Must be winter, quiet here
Lets see, what did I do today.... sanded and stained a new shelf for the kitchen, ordered some tools and stuff from Lee Valley, watched it rain buckets, OH YEAH, I washed a jacket with one of Gimli's remotes in the pocket
, figured out were it was after the last rinse
wiped it off, took it outside, and all was fine

lotsie- wow the battery survived that, huh? dang.
i remember
when i was like in grammar school i accidentally placed a lithum button
battery on wet surface and it started to sizzle (short circuit).

today is a werd day... all of yesterday it was raining and windy 57F.
today still windy but dry and temps are 20F's. it's like a perfect day
to pull out my hobby cars to cycle everything... but i dont feel like it.
im going to go play my keyboard.

MINIs are bathed, look great
It's been about a month since their last bath. They both have had salt on them, but the last couple of days it has rained in buckets here, so most of the salt was off them. Motoring them through water running down the roads helps

Got the new shelf for the kitchen stained/sealed. Hope to install it tomorrow after work.

Ah... back from the inlaws... finally...
Ended up getting this tool cabinet/cart instead - went to Harbor Freight and looked at all their stuff and this was my favorite. Enough room for all the mechanics tools I use regularly, easy to roll around, and nice to use as a work tray beside the car while doing stuff...

Assembled it this afternoon - then loaded it with my tools - then used it to install a Detroit Tuned bypass valve in my car, which has been yo-yoing lately. Fixed!
Need to clean glass and QD Blimey tomorrow...

Yeah - it's much better built than the shoe box tool chest. Very heavy, great casters, good ball-bearing full extension slides, goes together very solidly.
I've seem mechanics using these things car-side before and thought they looked handy - definitely are - the tools you need for the current job migrate to the tray on top while you work - so as you're reassembling, everything you need is right there - then just a few things to re-stow when done. And keep the really common ratchets, screwdrivers, etc. that you use all the time in the top. Close the lid, and it's a nice table for other projects.

yah, completely agree. until you get one of these mobile carts you
don't know wat you're missing.
i have all my interior modding
tools in there like electronics stuff, interior removal tools, etc. at all times.
i have 2 cars parked outside so these mobile carts comes in REAL
handy.

LOL!
hahaha.
well, it's under my name but wife's going to be driving it 99.99% of
the time. the 0.01% is when i need to get the FitSW (W for white)
out of the way to pull out my G35C in the warmer months.
i think this is the first time my wife actually test drove a car she
wanted to get and not me.
she made the decision on wat color
and style, etc. i just beat up my salesguy (he's cool) on the price
and trade-in.

hey, i got my new triplite UPS yesterday for my music gear.
was only $70shipped and 300w or something so i can run it with
zero power for over 15min.
i remember the days when UPS were like $350-500 for such lower
wattage types.
and my new LCD and vga converter are also coming today. we
bought the wife a new 22" for her work pc and she's going to lend me
her old 18" for the rest its remaining service life.
i likes deals like this.
"borrowing" for the rest of its service life for free.

kenchan, if you are really concerned about not only the availability of power but also the quality of the power to your equipment, you should really look into a UPS that generates a true sine wave. Most of the inexpensive units use a modified square wave that use just two or three steps to approximate a sine wave. The good UPS units are basically adding a line conditioner to the mix. I keep my home theater stuff on 1500VA units that generate a sine wave. Facility power and cheap UPS power can be pretty dirty. Computer equipment is generally OK with them but amplifiers like a sine wave.

EBR- hummm... that's something to consider, thanks for the tip.
the new one im running is a 300VA model so im not sure if it's a clean
sine wave or not.
i think i can get by with this one until im ready to record my new stuff,
but im going through a lot of drills right now just practicing and memorizing
all sorts of cord progressions on my instrument so it might be several months
before needing the true clean powersupply signal.
yesterday i went back and played the previous keyboard ive had since
2001 which was suppose to be Roland's flagship model. compared to the
new flagship i recently bought the old one reminded me of a casio keyboard.
the keyboard itself felt real plasticy, the sound was kinda
im sure
i can find a use for it though as a bookshelf or flip it over and use it as
an iron board or something.

wee~ UPS's going to deliver the FitS's winter wheelset and cargo cover thingie Friday. :p
So I drove the FitSW today. Man the AT takes out all the fun out of the car. The paddle shifter is a nice touch but I now know for sure I will never be able to enjoy AT.
So, the A4Wgn, I may end up passing cause it only comes in AT... Perhaps I should look at the Clubman myself down the road.

btw, i pulled out my Griot's CarWash and boar's hair brush to wash the
ex-legacy wheels and used some ScratchX and Hydro to finish yesterday.
and..i actually rinsed my FitS yesterday since the temp was 35F. i just put the
water on full blast and washed the undercarriage... mainly the coilovers.
it liked.
