Must be winter, quiet here
Whewww... popped in here just to see if Paul had been around at all. Glad to see you weren't caught up in this, Blimey:
RALEIGH, N.C. – More than 70 people have been arrested in a cockfighting ring that secretly gathered in central North Carolina to watch a $40,000 tournament so gruesome that one of the roosters splattered blood on the investigators' search warrant, authorities said.
Deputies didn't expect to find so many people crammed into three chicken houses that had been cleaned out to provide hidden parking spaces and a cockfighting pit, Randolph County Sheriff Maynard Reid Jr. said in an interview Monday. Authorities arrested 73 people, ranging in age from 16 to 79, and charged them all with cockfighting and cruelty to animals, both felonies.

Washed and Hydro'd Blimey yesterday. Washed two snows worth of gunk off the minivan and Banana Gassed it (not Banana Gloss... this was my original sample of BG!). That stuff ROCKS... Gotta buy a bottle.
And here's what else I've been working on...

More pics and a writeup on my blog.

Washed and Banana Gloss'd the JB MCSC today.
Washed and Banana Gl.... wait.... I ran out of MINIs.
And, HEY PAUL... what's different ? I need a "before" pic !

Blimey, that looks great
I'm thinking of doing the belt line of Poco in a solid BRG, kind of like a pinstripe. May also do that with the chrome grill, hatch handle, rather than black. Part of my quest to get him all solid BRG someday.

hi guys, not too much car things going on with me...
about 2wks ago i pulled out my MCS to get its emissions
checked when i curbed my BBS.
so i got
a new one with a new tire wrapped the next day.
then a few days ago i was hit while driving home in my
FitS.
but my MCS and G35C are still
spotless at home.
but then about a week ago i saw that the ceiling in my
garage was dripping water onto my G35C from the snow
melting.
so i called a guy to fix it but yet
to be fixed due to more snow...
as a bandaid
i placed my MF towel on the trunk along with a cup to
catch any further drippage until the fix. but my
music room is nice and dry and really starting to feel
like a modern studio.
that's all for now... will update in a month or two.
take care.

Whoa... ken lives? I thought chows killed him and ate him.
I got a gallon of that Adams magic undercarriage spray... gotta try it soon.
Bought a pint of Standox Cool Blue basecoat today, because the color match for Dupont sux... but the body guy used Standox when he did my bumper and the match for it was much better...
Got a 3" backing plate and some 3" pads for my PC but haven't tried them yet... might polish this weekend... dunno yet...

im Brian, remember me?
fit took about $3K+ in damages and it will take more
than some metal stick (PDR) to fix. it will take metal
stick + case of DietPepsi + tape, glue, and some whiteout.
i think im going to bend the car andmake it look like a ferrari. it will take some time.
yes, it was a pain in the ****.
my garage ceiling is now fixed and no drips of rain
on my G35C.
but i dropped my wife's notebook pc and that set me
back $1k.
not a good month this month.will check back when weather's nicer. have a nice weekend.
blimey- what is Adams? Is that like Nick's brother's faux
Hydro?
Wow... did you guys hear something? It sounded like ken, but I know he doesn't come here anymore.
Yikes about the FitS...
I just ordered a newfangledminiPDRsetup.... and am gonna play and learn on the minivan before touching anything I care about... but I have a couple of small wife-induced-garage-dings on the MINI that I need to fix... and they're small enough I think I'll be able to do them with a bit of practice... will be a useful skill to have... will post info on and review of my PDR gear once I see if it works well... VERY much cheaper than what you spent on yours... by like a factor of 10...
The Adams stuff is grape koolaid for your well wells. It's not greasy like the Griot's undercarriage spray - dries to a nice dark matte black. Got it from Detailer's Domain I think...
Gonna be crappy weather here this weekend. Then starting next weekend I have a MINI event every weekend for a month... so I better get my polish job done this weekend...
Oh... and I perfected my auto trim painting skills with my HVLP gun... my scoop looks GOOD now... only took SEVEN attempts before I learned the things NOT to do... and got the right paint... gotta respray my headlight rings this weekend, too...

So Paul are you recommending the Adam's stuff? Does this mean you don't want my gallon of Griot's goo?
My MINI is turning 36K today by the time I get home. Crunch time - to get the extended maitenance & warrenty from the dealer or not - $1800 for 100K miles or 7 years.

Someone told me there was a Ken Spotting here today. Well... Lo and F'n Behold... there WAS !!
Sorry to hear you've had a bad month, ken. But hey, things are bound to improve from here, right ??
So, Paul... you have your own PDR kit now too. Just like ken. I think I spotted a very tiny ding on Dr Evil last week. You can experiment on him at MOTD if you want.
<-----look of trepidation.

So, yeah, I like the Adams stuff. I had one of my wheelwell liners out last weekend doing some other work, so while it was out I sprayed half with the Griots Goo and half with the Adams. The Adams dried to a nice, non-tacky dark color. The goo... well... looks like it'll attract dust. So I cleaned it off and did all my wheelwells, and they've looked nice all week. And my liners are heinously gray from scrubbing them with caustic stuff last year.
And, yeah, I'm counting on being PDR-capable by MOTD... might bring my stuff just for the heckuvit. It's a very easy to pack and transport kit compared to the traditional kits...

haii yaaw!!! ... now i sound like some asian redneck
)4) weather's nicer. i think im going to put my summer wheels/tires
on my G this weekend.
hahahaha.
heh... asian redneck. You need to move down here.
Got the PDR kit - it's a Lock Technology LT-820 kit.
www.ltitools.com
I found this thing in the Eastwood restoration catalog and was intrigued.
Got it from ToolDiscounter.com for $218 plus shipping
http://www.tooldiscounter.com/ItemDi...okup=LTILT-820
Very nicely made, professional quality, heavy-duty kit. Adjustable solid stainless rods with thread-on tips makes it very portable compared with traditional "fixed" rods/picks... the training DVD that comes with it is OK, but not fantastic... but the thing was designed by an experienced PDR tech and has some very nice features and capabilities. Comes with a reflector board and knockdown punch, plus a good assortment of stainless and ABS tips... pretty much what you need to get started... I played with it for a few minutes last night, but need some time on the minivan to "train" and really get a feel for this... but I'm confident that I'm gonna be able to do it with good success based on the DVD and early experimentation... it really isn't rocket science, will just take some practice to develop some skill. Will be a while before I can do a ding to 95% in two minutes like on the video.

By the way... Banana Gloss ROCKS. I know that's old news... but I'm a recent convert. Actually just used it on the MINI for the first time tonight... OMG I love it. Easy, Fast, looks awesome. Ran out of time and won't get the car polished before a meet this weekend... so the BG is a stopgap, and it looks GREAT.... and only takes a half hour to wax the whole car including the interior paint...
Lotsie, Chris, Chuck et al... when do you guys use BG and when do you use Epic now?

I use Epic in the Fall and then in the Spring. BG is used every few weeks or before a show. It's just so stupid easy and it looks great. Sun or shade, hot or cold plus it has some good cleaners too. So I'm with you on this one Paul.
