Some words of advice..

from someone who has done product introductions for longer than I can imagine...

While speculation is fun, it's rarely beneficial. There isn't good data yet, and speculation just sets expectations at arbitrary points. (like price just over $2k, really, let them finish the kit, add up the costs, figure out the required profit to pay for the development and dinner at night, distribution costs and the like). If the number comes out at $4k, all those thinking less will be pissed.....

I think the project will run better, and have a better commercial introduction, if only what has been done is discussed, and not what one hopes to do.

Sorry to be a wet blanket, I too am curious to see what the package can do and for what cost, but I'll wait for the facts to come...

Yes, the 62 arrived in Greenvile at around noon (thank you M7).... It will go on tonight and to the dyno Thursday or Friday for some A/F analysis....Dave and I are driving to Nashville on Sunday afternoon and will be on hand at the MTTS event along with da da da daaa Peter from M7.... I have heard that Will may make an appearance....

I will give people rides in the car .... do not look for burnouts or things that will get me tickets (jeopardize my license)... but you should feel the power etc....

Thanks for asking

Bob

I hope you meet your goal Spidy!

I know how you feel about not being able to drive your monster. Same here... still on the jacks waiting for parts to come in (2 weeks now, will take 3 weeks) plus it was with my friend for 2 weeks before that :(

I need to hear that supercharger whine soon... my offer still stands (hosting the pics and videos)

Have fun!!

The "S" comes with an Eaton M45 SC..... the next size up in the M62...... it does not just bolt on.... a kit has been developed to fit the 62 on the S engine.... typically the 62 gives about 30% more output/power.... this is unproven on the Mini....but we are hopeful...... it is very exciting to me because I don't want to TC my car......

Sounds nice, so a kit is almost finished to bolt on the MCS? What kind of price range are we talking here? Are your car the first?

The best of luck to you!

Price range is looking between 2-3k from input to this thread. It may be more, may be less. Also speculated that the kit could be available as soon as mid-late September. I believe Spider's car is the first .

Take lots of pics spider! And plenty of videos! I'm 99% sure this is the way I want to go with my car!

195 whp (220 bhp) with just a 3k dollar upgrade! Ya, sounds good, lots of people on here are reporting that much after extensive tuning with a head, exhaust, intake, pulley, software, cams, etc. With a head, cams, intake, exhaust, and the right software, the M62 is bound to be over 230 whp. I hear Spider is shooting for 260, but i'll let him chime in on that one!

My car is the second... the first was done on a stock car with only the DDM intake.....

there has been no custom tuning done.....

The 62 is on cars (not Minis) that make 300 whp... we are hoping for 250 -260 whp at least ... the final tune will not be done until after Nashville MTTS..... we just want to be in safe operating mode at first...... a custom tune is planned and no particular system is set.... Dave wants to be able to use all systems without being "married" to any.... there are some new players coming to market in the tuning arena and there will be discussions with them as well.... Dave is going to be taking lots of pictures tonight as this install will be the owners manual/installation instructions......

Yes I will be in Nashville on Sunday and Monday with Dave and Bob, to show Bob's car and answer any questions you all might have regarding the system or related M7 products.

Spider any word yet as far as how good of a job the stock intercooler will do with this larger SC? Is it worth the trouble of moving on up to a water to air intercooler for a setup like this, or would something like the Alta or M7 Intercooler work perfectly. I know you said you don't know much about the water to air systems, so you may not be the person to ask, but I value your input!
