCW only has one rear fog on the drivers side. Let us know if you get around to coding the VO.

Anyone in the PORTLAND area who can activate my heartbeat (alarm) light?

Please HELP. I need someone in the Portland OR area who can plug into my 2010 mini and activate the heartbeat (alarm) light on top of the tach so that it blinks when I use the fob to lock the doors (just like it would if I actually had an alarm). I know this is an easy mod but I'm just not sure I understand how to do it. I would need a literal step by step walkthru. Is there anyone in the area who can do this for me?
