Drivetrain Project X-300
Well..
I've had Kumho MX, BFG KDW, Nitto NeoGen, Toyo T1-R's and now the Goodyear asymmetrics.
My ranking is:
Goodyear
Kuhmo
Nitto
BFG
Toyo
The first time I took a nice down hill 90 degree freeway on ramp the Toyo's chirped and screeched all the way through the turn. The grip was just not very good. The wear was poor, then caused the steering wheel to shake even after balancing twice. I just didn't like them at all.

Do me a favor, if/when you ever run that thing hard can you fry me up some eggs on that DFIC
. Just kidding I don't want this thread to get jacked like all the rest.

My intercooler doesn't get hot enough...come to SOW and I'll bring a temp gun and we will check it just to make sure
..............since you are making so much whp..... I'm sure you will easily run sub 1:28
so you admit it was a software glitch all along? nice of you to be honest. finally. that goose chase you sent me on...not fun.
Dan,
there are plenty of documented cases of stock cars doing this.... even yours did it........so yes.... BMW has a glitches too
my issue was not with the problem as much as being told it was a million other things (all of which cost $$ and would lead to no solution). a little bit of forthright "yeah, it's a problem but we're working on it" goes a long way, but I realize it doesn't help you sell.
I've driven Johnny's car many times and i too thought that IC was WAY to small but when you drive it, the recovery time in temp is awesome. Could be that its no longer an off the shelf M7 unit or the larger scoop and exit scoop. Whatever it may be, its a well designed system without excuses. Maybe i'll take out his Mini sometime and do a vid of his temp guage that is set to before and after the IC.
Why pick on his IC anyhow even if it did run like a heater, dual BOV's monitors and all, he is still making more power to the wheels.... no?

He's the one in this thread talking about his power to the wheels.... I say bring it on out.... I will bring a supercharged Cabrio and we both can see who is faster.... don't you think that's fair?
Seriously.... with that much power it won't be a race..........will it?
We are talking to the track people now to find out. We have to bring it out so they can look at how the factory rollover bars are hooked to the frame.
right. that was a sporadic thing though (like three times EVER). the thing with the Dimsport tune - every day it ran like poop at idle. Every day since Jan 08 until I had it flashed back to stock in September and sold the car. Three tunes later and it still did it. I'm not the only one with this issue with your tune....got a PM just tonight asking about it.

I know that in my MRS spyder that i had i was forced to put in a weld in roll bar to race on the big track and that was even with my hardtop. Never tried the small track but i think its the same.
Look, no need to go do all the research on SOW... lets take it to Famoso where we can do some head to head 1/4 mile runs. Its a much less of a drivers race at that point. If drag racing isnt your thing, im sure Johnny would have no problems taking it out and doing a few 20-120 runs on a closed stretch of road. Give Johnny a call and ask, if he is to busy, Have him call me, i'll take off of work, meet you at the shop and take the car out myself. I'll even supply an HD video camera and window mount for your car. Maybe we can hit a dyno afterwards and see them put the power down side by side. Hell, you busy in a few hours?
Forget the interweb lets go to SOW blah blah blah... We can have results in less time that it takes to get to SOW. I am and i'm sure others here want to see which car is faster.
Also, dont think i didnt catch your "I will bring a supercharged Cabrio" comment. We are talking about a Mini Cooper Cabrio. Apples to apples none of that bait and switch and have you pull up in a modded 996TT convertible.
So.... What do you think? Hell i'll take off work and see you at the shop in a few hours. You busy?

Looks like the F1s are good but since the Vredesteins are cheaper and not far off then its not bad. I run them and really like them compared to my old tyres.
