ever have one of those "oh sh*t!" moments?

I just did. My numbers were the MP62 vs the M45.... Redoing with the M62, vs M45 the trends stay the same, but the at 10,000 RPM for the 45, the 62 turns 7500, has the same temp rise, and takes 1 hp less to drive, so it's a wash at lower rpms..... But it still has some temp benefits at higher RPMs....

With the 45 spinning 14,000 RPM it flows 305 cfm with a temp delta of 175, the 62 only needs to spin 10,000 RPM and the temp delta is only 145, and it takes 4 less HP to drive...

With the 62 running 14k, it flows 460, with a temp delta of 180... The m45 would still need to spin nearly 20k to get the same flow, the heat delta would be about 230 and it would take ~5 hp more to drive the thing...

So revise, the M62 will be just as good at low RPMs, but still get better at high RPMs, and yes, at least it does line up with the data available for the units....

With the M62 you have to convert to an electric water pump, right?

I'm sure there's some power to be had there.

Is there any programming needed for the pump, or does it just go full blast all the time like a regular pump?

yes it is an electric water pmp .... not sure if it is variable speed load dependent or just on......

From what I recall, these guys are controlling the water pump, even allowing it to run up to 5 minutes after powering-off. At least that is what I thought I read somewhere....

Heck, while I generally like that idea, I wonder if we can over-ride that. I ask because guys like me and Matt, who have the lightweight batteries might find this to be problematic. Ah, small potatoes in the whole scheme of things I suppose...

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to give you a little more of a sneak peek at the kit and how it is progressing. We are working to have the kit up and running on Bob's car this weekend, or early next week, and have been also taking care of all of the Intake orders that we have been getting (thank you to everyone that has ordered one already). We are very excited about working on Bob's car because of all of the mods he has done to it. His set-up should flow very well, which these positive displacement supercharger's definately like. Enjoy the pics, and as I get more information I will be happy to post it for everyone.

I was wondering. I didn't see alot that you have on your car and the 62 was already on? Just wanted to make sure.

I think he was referring to the HDI box, not the M62 kit.

Dave, is that a custom plate I see there that the SC outlet runner is bolted to?

While you may be concerned about the battery drain I would probably be more concerned about the cool down on the car.

5 minutes in reality shouldn't cause an issue. While I haven't played with a lightweight battery in a while I would think that the draw of the water pump would not be big enough that 5 minutes should be a big effect. I am sure David can give you more details on the specifics of the water pump.

I would also favor the cool down period much over the added weight of the battery but that is me.

How much weight are you saving with the battery you have?

chris

Don't worry Sid.... I can probably go up there and take it out of Bob's car for you while he isn't looking and send it to you

Chris, with battery box removal, the savings is about 30 pounds (20 for the battery delta, and 8 or 9 for the box). The straight exit exhaust that it paved the way for saved about 30 more pounds...

As I said originally, I like the idea of running the water pump afterwards. I'm simply asking if this is somthing that one can adjust, or simply turn-off. I've done a few things to keep my car running cooler, and wouldn't mind another, that's for sure.

Is there a reason this system, as compared to the stock blower (with belt-driven water pump) needs to run for 5 or so min after power-down? I'm thinking that this is just an added feature (a nice one), and not one of necessity....

No matter how it comes wired...

you can always change it to a adjustable delay relay to get whatever you want.....
