Nice shot Cheese. I don't think Jason got the dyno-tune done. He said he was not going to get it done whithout getting the AGS on first, makes sense to me.

Unless he's got the system and is just waiting on the filter .

Don't worry man, there will be #'s for sure. Can I ask you what you think of the AGS?
I mean to me it's obviously better than stock and performance gains will keep getting better as other mods., like porting, bigger valves, etc. get added. Right?

didn't kn get crap for filtering numbers in a comparo?

is this a different type of cotton filter? maybe egyptian cotton? softer to the touch!

No really, I'd like to see the differences and such. I always thought cotton was crap for filtering, and paper was best.

yeah man, check out the pictures of the stock tube. The stock tube was is fused together pretty shoddy and looks restrictive as hell.
Hang in there, M7 is our friend and only wants to help improve our driving experiences.

Well, I'm shopping for an intake I'll be purchasing next week. Is this product ever going to come to market? Hype for the past 4+ months and I don't see any dates or promises met so far...right now I'm thinking Alta?

I don't know why everyone thinks that designing, developing, testing, and commercializing a new product--nevermind a newly thought-out product--is that easy. The company I work for released a new *revolutionary* inline skate recently and it took us almost four years to do.

The people we look to as vendors on NAM are themselves vulnerable to their own manufacturing and parts vendors. Late sampling, price changes, improper plastic shrinkage inside of molds, and resourcing parts for better prices and quality are just a handful of things that can delay products for months, or longer.

Maybe word of the AGS was released a little too early, and that M7 has been a bit ambitious with their projected dates. However, somebody previously said that M7 just wants to make a good product for us, and I'd like to agree with that. Whoever thinks that they are kicking back as they dangle a carrot in front of us, laughing, doesn't know how important it is for a company to make sure that their products are the best they can be. When a product comes out, it isn't just a source of revenue for that company, but a representative of that brand's image. When you bring a product out that has been as hyped as the AGS, it is better to bring it out late and have it be good, than bring it now and have it be like every other intake on the market. I wish more companies cared enough to take that approach.

I don't think anyone thinks the development of a new product is easy. But, it seems that a lot of vendors here will say they're "about to" release something, and then months or years go by before it is actually released. The product gets the benefit of pages of discussion and hype without actually being in the hands of consumers for evaluation and feedback.

As far as laughing about it, no. But maybe they dangle the carrot as a way of getting people to put off purchasing something that is already on the market. Invariably, the new product is touted to be far better than anything existing and revolutionary in design. So, some people will hold out waiting for the promised "holy grail" of parts.

Agreed. If vendors don't want the criticism that comes with months and months of delays, they should wait until they actually have a product to sell to start advertising.

This thread started just a little over two months ago -- it doesn't seem like M7 has overly promoted the AGS, imho. I too have been one of those people who was "on the fence" as I was ready to buy a CAI. Could I have waited another month for the AGS? Probably. However I decided to order a ProMINI CAI for now and will revisit the AGS in the future. Even if I do replace the CAI, I can recover some cost by reselling it, so it's not a completely sunk cost should I upgrade (and the two combined cost about the same as the JCW CAI -- my original first choice).

I would rather see M7 delay the introduction and delivery high quality product as it is better both or us as consumers and the long term health and reputation of M7. (The one product that has been way over-sold is the Blitzsafe Sylink, originally promised well over one year ago, but that's a different thread. )

Lol, fair enough. But M7 did post on that thread in November that it would take them a while to get the product out, but it would be "soon". I guess it comes down to what your definition of "soon" is.

I, for one, would rather wait for a product that is done right the first time. I think its great that M7 is keeping us in the loop as it develops. Okay so it has taken a little longer but that's how it goes when you develop a new product from scratch.

Q for M7: I assume the cotton filter will be reusable?

Patents take $8K - $15K to get, and usually almost two years, and last for 25 years. Patent Pending takes $80, is active almost immediately, and requires that you file for the full patent within 12 months.

If it takes 25 years...

Design Patents last 14 years. Utility Patents last 20 years. You cant say Patent Pending without submitting a patent application. Its very illegal and you used to get in a lot of trouble for doing it but for some reason nobdy really cares anymore? Provisional Patents is the cheaper alternative which lasts for 12 months.
