Wait until you come back... THAT is when it hits you.
Have fun over there.
Ps. Anyone seen Ken ???
Like anyone will really miss him.
I do already.
Pulled a used third row seat outta a junked minivan today, to replace my torched one. Same seat, just more mildew (yuck). But that's what you get when leather sits in a partially open van with no care for gawd knows how long. Still, in pretty good shape... and $100 for an old seat beats almost $1000 for new SEAT COVER from Chrysler...
Blew it off, wiped it down, then used Lexol cleaner and Nourish on it and it's almost as good as my original seat, pre-inferno. Still has a few mildew stains down in the leather - I'll do the Leatherique treatment on it when it warms up - that'll make it perfect-ish. Put the base unit and headrest and seatbelt from my slightly-torched seat on it, as all those parts were good as new.
Told the wife she had my permission to use this in her disgruntled wife club drinking games to win the "worst birthday present from husband ever" game - "mildewed old minivan seat from a junkyard to replace the one the putz set on fire"... she'll win every time, guaranteed.

When she boasts about winning, just remind her of how resourceful you are, Paul. And how that resourcefulness saved enough money for her to buy a new purse and pair of shoes.
Not a lot of detailing going on around here... Blimey needs a wash, but will be too cold for the next several days. I'm fighting some performance gremlins on the MINI, and wrestling with a power sliding door issue on the minivan... I just detailed the oscillating fan heater we use to keep our bathroom toasty in the winter, though.
I hate the parking garage at work. So much so that whenever possible I now drive the CR-V. In the matter of two months at this new location the CR-V has received 4 door dings and a scratch. Meanwhile the MINI sits in the driveway, unused, but undented. Oh and filthy.
This weekend is supposed to be nice so I'm planning a three car wash before heading to Houston for business on Sunday.
Perhaps our warmer weather means you will be getting some next week.

Washed two of the MINIs this afternoon. It's in the upper 40s here today. HEAT WAVE !!
It's going to rain tomorrow afternoon/evening and snow on Tuesday, but I don't care. Had to get two weeks of sodium choloride off them.
They're back to being beautiful AND clean for a day, at least.

Finaly got up into the upper 40's this weekend spent 2 hours blasting road salt off with high pressure washer, washed her with Dawn by hand, clay bar (this was the first time I ever did this, it took 6hrs), Mcguires color-x, then NXT 2.0. Alot of work which took even longer (thanks to the super bowl...gotta love DVR) but in the end was worth it!!
Was nice and warm here yesterday... wish I coulda washed Blimey, but he's in the shop getting a CV boot replaced (which, of course, spread vast amounts of grease all over the bottom of my engine and suspension... yuck...

happy detailing and motoring!
