I think the top skirt of the piston is slightly different. If they were Foged, I would already have a 45r turbo bolted on .

LOL! that would be awesome! Even though they are not forged I really dont see an issue running 19-20psi with the stock turbo as long as there is no knock, and afr is good.

Akrapovic makes a great down pipe. It is catted but the exhaust they sell is cat less. Have both and love them. It is a very well made exhaust, I'd say OEM quality or better. Also it's pretty quiet for a performance system.

it turns out to not have been a 2011 problem. it was just a coincidence that myself and another 2011 owner got the "brown" circuit board, which was tripping the CEL. i don't think there have been any issues with the JB+ since, and there are a lot of them out there with a lot of miles between them.

Good way to secure the JB+?

Hey guys, I just installed my JP+ and love it so far. One thing that bothers me just a bit is how the MAF cable is now hanging around more and even touching what I think is a heat shield. Is this bothering anyone else? I was thinking using a ziptie to secure it to something else, but I was wondering if anyone found a better method.

I use zip ties to tidy it up a bit. Otherwise mine was vibrating against the hood.

7 months, no issues. that's not the heatshield it's touching - it's the plastic cover above the valve cover. if that piece doesn't melt, your JB+ likely won't either. terry made sure to use higher heat resistant plastic. the sticker on my JB+ hasn't even been affected yet, so I don't worry about the plastic too much. mine also doesn't rattle, so I haven't bothered tying it down.

The JB+ is not touching actually, I was more worried about the MAF cables. I've just added a zip tie to hold the jbplus box up and the cables are not touching anything anymore, see pic attached.

Just an update. It's 22 degrees C (71 degrees F) here in Modesto, CA and my JB+ is still set at 100% and so far no problems with the higher temp. I have the Aquamist HFS-3 and am running 70% 91 octane/30% E85. Hope there are no boost cuts once temperatures rise further the closer summer comes.

Is there any brazilian member running JB+ in its rides? I'm a little concerned cause brazilian fuel is a mix of gasoline and up to 30% of ethanol, even in our premium fuel. Is it dangerous to install?
My car is a Coupe S AT, currently I'm running with DDM Works CAI, Mini Challenge Exhaust (It's very loud!). If I install the JB+, I'd like to install the evolve decat (I removed because a cel code) and FMIC. Is it safe?
Can tool is indicated?

rsantilli,
If I have read correctly, a lot of people who run a 30% e85 mix can get better performance and even turn up the setting on their JB+ module. I can't speak to the quality or actual percentage of the 30% ethanol mixture in brazillian fuel, but I imagine you're completely OK to run JB+ at the stock setting at least.

I did just this. I have the VIP intake so my connection was a little off from the way the stock wires sit. You might be able to see what I did in this pic. I did not snug the zip tie tight, just enough to hold it up out of the way.
