Drivetrain M62 SC on the MINI is reality
Update
I spoke with Dave yesterday andd the kit will be on the car TODAY..... that is the good news...... more good news.....it is coming off later today to get ready for shipment to M7 for the "Monterey" races...... it will be back in Atlanta in plenty of time for me and a few surprise "guests" to be in Nashville on the 28th for MTTS.... I am driving up Sunday afternoon and staying at the Vanderbilt Hampton under the name of "Bakert." Anyone who gets there early and would like to "hookup" with my guests and me let me know either on this thread or PM..... Oh ....there is no bad news

I got to tell you I miss my car..... it is a big source of stress relief and pleasure and it has been over 3 weeks but I am not complaining.... I signed up for this but I do miss it and this kit is going to be huge for the Mini community.....

On the way to California
Just wanted to give everyone a little heads up on the DDM M62. The supercharger was just shipped out to peter at M7. He will have his hands on it in the morning and the DDM M62 will be making its debut at the Monterey historics this coming weekend. It will be on display for everyone to see at M7's tent, make sure you stop by and see the DDM M62 along with all the other M7 goodies.
Peter is then going to ship the kit back to us so we can re-install it back on Bob's car, do more testing on the kit and bring the car up to the Nashville event on the 28th.
I have some pictures from the install on Bob's car that I will also put up.

Have there been ANY dyno tests of this setup yet? I am not so interested in peak power, rather, I am curious to see the shape of the torque profile... Please excuse me if it is in here already, but I haven't been able to find it.
Thanks

We have some dyno runs on the DDM M62 on the stock MINI that has been running the original prototype for some time now. once we get a chance to dyno Bob's car to see what the potential of the kit is, we will be posting graphs and numbers so everyone knows what they can expect with the mods they have on their car now. The really good thing about this kit is that it will make really nice power on an otherwise stock MINI, and also benfit greatly from other mods like intakes, intercoolers, heads, throttle bodies, etc. We are aiming to have those numbers and graphs available at the Nashville event on the 28t so stay tuned. I will say that the otherwise completely stock MINI with the DDM M62 had no trouble keeping up with Bob's car around town.

You got that right. That car is awesome. A car with one mod keeping up with it....
even if it's a pretty serious mod... still. Wow.
Hope I get a chance to check out this new bit one of these days

Great job there Dave!
SpiderX will be having alot of fun soon. Only request (I have said the same thing to the TC owners and they have not complied) is that you video tape the darn beast... please
I will host it if needed
I'd love to be there and see the results... This is a very good product coz modding a Mini is very expensive to start with. What happened to the twin screw kits?
obehave
Keep going guys
*Who do I contact at ALTA via email for an order? They don't answer emails or are slow.*

Hmmmm... sounds very good... almost too good to be true! I'll be keen to see the dyno graph after you get back from Monterey.
I also forgot to ask about the 3krpm dead zone... it seems that lots of folks have reported issues around this rpm. Mostly folks with larger T-bodies and some with cams... I am curious to know if the the M62 has improved or eliminated this dead band.
When you say this is bolted to a 'stock' MINI, do you have to remap the ECU? It would seem like you would... ?
I'm also keen to know post supercharger temps for the M45 vs. M62. It seems that much brouhahah has been made about this superchargers efficiency, and I am curious to know if it's reflected in real data.? If it is indeed running in a more efficient manor, than the post-compression temps should be significantly cooler. It'd be interesting to see an overlay of dyno-performance with supercharger temps on top!
Finally, I wanted to again thank the developers... I can appreciate how hard it is to make something new and great, and I for one and psyched about this kit. If the data supports it, so will my VISA!
ciao

I myself am equally interested in seeing a picture of Spidey's face upon his return from his first spin around the block. Better yet would be a short video of him pulling up from his first spin and getting that first reaction.

OR PUT A VIDEO CAM IN THE CAR
.Would someone please capture the moment.
If this thing delivers just half of the expected performance, my gut tells me that he will not be able to get out of the car because of the raging bulge he has in his pants.
Sort of like the "thumbs up" seal of approval - just that no thumbs are involved
