Must be summer, busy here
Just asking because you go motoring a L
T !! 'tis a good life you lead, my friend !!
I had a nice commute in my MCSC this morning. But... I couldn't get the roof to go down all the way. It stops at the sunroof opening point and won't go any further.
Thought the motor might be over heated. Just went out during lunch and tried it again. No go.
Owner's manual says to make sure the convertible top release handles (in the boot) are tight... they are.
Looks like a trip to the dealership is coming up.

Check it all again before you take it in...
You don't know about the shelf sensor?
Then I bet $20 that sir is your problem...
You know the shelf back there that separates the retracted top from the boot.... it can sit in two positions... with the top up, you can move it into an "upper" position that gives you another couple of cubic feet of space - you unlatch the levers, flip up the back of the top, and use the levers to prop it up. Then remove the shelf from its forward pivots and move it to the upper position.
The catch is... in this position there isn't room for the top to fold down. How does the car know not to try? There is a pressure switch under the (I think) left side of the rear "foot" of the shelf in the lower position. When the shelf isn't sitting on it, the sunroof will work, but the top won't retract.
If the shelf has gotten bumped while putting stuff in and out of the boot, it can get hung tilted a bit and not push on the switch...
Go check the shelf. Then paypal me my $20. I just saved you a trip to the stealer.

Well, Paul... that did the trick. I unseated and reseated the shelf. The top goes all the way down again.
But it sounds like it's not quite lined up right, or something. Makes a bit of noise going up and down, clicking and cracking noises. I'll take a better look at it tomorrow in daylight.
Thanks !

ewwwww...pulling out my G in a little bit.
nice and sunny, only 58F i need to pressure up the tires this week if this continues. im at the
minimum now at 35.5psi... factory is 35psi, my center is 36.5 +/-1 psi.
63 degrees here this morning. Lots of clouds though... which makes it nice when you're washing cars.
Two down, one to go. Then it's time to do some motoring of my own. Then back to mow the lawn before the afternoon baseball game starts.
Had a big club meet here yesterday - over 60 cars... I'd been able to keep Blimey clean since last weekend's wash, so just did an interior detail and QD and Nero treatment, and engine bay wipedown.
Here's most of the cars... photo by Catseye... we had a about 30 more before it was done...

The main reason we are going over the bra is the old ones faded were they are not under the bra, but still look like new under the bra. Plus I figure it will hard to cut the bra so that the new stripes fit in between the cuts and not have any gaps. I also figure less seams to worry about when polishing/waxing.
I'll post pics later.

Oy vey. Hope it's nothing serious, FVR. Electrical problem, I would bet.
It's been a productive day here, too, Ken. Washed all three MINIs. Hydro'd the PW one, Speed Shined the CR and JB ones. Slicked the wheels on all three. Wiped down the interior of the convertible and hit it with the 303.
Took it out for a little motoring with the top down (still making a weird clicking noise as it starts to go back).
Mowed the lawn. Did the trimming. Clipped a couple of bushes back. Got the sprinkler out now as one of my beds was looking poorly.
I'm a little tired now. Shower time and then it's time to kick back with a cold one whilst watching the ballgame.

Yeah, it was a lot of work. I normally don't have to wash all three MINIs the same morning but since I had to work yesterday... And now I could use a nap. The baseball game is being delayed by rain but I don't want to risk falling asleep and missing a good chunk of it.
So, you drink Diet Pepsi because you saw professional PDR guy drinking it ?

yep, the guy that trained me was drinking diet pepsi so i thought
that was the ticket to getting better at PDR. and i think it was.

slicked the G's wheels, spot sprayon waxed, pressured up the tires
on 3cars. my 3yr old wanted to help so i let him hit the power on/off
button on the compressor.
also cleaned the arches and so onso forth on the MCS.
