blimey- i just noticed on yours.. 1330lbs/in that's like 110lbs/ft. is that enough?
they dont say the loosening torque... ?

that probably wont loosen a dealer torqued lug.

It isn't a lug driver.... it's for everything else that I take off and put on (strut braces, various engine compartment bolts, suspension and brake stuff, etc.)

I want a cordless lug wrench also, eventually, for track days...

I wish ken was my next door neighbor... Blimey finally picked up his first ding... gotta find a good local PDR...

blimey- most suspension bolts will not loosen with just 110lbs/ft due
to rusting, some seizing, threadlock, etc. you're going to probably
want more(?).

i was looking through my latest northerntools.com catalog but the
corded ones with 345lbs/ft (dewalt) are just too bulky. i dont think the
unit will fit inside the wheelwell + socket while working on sus parts.
i may have to just get airtools... like an air impact.

i looked through some sites including snapon and the torque range
i want is more like 3/4" drive. lol

sorry to hear about your ding. yah, i got a small one on my FitS's
driver door near the bottom. im just accumulating it and doing it all next
Spring when it's warmer.

here's a pict of my new JVC. it's got HD)Radio.

crutchfield sent me the free harness (the antenna harness's terminal
backed out of the connector so i had to redo the install ) and
the Metra bezel they sent is complete pos garbage... but after a while
imperfections have a funny way of not bothering me. so it's
starting to look pretty good.

the sound is awesome. it's the JVC Aresenal with the SRS circle surround.

Cool stereo...

Yeah, I have air impact tools for the really tight stuff.... the thing that amazed me was how MUCH my mechanic uses the little cordless one - for LOTS of stuff that normally you'd just take a ratchet to....

thanks.

you got a good setup then if you already have a heavy duty impact gun.
i rely on my breaker bar for those fasteners and it can get kinda tiresome
at times.

yah, i can see how the mechanics use that cordless impact gun.
not having a hose or having to have to change ratchets due to various
torque in tight space... looks like a fine tool to have.

yah, it doesn't really work all that well... if it worked why bother
spending thousands of dollars on tools and training when you can fix it
for $5 at walmart.

i mounted my magnetic towel dispenser on my mobile cart. thing is
great.

yah, my G's on a battery manager so thats why her hood is open in the
background. speaking of which...

motored my G this morning again in the rain and washed her afterwards.
SprayOn waxed, Hydro'ed the wheels, and Clarity'ed the glass. looks
great. used my shopvac to blow as much water out.

Got Poco's new cabin filter in, man was the old one dirty, feels like I have a leaf blower for a fan now.

He also go new plugs and wires today, idle is smoother, throttle response is a bit better also. The old plugs, with 100k miles looked great, no carbon, hardly any pitting. Always motoring in a spirited fashion is a good thing

Going to do some yard work now, then wash the MINIs. I'll get around to posting pics of Gimli in his thread later.

Yeah, I motor with my windows open year round, but after 2 years the filter was pretty filthy.

Got the boys washed, but it was getting dark, so I'll post pics of Gimli tomorrow.

A bit bummed. My sheepskin wash mitt is now shedding. Had it about a year; is that how long they're supposed to last? did I miss something in taking care of it?

This is year 2 for mine. I never wash it, I figure it gets washed using it. I do rinse it out with the hose after each use, ring it out with my hands, gently, then put it over a plastic pipe on my wash cart to air dry. Still looks and feels like new.

I was at Harbor Freight this morning, needed some files for work, and found a wheel wash mitt that worked pretty well. It has rather stiff pile, so it got dirt off with one wipe. Also go some regular guy foam applicator pads, that came with a handle that has velcro on it to hold the pad, should be good for BW. And I found some finger micro fibre applicator mitts, should be good for Epic and Banana Gloss. I love that place, may have to go back this week and get an aluminium floor jack that is on sale.

My black one fell apart in about a year. I got some of those Griot's MF pads and I love them!

I went for a little motoring today. I hadn't been in a while so it was nice. I took Skyline Blvd allllllllll the way from start to finish and stopped for a little picnic at an overlook on the way.

A view from the overlook:

It was good...on the south side of the range it was raining, so the first 20 minutes or so I had rain...after that it was sunny (like that picture) until the veryyyy end, when it got foggy.

Gotta love the Bay Area weather...

i didnt feel like washing my cars every day in a rotation so today,
i did not pull my MCS out for my am drive.

it's dry here but the areas i motor shows there were some light
showers (enough to get the car dirtifed) so didn't feel up to it
to motor him. oh well.

perhaps i'll get some drive time later on the week. i should
be getting my wing lip thingie along with the parts i ordered through
outmotoring pretty soon.
