Look, no need to go do all the research on SOW... lets take it to Famoso where we can do some head to head 1/4 mile runs. Its a much less of a drivers race at that point. If drag racing isnt your thing, im sure Johnny would have no problems taking it out and doing a few 20-120 runs on a closed stretch of road. Give Johnny a call and ask, if he is to busy, Have him call me, i'll take off of work, meet you at the shop and take the car out myself. I'll even supply an HD video camera and window mount for your car. Maybe we can hit a dyno afterwards and see them put the power down side by side. Hell, you busy in a few hours?

Forget the interweb lets go to SOW blah blah blah... We can have results in less time that it takes to get to SOW. I am and i'm sure others here want to see which car is faster.

Also, dont think i didnt catch your "I will bring a supercharged Cabrio" comment. We are talking about a Mini Cooper Cabrio. Apples to apples none of that bait and switch and have you pull up in a modded 996TT convertible.

So.... What do you think? Hell i'll take off work and see you at the shop in a few hours. You busy?

This is getting good.

not to mention you could barely contain yourself to jump on the 'bash Jan' bandwagon. I know you're not a young guy but this is what I pictured when you opened this thread and couldn't wait to reply

do yourself a favor and re-read my post........
the offer stands

I'm wondering if owning a turbo R53 causes reading comprehension problems?

He's the one in this thread talking about his power to the wheels.... I say bring it on out.... I will bring a supercharged Cabrio and we both can see who is faster.... don't you think that's fair?

Seriously.... with that much power it won't be a race..........will it?
Well it seems to me that you are the one calling him out to back it up. WELL LETS GO !!!

Then you step it up and challenge him.
Yup Still Here and ready!!!!!

I respond to your challenge and call you out on it. Lets do this. I have no doubt that Johnny's car will hold its own. Hell, If John isnt busy I guarantee he will race you himself. Day is still young, his car is detailed and ready to go... I can meet you and run you in less than an hour. you want him to prove that his Cabrio isnt the fastest, bring yours and shut him, myself and others up.

Yes he did post he has the fastest cabrio..... Last i checked this is a mini cooper forum and he also posted it under "drive train ( cooper S ) " Were you really not able to understand what he meant?

Im new to the these forums but its funny how many people are PMing me to tell me you will never go for it. I hope im not wasting my time on a bench racer. Dude, its a simple this car pulled that car by this much. After the race Johnny's car will either have backed up his title or not. Isnt that what you are asking for? Bring your Mini Cabrio and run. If you are concerned that it wont be a close race, Ask for some space, whats the wosrt that will happen?

So, just incase you dont have the number...

Or maybe show them pictures of Ducttape's rolled MCSc during one of the Arctic Runs (first one, I think)... with the top down.... which was righted... and he drove it home... (of course, rolling it into a snowbank helped... and I think he did have it flat-bedded once they got back to civilization...)

LB - The car looks great. I love reading about these modded cars... considering I'll probably never have one... and although some of the mods aren't my cup or tea, it's still fun to look at... much like my friend's heavily modded MCS that I've done much of the work on...

Then again, maybe I'll go stupid with the TDI and smoke you all off the dyno... (prolly not... )

Car looks great longboard, it's got a really nice stance and good to see someone going for the Asym's for a change. Any chance of a pic of the back as I want to see what that lower spoiler looks like.

Ok let me try to get this back on track.

Longboard

Did you do all of your suspension mods at once or in pieces?

I am interested in what kind of changes you have seen with these:

-Powerflex Poly front control arm bushings
-Powerflex Poly rear trailing arm bushings

So I now have what I consider the ultimate "street" set up. Fantastic handling, Great ride and killer looks.

Here is what I have now.

Goodyear F1 asymmetric 215 x 35 x 18
Ro_Ja Formula 7 rims
H&R street coilovers
Ireland Engineering fixed camber plates
OMP strut brace
OMP lower brace
CF rear upper brace (looks cool )
Powerflex Poly front control arm bushings
Powerflex Poly rear trailing arm bushings
Alta 22mm sway bar
ProMini rear drop links
Helix adjustable rear control arms

Longboard

I can run at Buttonwillow and Laguna Seca with my convertible.
Streets of Willow/Willow Springs, no.

It's nice that some places leave it up to the driver to decide how much risk they'll take, instead of mandating it!!!

Hey Jeff,

I did the rears about a month back and it did make difference for the better you can feel.

The fronts for me was an amazing change since I had 50K on the stockers. "Control" is the best way I can put it. You don't now how bad your used stock bushing are until you change them. If you have a Mini with 40K + miles. Make an appointment today and get these installed .

I highly recommend getting both done.

i agree with the statement about the fronts
i had gotten used to bad/worn front bushings
car felt completely different when i replaced them
it was amazing i had forgotten how well these cars handled to be honest
blew my mind all over again
and that was with only ~37k miles
but my car gets lots of autoX/track/dragon etc style driving
