The current model Rotrex wasn't available when they developed the S.

Not at all. I'm getting 5psi at 2900 and 10psi at 4000. 8000 RPM is not proposed it is a reality.

Still it looks like the 19% pulley performs pretty well againt those numbers.

So are the advantages of the Rotrex really only heat and noise related?
Have you driven a car with the 19% pulley or a twin-charge setup, and if so, how does it compare?

From what I have read about Rotex supercharger, they take very little power to run. I have been a fan of Rotex since early 2003 when Active Autowerks started supercharging E46M3's. So while the Rotex makes less boost in the begining it somewhat makes up for it because it takes so much less power to run. Thats why the turbo cars can run the same 17psi of boost as an M45 but make another 50whp. The M45 takes way too much HP to run. I have heard the M45 on the 1.6L Mini motor takes 5hp to make 1 pound of boost. So much for "free horsepower". Rotex should also increace MPG because of the less supercharger drag. I would guess 2-3MPG more.

Agree with Mario. The Rotex guys are a great set of Engineers - fantastic product they developed.

Hey Neil, are you coming with me to test drive LongBoards Rotex? You live so close, maybe sometime next week.

In your given scenario, how much HP does 1 pound of boost equal?

I can't quite get over this statement. Are you saying this mod will not be livable on the street? If so, how many of us have a track only car?

I'd like to know as well. Could this be set up to have more boost down low, as to get us off the line faster?

I think what Jan is trying to say is... everyday in posts like this and others there are 100s of posts by people who say things like "you can't do that with out a full stand alone" or "this isn't streetable" etc...

so don't worry about it... all those posts do is cause issues and confuse people... when ultimately most do not even know from expirence only what they THINK...
Jan is one of the few who have pushed so far beyond what anyone said was possible... and he's doing it again right now... it's awsome... I am in awe... and look forward to what comes...

ha ha yeah.. but that's my point... Jan said "unless I say it, then don't worry about it" in reguards to your concern about not being streetable... don't forget I drive the unpossible mini... it's "unreliable" "needs a full standalone to make that kinda power" and of course is just plain "undrivable!"

so my point was don't worry... it's coming... and is totally streetable...

Not livable on the street .

Well I better drive to the house and park this thing. I would be driving it every day if I didn't have four kids to pick up each day. I take it out every afternoon just to get that adrenaline pump.

I could only imagine what it would be like to drive Tuls monster.

it's really not... I mean it's fun... don't get me wrong.. but it's very tame compared to say a honda with the same power... I think cause the MINI is just a solid built car...

It's not going to have the instant torque of a twincharge... but it will be less maint and fear of melting your engine down

It's not even finished yet but you want complete data that isn't available......yet

I think it has the potential to wipe the floor with the M45 if that is what you are asking
