THat is kind of funny...... the only thing I told Dave when I handed him the keys to my baby for a month or more was.... "If you break it or blow it up, you fix it."

"Don't worry Bob, we blow things up all the time": .....eek2: :impatient

Yup we'll be at the Hyatt, there are about 35 taking delivery of their GP's on Sunday, then on up to Limerock on Monday, Not long now!

Has it been confirmed yet if this M62 SC mod will show up there yet????

Update

I don't think NJ will be possible for me to make but there is still a chance I can get to Nashville on the 28th of Aug with the 62...... a lot would have to fall in place but I will be there if the car is ready.

Something you have to realize is that there is really nothing to see unless the front of the car is removed..... there is some discussion about the best way to show the kit at Monterey...... but I still will come to Nashville if at all possible

Bob, to be honest, I think that's the beauty of it actually... that it would be hard to tell that anything has changed simply by looking at the engine bay. Hope it can make it to Monterey...

Currenty, the kit will probably go on my car tomorrow or Thursday and I will go to Greenville to drive it on Friday or over the weekend.... Dave will continue to test the car for a few days and then tear it off and send it to M7 who will either mount it on a car with the front off or have a static display of the "kit" ......or some other option that has not been thought of yet.....for Monterey...... and then the kit will come back to Greenville to get remounted on my car where it will continue to be tested and observed and driven hard...by me.... There are other possibilities but these are a few.... Dave has already commited to some "all nighters" to get it done.... everyone involved really wants it at Monterey.....it will be a prototype but very close to or in fact the final design..... the other "beta" or should I say "alpha" car has been reprted to me as flawlesss. and I think it has 3-4K on the kit now.....I will drive it to Nashville if "the moon is in the 7th house and Jupiter aligns with Mars"..... don't want to rush it but don't want to lose the opportunity either...

Howdy,
Did they get the bottle-neck at 5.5K RPM figured out? What caused it? You posted earlier that they didn't think it was the exhaust...my guess it the head?

I thought it was too much boost...

from starting with an underdrive pulley!

I think that since my car has a 62mm TB, HDI, extrude honed manifold and snoots(intake) , large valve high flow head with Schrick race cam, Milltek header and cat-back that flow should be about as good as it can get..... hopefully this will shed some light on the potential of the kit.....

at least we will have the "almost" extremes

I get that you have just about every mod but I was thinking about the stock setup. Would the stock head cause the bottleneck? I am thinking of just going with this kit instead of the head/cam bla bla bla...but the kid/motorhead in me wants both. My $$ will not let me for now .

That is the $64,000 question (I show my age....very old TV show reference)

I intuitively think that the head and header will make the most dif to the 62s effectiveness.... on the stock car it has more low end and power than my car until about 5K..... that is saying something..... if it were me at this point, I would go with the 62 and save my money for a head a header......it is that good....... the stock car without any real tuning picked up about 40 whp and lots of low end.....and very smooth.... you would probably need a head, pulley, header, and catback (some don't want the extra sound) to achieve that not to mention tuning..... MTH or Unichip.... if you get a head you have to make some decisions about valve size etc depending on how far you are planning to take your engine..... with the 62 it is relatively easy. My first response was "*****...this is too easy,.....".... obviously for the true HP junkies the twin charge will get you even more but I dont want to fundamentally change the car that much..... we will know a lot more in a few days....my suggestion is don't spend any money for a few weeks and then decide....

Thanks SpiderX, and I do remember the $64,000 Pyramid show. I am trying not to spend money on mods that may not work with it. I have plenty of time...

pretty much anything you want to do will be enhanced by the 62...the 45 can't give enough cfm to supply some of the "high flow" mods to their potential..... hence smaller pulley..more heat charge..etc ad naseum.. .....the 62 should not have that problem..... I am thinking head and header would be the biggest bang/$ but in a few days we will know more...... I want to make it clear... I am not the official spokesperson for DDM but rather part of the "jabber" I could be completely wrong about everything.....
