I believe that would be because you don't have an R56. You have an R53 if it is an S. Or an R50 if it is not an S.

There's another thread around here somewhere with instructions on coding these older cars.

Moreover, i try the V40 files and it doesn'y work anymore.

This time i took the full error code and it is :

COAPI-2000: EDIABAS or SGBD error
BIP-0009: Faulty BEST version of description file

>> ERROR! Modul: COAPI2.CPP, Proc: coapiRunCabd, LineNr: 06, ErrorNr: 2000
CODIERINDEX_LESEN

>> ERROR! Modul: COAPI.CPP, Proc: coapiReadCodierIndexFromSg, LineNr: 05, ErrorNr: 2000
CODIERINDEX_LESEN: A_PL2FRX

>> ERROR! Modul: LFCDHDIA.CPP (A_PL2FRX.IPS/IPO), Proc: CDHapiResultText, LineNr: 01, ErrorNr: 2000
BIP-0009: Faulty BEST version of description file

>> ERROR! Modul: COAPI2.CPP, Proc: coapiRunCabd, LineNr: 06, ErrorNr: 2000

Hi all,

i solved my problem alone.

I reinstall a proper version and moreover i install Ediabas 7.2.0.

And now that works.

But, i have new problem, it's normal i think...

I successfully coded my car but, the new function aren't activated !

I know it's paradoxal, but after coded the car, i shut down for around 1 minute, and try the new function. It doesn't work.

I read the module again and the new function are clearly coded.

Does i need to do something ?

I try to disconnect the battery to restart the system but it doesn't work anymore.

Thanks for all for any help.

Regards,

HI
i am having the problem about VIN is Faulty, and i also dont know in the instruction pdf what is the model of the folder to be created on ncsxpert ? is it R56 (in my case) or is it V38 ?? I wish the instruction would say something like "create a folder Named XYZ etc" instead they just say to copy all files to ??
So this is what i need to ask:
1. is it a folder that needs to be created with the name R56 (in my case) or V38 V40 or we take all the files from the unrar datens (in the tutorial will be V38) and copy them to the datens folder?
2. If we see the battery On etc on INPA but get a VIN is Faulty at NCSexpert, does it means that is the cable or the datens?

Please need help
thanks

R56 january 2008 N14, D-Can cable bought on ebay $45, and true winXP notebook.

Hi sir,

If you asking this question is because you don't have read all the topic and thé instruction to install ncsexper. You have two pdf in the pack for the r56 which explain how to install and how to code.

I think you have problems with your daten. The v38 or 40, 45 are the R56 files for ncsexper and need to be extract and install correctly to work.

If the inpa doesn't work ncs can't work because he read your VIN

Hello FX
Well i did read the instructions, and this its the bottom of my question:
step 2: (after the extraction part):
you will need to copy/paste the files in these subfolders accordingly:

All files in “daten” → C:\NCSEXPER\DATEN\XXX (where XXX is your chassis code)

The XXX is my main questions, so based on my car (R56) SHould i create a folder named R56 and will show like this:
C:\NCSEXPER\DATEN\R56 ??? and then copy the files (not folders) from the datens V38 extract to the new R56 folder??
Thats my simple question.
And my second question was, im reading my battery on INPA, so its my cable ok?
And please i do like to read and follow instruction but i didnt get that one.
thanks again for your help

chassis code is r56.

If you simply download and run the bat file then all things get placed accordingly thanks to Chernobyl.

If you can read your vin then the cable works.

Simply getting ignition lights does not mean you have the correct cable. You have to actually read from your cars computer.

As nutsofamily said, you must run Laden.bat in your daten folder.

This bat file will create a R56 folder automatically.

If you want to be sure that it works, after done this step, run NCS Exper and try to read the module.

If you get an error tell us.

Thanks to GTECKO and NUTSOFAMILY

just two comments:

1.) Get the cable listed in the first post!

2.) The program versions from NUTS will work with Win7-64bit

PS: I'm using a 2012 Macbook Pro with Win7-64bit bootcamped

So far I have done the seatbelt chime delete, 1 touch sunroof, next I'll configure the DRL's.

Any one have any issues with the auto unlock option? I programmed mine to do it, and have the car setup to auto lock. When I take the key out it only unlocks the drivers door. Is this what it is supposed to do or is it supposed to unlock all of the doors?

I ran into this issue a couple months back as well and figured out why.

It depends on what setting you have to unlock your car by your key fob. If you have your car set to unlock JUST the driver's door with 1 push of the unlock button on your fob and 2 pushes to unlock all doors, then it will only unlock your drivers door upon removing your key. However, if you set you car to unlock ALL doors with just 1 push of the unlock button on your fob, then all the doors will unlock upon removing your key. You can change the setting by accessing your personal settings via the tachometer or, if you have MINI Connected, I believe you can change it by the settings screen on Connected.

Can you use a KIWI Wifi to connect to NSC Expert running on a PC to adjust codes? I am trying to turn on the rear fog in a 2013 R56 JCW.

Still looking for some help.

Also, can someone point me to a thread that just covers how to code the VO for the rear fogs using NCSExpert. Lots of these threads deal with other options.

Here is a link to a step-by-step PDF which helped me enable my rear fogs.
http://nutsofamily.com/wp-content/up...-CHANGE-VO.pdf

The final thing I had to do was to change NEBEL_SCHLUSSLEUCHTE to aktiv in IHKS. I don't know if that will apply for you, but it will probably be a similar setting.
