yah, i think im going to order some amigo.

his butt is hazy.

if i only amigo the butt, would there be a visible difference between
the amigo and non-amigo's sections of the panel?

im too lazy to amigo the entire car.

Prolly not enough to worry about.... I've Amigo'd in sections before, when I had "problem" areas that needed a bit of maintenance...

I used BW for the first time on Fri and everything turned out great! Areas with heavy wax res will hopefully be gone with a second coat.

In my experience, it will take some scrubbing to get that off... just "applying" won't do the trick. I heard that Richard has some new stuff coming out that's more of a cleaner, to remove the wax, etc. before applying BW. I think Griot's also has some stuff that does this. BW will do it, you just have to scrub with it to get it done...

Only words of warning:
1) if you have real, legitimate swirls, Amigo probably won't completely hide them. But for "hazing" and some micro-marring, it's great. But don't expect miraculous filling - no substitute for Swirl.
2) It will make the panel you do so mirror-shiny, that you may want to do other panels after you see it.

as a base cleaner for BW, i used some rubbing alcohol to remove as much
polish stains and previous garbage dressing (ie: Back-to-Black) off before
applying BW.

worked great.

yah, it's micromarring from the calduster. i can only see it when
the morning sun hits it directly.

I dont want to polish it too often cause I know ive removed quite a
bit of clearcoat already thanks to the dealer installed deep swirls.
my car was originally a floor car so it has been abused by
porters often. the dealer-painted aero bumper felt like sand paper
on the top surface when i bought it. i could feel the swirlage
bumps.

so this 'filling' of Amigo sounds perfect.

Shhhh.... don't tell anyone... but there are parts of my car that I STILL haven't used polish on.... because Amigo has been "good enough"... I've stretched it out for almost 2 years.... but soon the whole thing is gonna need a good de-swirling... but if I only have to polish the sides and bonnet every 12-18 months, and maintain them with Amigo the rest of the time, and use Swirl on the boot every 6 months, that's a victory IMHO, for a daily driven car that I use the duster and QD on quite often.

To keep it on topic.. I haven't polished Geoffrey in the nearly two years that I've owned him. I live in an apt so it's rather difficult to do a full detailing session that includes polishing.

I really think it doesn't need any polishing ... yet. There are just a few "cobwebs" on the hood, but other than that, looks great, I think.

Maybe I'll take it out in the sun later and take some high res pics and post them.

Wait ... maybe I don't want to look toooo closely ...

some folks claim they have ZERO swirls and yet they dont look all
that closely at their car or know how to. that's happiness (or sadness).
