Must be winter, quiet here
as soon as my wife's up this morning we're going to start moving her
stuff out of my den (my music room/office) to her new office upstairs.
then going to rearrange my room to have a nice office on one side,
small sofa chairs, and the music gear.
going to be yet another
busy day.

Then, 3 hours later, I'm like, "THERE IS NO F#&%IN WAY I'M EVER GOING TO DO THIS FOR ANOTHER PERSON"...
I'm not wired the right way for tedious, repetitive stuff...
Duh... it's INVISIBLE.
And ken - NICE keyboard.
The cold air is finally arriving here... it's be 60's the last few days, while the Great White North had descended on the rest of the country...
I gotta fix a section of carpet in our family room today... left over detail from my cabinetmaking spasm.
blimey- yah, ive seen some pro's do it at the dealer and it was basically
the same time consuming process.
the only difference seemed like
they know where to pull when stretching the bra to match the curves.
even though i had no previous experience it wasn't too bad. and knowing
it can be replaced was comforting.
thanks on the keyboard.
my new pride and joy.

Ken, your blessed you can make that keyboard sing. All I'm good at playing is a sound system

I'm good at doing repetitive tasks. It becomes important at work when all components of a project need to have the same "look". Working on a project now that has 100's of pieces of bamboo plywood, neat stuff
, that all need to go through 7-8 steps, before they can finally be assembled. Talk about OCD, NOBODY touches my stuff

the board sing my tunes again.
bamboo plywood huh? cool. my wife's been wanting tatami flooring
in her comic book library.

Your wife has a comic book library? Or was that a joke? I have a little collection of vintage Hulk, Fantastic Four and Thor comics...
PlastiDipped my chrome UJ license plate frame today. Baked my IC diverter and plate. Reinstalled them and my strut bar. Put the Schroth harnesses in and motored for an hour with my 9 year old on my favorite twisty-ish loop here. Blimey's coming together... just need my Chrono Pack face and a polish and will be ready for a new photo shoot.
The PlastiDip door handles and rings have held up fine for a couple of washes now...

blimey- she has a japanese comic library... no joke. there's over 2k books
in her collection.
about 5yrs ago i had to bring back a full
caravan load of book cases from Ikea...that's one pallet worth or 20 cases.

that's good to hear that the plastidip can handle the washes.

It was 4 yesterday during our toy run to Children's Hospital. Cold outside but warm inside.
We had 20 MINIs packed with toys and then we held a raffle for a set of steel wheels and a $300 gift certificate to Discout Tires. We raised $400 and gave that to the hospital as well. We were very popular yesterday.

I thought everyone must be on holiday. They were at the office - just me and the plant waterer. Since I changed companies in November and I'm the newby, I get holiday duty.
Our office closes from x-mas to new years so at least I get that time off.
Anyone going anywhere fun (and warm)?

I get off Christmas Day and New Years Day.
In fact, I got stuck with the late duty next week so I work until 7:00 on New Year's Eve. Dinner reservation is at 8:30.
Yikes.... that's one of several things that keeps me at my current company, in spite of ups and downs... I'm the 4th most "senior" person out of about 250 employees... 18 years... and I'm an individual contributor/consultant these days... so no team to manage, and pretty much work for myself... so as long as I can schedule my customer projects to fit *my* schedule, it's cake. And most of my customers don't want to work around the holidays, either...
But nah.... not going anywhere funnerer than home. Which is pretty fun at Christmas, actually.

18 years is an impressive record Paul. The longest I've stayed with one employer is 8 years. Here recently I've been averaging about 2 years. With the price of oil where it was (not no more) there was a strong demand for engineers so the best way to bump your salary was to jump ship. Now however ...
I hear ya...
Some people say 18 years just means I'm too lazy to look for a job.
I was laughing a few days ago while filling up... at the Shell station, they have the sign on top of the pumps promoting their Mastercard or whatever... says "save 38 cents per gallon!"... Fine print says "based on $3.82 per gallon average price when printed on 7/24/2008"... I was pumping premium for $1.82 at the time... surreal, actually. Hard to believe what prices have done this year...

Crap is right... I've been working on this #%@! application for SIX HOURS now, and probably still have a couple hours left to go... I'm braindead. I quit. Will have to get finished later.
Right now, I'd rather bend over. Seriously.
