Is the motor different in the Cabrio?

Thank you. The EGT must be pretty good at 11.5 ( not too hot ). If it runs good, it is good. That's around what I would be tuning a moded carb engine - off idle. Considering all your mods, you might be able to get to 12+ but if you don't need to & there is no combustion temp issue ( closed loop - might happen at 12+ ) you should be making good power as is.

No, but what I've read is that this SC needs a special exhaust, and that's different in the cabrio. I guess.

The cabrio...

has an extra brace out back that requires a slightly different tube path or shape to clear. While you have to keep it in mind when doing an exhaust, the SC fit is the same. The cabrio also has some other frame braces.....

This is it. There are too many posts here to re-read . So.. they're designing an exhaust, right? but isn't necessary needed to install. This is my only doubt.

VM - The beta car is a cabrio with a stock exhaust, head & header, etc. so nothing has to be changed. You don't have to change anything outside of this kit for this kit to work.

Yes, one of the beta cars that is getting a M62 is a stock cabrio with a M7 DFIC and intake. So the kit will fit a cabrio with no other mods without a problem. Infact the base M62 kit will bolt right up to any MINI S without changing anything else. The base M62 kit pulley size will allow you to use stock injectors, ECU, intercooler, etc. and put down nice power to the wheels. Then as you want more power, upgrades will be available that take advantage of the headroom that the M62 offers.

It looks like there will be several different upgrade paths for the kit depending on where you want to end up. Me and M7 are working to have those upgrade paths available. I have attached a couple pics of things we are looking at as eventual upgrades for ultimate power from the kit. One is a completely redesigned supercharger outlet manifold. The redesigned outlet manifold allows the air to move through the supercharger easier and makes the system more efficient, producing more power. The second picture is of an air to water set-up we have been playing with. It is a barrel type intercooler that is very efficient and compact made by PWR. These are just a few of the upgrades that will be available as the kit matures. Both of these are in early development and may change, but you will be seeing more of them in the future.

Take Care,
Dave

This looks like the same style of intercooler that the unmentionable has on his car. It will be interesting to see how this turns out.

Voldemort drives a MINI!?

Some things are just so ridiculous; I wonder if we can actually have a discussion about this type of intercooler knowing "he who must not be named" uses it, too.

I already feel like I'm going to NAM hell.

Yep...

Jan is running it on his latest motor. He's doing some THINGS! I really hope a bunch of his stuff makes it out via a company. That would be way cool! I was at PWR a while ago and they have some nice toys there! One thing that is available from them (although it seems to be a secret, as I hadn't heard of it untill I was there) is an aftermarket radiator for the Mini......

I saw the barrel types, but didn't look at the guts....

Does anyone else find it funny that M7 decided to use a similair intercooler that the unmentionable is using? Hmm... Not too confident in the DFIC?

It looked to me like that post was from Dave@ddmworks and not M7.

I just dynoed my car last Sunday and got three good runs instead of one as on the previous two times. We ran the fan through the DFIC and it hardly got warm.
