so i saw lots of mini's this morning!
Between 7:50 and 8:10am, I saw:
- a Red Mini w/ a silver or white V stripe, on Hunter Mill Rd.
- a Laser Blue Mini crossing over Sunset Hills Rd. in Reston.

Between 8:10 and 8:30 (on Hunter Mill Rd b/w Reston & Oakton):
- DS MC(S?)
- PW MC(S?) w/ black bonnies and roof
- Indi Blue
- Black Clubman

saw a few more, but its 2 hard to remember each one, let alone all the details! Its amazing how many mini's i see every time i drive down hunter mill RD and sunset hills rd. from oakton to reston!!

Amazing how safe you feel in a MINI Leona always thanks Wensley for safe passage. We must remember though that as safe as they are, even MINIs are susceptable to failure - Be careful out there !

Dark blue Cooper S Cabrio on Rt. 28 this morning. Almost ran you over when merging lanes because you decided not to be safe and were driving in the pouring rain without your headlights.

(and no, I wasn't driving my Cooper)

I can't believe the number of clueless morons I see --- including plenty Mini drivers --- driving in pouring rain without headlights on. Don't they notice how hard it is to see other unlighted cars??? On that point, I have found that the auto headlights do not always go on when it rains, even heavily. So, if you use the auto position, please check when it's raining to make sure your lights are on (which is the law in MD).

If you have auto headlights, you have auto wipers -- when the wipers turn themselves on, they automatically turn the headlights on as well! So unless you're driving in the rain without wipers, your lights will be on...

I saw a Yellow Cabrio (unsure of S or not) just a little while ago on 28 near the 270 ramps (Rockville). Top was obviously closed as it's been very crappy weather today.

I also remember seeing another MINI in Rockville along Rt 28 on my way to work this morning (830ish am). Dont recall the color or specs though. I didn't see either of them until it was too late, so i didn't wave and didn't see any waves.

This morning, in HOV lanes on I-395 N, from Edsall Road to Pentagon, 9:00 onward, a gold (not MY) Cooper. I got behind him as I was merging into HOV lanes mostly hung out behind him, although I did get over on the right lane and pulled up even and ahead of the car and waved, without any response at all. Driver just kept staring in front of him, not a head-turn.....weird. Maybe my car didn't registered with him?

I hate when they don't even look... never knew that a Mini could go into stealth mode.

I had 3 rare MINI sightings today. First, on Nebel St. in Rockville I saw the question mark MINI. (www.mlesko.com). Then, I saw a Silk Green Cooper on Rockville Pike and finally, on Connecticut Ave, I saw the illusive Velvet Red Cooper. None were close enough to wave, though.

Well...looks like I'll be going on a little run of my own after work today (since I'm not allowed to go home since apparently the SWAT Team is at our neighbors house!? )

So i'm hoping to spot a bunch of MINI's and tag a bunch as well

maybe i can even get a wave out of someone! *crosses fingers*

Sorry, but this isn't so. I have had to manually switch on the headlights numerous times when it was raining during the day. It often does happen that when it is raining, it is gloomy enough to swithc on the headlights, but not always.

Interesting, must be an R56 thing.

My 2006 R53 MCS DOES have this feature. I even look out for it every time it rains, and it works like a charm.

apparently while i was at work, my roommate came home to find our street blocked off, and the SWAT team running around. from what we heard, our neighbor was drunk and bloody and decided to barracaid himself in his house with 17 guns...and his house backs right up to a school (which made the panic even worse)
i dont know...she told me to check the news ("rodgers forge disturbance"). the neighbors said there were cops, helicopters, etc....so needless to say...im taking my time in going home tonight

So i saw FOUR MINI's tonight in Georgetown. Two tagged.
1.) MCS Pure silver and black, no stripes. Parked somewhere along K street at an apartment complex (?). Tagged.
2.) solid black MCS - no stripes. Driving; no tag. =(
3.) Red JustaCooper, no stripes. Turning left onto K street at stoplight. I think the guy behind us in the crosswalk caused you to miss your turn signal! =(
4.) Blue (not OB or LB, dunno what else there is)MCS Cabrio parked on a street along K street. Tagged.

Can you tell i was along K Street tonight? Free screening tickets to see Iron Man w/ the b/f.

That's silk green, another wonderful "Cooper Only" color, why they limit these great colors to the Coop and not the S is beyond me.......

Had a lady with a MC CR/W with the jack on top next to me this AM, at the same time saw a HB/B MCC. Too much traffic to deal with for waves.

Well, to make up for the missing thrill of boost, they compensate with some additional colors...... just kidding, cooperites. I don't know why they do that any more than why they don't allow certain interior/exterior color combinations, even with complimentary colors.... It's just another part of the "we do it to be difficult because we know you will buy the car anyway" policy.

Well, i shouldnt be allowed any extra boost. I already know the traffic courts all too well....the state has enough of my money from speeding tickets.

no need in giving myself any more temptation
So I'm sticking with my Cooper
