Must be summer, busy here
I have two brothers-in-law who live in Canada.
You should greet everyone at work "Happy Canada Day!" and see how they react.
anyone know where i can buy screws in small quantity? i already
checked my local hardware stores and they dont have this size:
M5x0.8x50mm Countersunk hex head screw.
Head diameter: max 10mm (ideally 0.9mm)
Taper: 3mm
Hex: 3mm
Most of them are all short like 25mm length.
I just need like 10pcs.

So, I got to experiment with polishing a little bit this weekend. Did some work on a scratch on my Moms Yukon. But now I am left with a few questions...
1. How much polish should I be using for a 2x2 foot section. I basically made an X shape on the pad then took some off the tip of the bottle and stuck that on the panel. I felt like it took a bit to long for the polish to fully dry out, but I dont have hard numbers...
2. Along the same vein, how hard should it be to buff off the dried polish. I was having a very, very difficult time removing it all. I had to rub really hard to get the stuff to come off, and that was with the short side of the DP dual pile. Is it really supposed to be that hard?

i use about a quarter sized dab to start off, then maybe a nickel sized
dab after that cause the pad is already kinda damp. really depends on
the foam pad density though and how much pressure you want to
apply onto the paint while polishing.
as far as removing the dried polish, you can use some distilled water or
QD. I use Griot's system so just spray SprayOn wax.
for polish that got on the trims, get them off quickly with warm water.
if stains remain, try some alcohol and follow up with BW.

got back from motoring my MCS.
since it's my 4 day weekend
i took my dandy time motoring.
caldusted the entire car and QD'ed the front end, clarity'ed the glass.
looks good. i need to clean off the wheels today though.
might pull out my FitS later on.

Gotta break the law and wash (and interior detail) Blimey this weekend... the filth is driving me nuts. I've been doing a LOT of top-down motoring (including probably a couple THOUSAND miles with the top down since the interior was detailed) and the interior is just nasty... dust in all the nooks and crannies... yuck... time to break out the Q-tips...
On top of that, we have a pair of Carolina Wrens attempting to nest in our garage every time I leave the door open for more than a few minutes... just what I need... crapping birds INSIDE the garage... and they're good at getting inside and hiding until you close the door, then you come out in the AM and find two birds flying around inside your garage crapping on everything... GRRRRRRRR
I slew a pair last year... only way to get rid of 'em... looks like I'm gonna have to do it again... bird lovers, flame on.

like ive been saying, non-edible birds need to be removed from the planet.
car guy does not mix well with bird crappage.
i had those mourning doves trying to make a nest near by. i threw
a piece of mulch at them (didnt hit the crappers) but they look at
me like 'hi.'

my neighbor came out with a boom and WACK!
just kidding,
he just took down their partially built nest cause it was blocking up
his house's gutter passage and causing problems.
almost every year those doves and robbins come around trying to make
a nest nearby.
go make it out in the backyard, not by the garage.

so this pm wife and my younger kid headed out to the ContainerStore
to pickup some things. while i was there, i picked up a few of those
2oz bottles that have a water sealed cap.
im going to pour some rubbing alcohol in there so that i can keep a
bottle in my cars with my papertowels and QD so that after i take care
of bird crappage, i can disinfect my hand with it.
now i wont
have to walk to the restroom at a gas station or watever just to
wash my hands.

Blimey, just get one of those fake Owls, that might scare them away. You may shoot a hole in the soft top with that Daisy

Going to spread some mulch in the gardens, it's overcast and cool here right now. Well first I need a bit more coffee though.

I actually use the new-fangled ten pump pellet gun... less ricochets... and make sure I have a good shot that doesn't threaten the cars, windows, or other non-bird things that I care about....
But maybe I'll pick up an owl next time they have them at the $1 store...
