Drivetrain Project X-300
What? What did I do?
I'm only making it easier for you to completely clear that 300 mark while keeping it close to what it sounds like now...
What if you went 3" and added like 2 or 3 hushpowers?
Just Do It(peer pressuring voice)

So I have been driving the car all weekend and it's just awesome.
The Brisk Racing silver plugs fixed the miss up top. Before I was shifting at around 6800 to stay safe. Now that the miss is gone I can pull all the way to 7500. I forgot how hard it pulls up there
. I drove the car any chance I could and just smiled the whole time.

Thought I would give an update as I've added a few new things over the last couple week. I made an appointment with Danny at MiniCorsa.
The new items included:
Goodyear F1 asymmetric 215x35x18
StopTech front calipers
RacingBrake slotted front rotor rings
StopTec slotted rear rotors
CarboTach Bobcat pads F & B
Polyurethane front control arm bushings
H&R coilovers
Stock upper oil filled motor mount
The new items added to the ones I already have really has transformed the car. The power, handling, ride, braking and stance is truly world class. Lets just say I'm very happy.
Here some new pics

Well...
On the cosmetic side I've slowly been adding a few CF parts. I just won a new CF JCW rear hatch handle for $80
. That should arrive tomorrow.
On the engine side the only thing next would be the radiator. The stock units with the plastic end tank is crap. I'm on number two. Jan has a guy making some really nice all aluminum units so I ordered one a couple weeks back. I hope it's done this week. I'm getting one for reliability reasons as my car actually runs a little to cool
. I want pullet prof reliability.
Other then that I don't know what else I can do. But you never know

why not 225/35/18 F1's? They're closer to stock OD and with all that power, a 215 is silly. I had 225 F1's and 225 A048's with 60hp less and had a hard time putting power down on low-speed corner exits.

I wouldn't go that far!
The A048's had a TON more grip but due to their round profile, had very, very light steering. This made for quick turn-in with -2F camber but also made them quite darty. Swapping the F1's on with their square profile, the steering was better weighted and effort built very progressively telling you what was going on.
But, I'd agree...anybody who swore off F1's after thinking the GS-D3 was 'soft' and not communicative enough should give the Asymmetrics a roll. VERY impressed. Hell, I'm running 245/40/18 F1 All-Seasons on winter set for my new car and they're damned impressive as well (huge amounts of grip I wouldn't have thought possible in an A/S tire).

.Your talking about the GS-D3 when you say square profile correct? I really didn't like the over the top looks of that tire or the square profile. I did a lot of reading before getting the new Asymmetric. From the reviews I found the Asymmetrics are supposed to be better then the GS-D3's in every way.
I can tell you they a worlds better then the Toyo T1R's I took off.

225/45/16 A048's on left, 205/45/17 RE-01R's on right:

225/35/18 Asymmetric:

The F1 Asymmetric has more of a square shoulder...the A048's are like gumballs so any rollover to the sidewall isn't a dramatic loss in grip. Heck.....just look at the dust from the floor that is on the tires - that shows the profile of what's in contact with the tire without cornering - there's a good 2"+ on the A048 due to the roundness.

looks real good. I'm running the GDS3's - for the Florida down pours they are very nice.

dude...you have no idea. The HRE's are in the shed (awaiting a new owner), the BBS are on the back porch waiting for Krut to get off his lazy *** and come get them. Now, I have (8) 265/35/18 RE-01R's and a set of 18x9 SSR Type F's + empty wheel boxes in the garage. <shakes head>

Well...
I was but the more I thought about what I use my car for the Cross started looking more and more over kill. Then I found the H&R's basically new with the re-designed front springs for $700 shipped and I couldn't pass them up. That left me a lot of $ for other things.
So I now have what I consider the ultimate "street" set up. Fantastic handling, Great ride and killer looks.
Here is what I have now.
Goodyear F1 asymmetric 215 x 35 x 18
Ro_Ja Formula 7 rims
H&R street coilovers
Ireland Engineering fixed camber plates
OMP strut brace
OMP lower brace
CF rear upper brace (looks cool
)
Powerflex Poly front control arm bushings
Powerflex Poly rear trailing arm bushings
Alta 22mm sway bar
ProMini rear drop links
Helix adjustable rear control arms

Well..
I've had Kumho MX, BFG KDW, Nitto NeoGen, Toyo T1-R's and now the Goodyear asymmetrics.
My ranking is:
Goodyear
Kuhmo
Nitto
BFG
Toyo
The first time I took a nice down hill 90 degree freeway on ramp the Toyo's chirped and screeched all the way through the turn. The grip was just not very good. The wear was poor, then caused the steering wheel to shake even after balancing twice. I just didn't like them at all.
