Drivetrain Gintani Aftercooler Program
the quick response RMS went down the drain due to Oshs bad management. At the time Alex and Danny decided about partnering Danny formed MiniCorsa Alex already had Gintani. Danny went up the street from Osh Gintani went to Canoga Park. Gintani moved again into our new facility behind the van nuys courthouse where we currently reside.

Thanks for the response and clearing that up. Sorry to hear about the past history mix-up. Best of luck to you guys.

isnt everyone getting a bit overly offensive about this product and of all else, Gintani? i just want to ask
2400 for a FM W2A IC isn't expensive when you consider the only other FMIC that i know of, from Randy Webb, sells for exactly the same price, and his is A2A, and had issues of its own
Gintani, prove your IC makes that power, if only someone like andy@rosstech is willing to throw his time into it again for the community, if Randy Webb is willing to use it on his car he obiviously had his reasons, and i for one would like to hear Randy's comments on this core
a vendor is a vendor, i don't care about your past dealings, put your word where your mouth is, if it makes 14 hp on a stock car, prove it! please o please do NOT become another Palo Uber!
if you ask me, competition is good, it only pushes all vendors to do even better to get your hard earned money... past dealings is just that, if a vendor can prove he or she is the best in the marketplace, then its up to the others to follow suit and change with the times

I'm hoping that our nightly backups accidentally eat this thread and I wake up to find that it was only a dream and the site is again in a state of tranquil bliss.
[sarcasm]Somehow I think my day tomorrow juggling the issues, emotions, perceptions, etc in here will be just as "fun" as it was today.[/sarcasm]

How's this for a proposal? Please feel free to modify as fit.
Gintani, how would you feel about having an independent person from NAM, preferably located close to Van Nuys, evaluate your product? At no fee to this person, you would install a demo aftercooler on this person's vehicle and restore the vehicle to its original condition after the evaluation period. Perform before/after dynos while eliminating as many variables as possible on a Dynapack or other hydraulic dyno, have the volunteer write up a review of the product (and perhaps also his/her experience interacting with Gintani and the new location), and whatever else would be valuable to the MINI community. The caveat is that the experiments will need to be very carefully designed, because NAM members tend to be nitpicky, but in the end, you won't be able to satisfy everyone. Ideally, the volunteer's vehicle should be at least minimally modified with pulley reduction + ICE. If this is successful, you could do the same thing with your ECU tune.
This isn't a new idea, and in fact, IMHO another vendor implemented it quite successfully (albeit in a slightly different manner, but that is why this proposal is open to modification) with one of their products. Example: https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ad.php?t=95030
I realize that you're already paying to be a sponsor of this community that is picking your product apart, but you're going to have to spend more in marketing funds (ones that work by proving your products are viable, having independent objective testing done), energy and time to educate people about your products and why its function/design is superior, and goodwill to show that you're not just "buying" your way into the community as a sponsoring vendor. It's certainly not easy or cheap (but then again, neither is starting a business - glad you've taken it this far!), but if it's not already apparent, there are many people here who have given and devoted much to the community and have no monetary stakes in it like you do.

i think the concerns brought up were justified...as in the end it is us the consumer that this product is targeted toward...and i think the antics palo uber has pulled has soured everyone's perception...gintani, time to put your products to the test for the NAM community to see(considering a huge demographic of MINI owners are here)...sure showing dyno charts and so on is nice...but i think what people want to see is above all....a true test to show that people can shell out 24-3200 bucks+ and be confident in doing so

just pointing out what i've read on here time and again; #4 it seems on the mini; runs lean or hot , the lean part is my assumtion as to why it runs hot . it's obvious your system will be better than stock but 2500.00 is a big hurdle. guys can buy a head for 2000 and make 20 hp heat or no . but this item is for the deep pockets. some are out there; but the majority of us it seems spend moderately or to put it better everyone seems to do what comes naturally and look for the best bang for the buck . do drop the price.
It looks like a very nice design which makes sense. Still on the fence about your professionalism, though. After this thread, now you need to prove to us possible customers that you are indeed a responsible vendor worthy of our trust. ($.02 )

take a stock car and another stock car w/ only the Gitani as a mod and put them on a track for X period of time. report high, low and avg. temps pre and post IC temps plus ambient. THIS is what is needed to understand its thermal reduction capabilities.
Remember guys IC do not produce power but merely recoups lost HP do to intake temps.
A separate test needs to be done to understand its restrictiveness (i.e. air flow).
Get one of these to DocO who has tested stock, alta, M7, Gtt and GRS
Until this is done, we should all take a step back and cut the new vendor a break
