Wish I had more DCMM cards. I ran out long ago. How do I get more of those anyway?

 

Hey, another Del Ray person. Man, I LOVE the Dairy Godmother! We're there probably 3 times a week. We live on Dewitt near the corner of Randolph; my wife drives the green cabrio S with the PIAA lamps.

I don't get the chance to get into the forums too often, but I thought I'd say hi.

Sweet....I was just there last night! The Bordeaux Cherry Cheesecake was awesome. I actually had to order a second cone to feel satisfied!

Ironic, cuz I was thinking about posting a last minute Dairy Godmother run on here to see if anyone would see it.

 

I was debating between the cherry cheesecake custard or the cobbler. Went with the cobbler, but then she asked what flavor of custard to put on top...

Last sunday: PW/B MCS with stripes tailgating at Fedex field. Long distance sighting and I wasn't with my mini so I just admired your mini across the parking lot.

2-3 times a week: PW/B MCS with checkered mirror caps driving around the Alexandria Rosemont and Bev Hills neighborhoods. I've waved. You keep driving.

Today: DS/B MCS with stripes turning off Diagonal road at King St Metro onto Duke street at about 5:30pm. I didn't get my wave out the window quickly enough.

Above doesn't count the 4-5 additional wave-by attempts I make every week in my short commute or running errands.

 

Ok, personal "record" of sightings for a 16 hour period, alas not a single wave. The odd thing is most were MC (R50), just a single MCS (R53) in the group;

All in Northern Virginia/Washington/Alexandria

Monday Sept 17
1) 5PM Silver/Silver MCS (R53) parked at Ned Devine's in Herndon
2) 5:45 PM Silver/White? MC Inbound Chain Bridge (Route 123)
3) 5:50 PM IB/W bonnet stripes MC Southbound George Washington Parkway, DCMMer sticker highside driverside rear window. Ok, you were on the phone so maybe my waving out the roof wasn't possible to respond to.
4) 6:05 PM BRG/W black bonnet stripes MC Parkfairfax area

Tuesday Sept 18
5) 7:50 AM CR/W MC Northbound 395, just beyond Quaker Lane/Shirlington Circle overpass.
6) 8:10 AM CR/CR MC Westbound 66, just before the Glebe Road entrance. Hey, I waved each time we went past each other ... three times! No reply.

If you don't know by now, I could care less if folks don't wave back. It's fun, if you don't get it ... no worries, you won't shackle my buzz over a nice day in a Mini. Nuff said.

 

ds/b mcc headed toward I-66 on the 234 bypass near Gainesville. You were on the phone but waved as you passed me.

I see MINIs all the time around here...but no-one waves

I see the same two MINIs nearly every day on my commute. Took me five months to train one of them to wave. The other one I'm still working on.

This morning on my way to work in my Saturn, I got on the I-395 express lanes at 9:00, where a BRG/W (roof and mirror) MC got on the express lanes with me, at the Edsall Road exit. She has one of those colorful VA license plate, and we were close to each other on the lanes until we got to Pentagon where she split off and I continued on to Crystal City. I tried to give her a a few times but she never made eye contact that I can tell. I was hoping she'd notice my MINI-themed license plate and wave or something, but no luck. Maybe I"ll have better luck once my MINI get here?

As for complaints here about not getting the "Wave", remember we have heavy traffic around here, so we tend to be too busy focusing on driving to look for other MINIs, etc.

 

PW+Checkers...you drove by my house yesterday as I was putting out the garbage....and this morning you turned onto my street as I was on the way to work...you finally waved back! You don't have to look so annoyed.

I'll look for someone in a Saturn waving. BTW, my last car was a '93 SC2.

The gentleman on Russel Rd with a PS/B MC with rally lights and the deadpan bumper sticker waved back as he was getting in to his mini yesterday. Today, a DS MCS merged onto Quaker Lane behind me right before I turned off at Spokes. I would have waved, but I saw you too late and I was trying to coordinate a downshift.

 

Spotted a '07 PW/B MCS in the Safeway parking lot in Bristow at 7:30. Anyone here?

 

5 months?! I've been waving for 5 years .

 

What is the lighter sort of metallic sky blue called? Electric?

Anyway, saw one of those with white roof and license plate B3A5T and Helix, Funktion Auto, LDG stickers on it as well as american flag vinyl below the side vents on both sides, and white Kosei's....you were parked at the professional center off of Rolling and Braddock Roads, today. I actually sat in my car for a good two minutes trying to find a DCMM sticker but didnt see one I was driving my white Acura at the time.

 

Saw a dozen MINIs while out in Salt Lake, I was driving a Mini.......Van, guess that's why there were no return waves ?

 

Wow, after four days of no Wensleydale driving, my wife and I spent all day twisting up around Cunningham Falls. Some great roads up there ! I bet the run there earlier this year was a real treat

Got a wave from a girl in a CR/W MCS with "Jacks" on all the mirrors up in Frederick

And then a little later, Wensley saw this little relative and had to get her picture taken ! Spoke briefly with its owner and then we headed up the path for a nice little walk.

We went there during the Cherry Pickin' run, last June.

Cunningham Falls, Catoctin Mountain, Thurmont area, so much of the hidden gems.

 

Every Friday I drive down 25th Street in Arlington on my way to Chain Bridge. And for the past month I have seen two MINIs parked on this street. Well, this past Friday I finally just pulled over (twice), and got out and tagged em. Both are Coopers. Blue with plates Flat 5th. Red with temporary VA tags. I was out of business cards, so I used club flyers.

 

I saw a nice looking dark blue MCS parked in front of Los Tios in Del Ray last night. Anyone here?

 

Saw a few Mini drivers both Friday and Saturday. No waves . Getting to be a regular thing around here.

Sunday I went for a drive with the Hubby in his Shelby GT500 to Nags Head, NC. We got waves and even one Cobra played with us for a few miles.
