No worries, no offense. I wave (as does missus proto) about 99% of the time, but it seems like that one time you don't, it ends up here.

Sorry, must've missed that one. Thanks for the nice words. I "sorta" put the site together myself. I've done a lot of Flash work in the past, but nothing that plays this much with php.

The "package" here is imagevuex (http://www.imagevuex.com/), and I chose it because I can just drop images in my web space, and it does the rest. But yes... the photos are mine.

10/17, 7:15 AM, Gude Drive and then onto Research Boulevard in Rockville. You were in a Blue and White MC and I was in the CR/W MC behind and then next to you. You have a Maryland tag MCC XXX (Or was it MMC XXX). I honked and you honked back.

0645 am, 17th & Pennsylvania ave (next to the white house) heading north. Solar Red (??? looked burgendy metallic) manual with the Virginia 'lighthouse' yellow/blue plates. Girly driving a stick shift.

Didn't see my Mini, because I'm still in this poo poo buick lacross rental. :impatient

With the M7 grille and sweet PIAA rims? Damn that car is sweet. I kinda chinced on my rims, which were the style I wanted, but the dishes are a little shallow--which isn't apparent in the photos.

Vinyl's looking pretty good, got my black "S" decals in yesterday, so now everything matches. Milltek is screaming, just been a lot of fun lately. I even drove in to work today (concert at the Black Cat tonight), almost makes DC traffic bearable.

Happy to talk photos/site stuff anytime, man. Cheers! tenfifteen@gmail.com

Was it maybe the old Velvet Red color? The Solar Red looks pretty similar to the Chili Red.

There's an old velvet red? Quite possibly then.

I was just at the Safeway in Ashburn a few minutes ago when I passed a parked MINI in the velvet red color. First time I'd seen one in this color. No mistaking it for anything else. I was wondering if it was a custom paint job, but sounds like it used to be a standard color.

Yup, standard up until early 2003, if I remember correctly. Kind of a Dr. Pepper can color.

It was never too popular, but I like it!

You can call it Velvet Red, but I call it "Devil's Food"!

With a white roof, it's a rolling cupcake!

Almost licked the first MINI I saw in that color combination..

Cheers,
Matthew Z.

I hear ya. I usually only post my frustration when it's an obvious "safe wave" situation. In this instance, the girl was stopped at a sign right in front of me and I was obnoxiously waving and flashing...still, she could have been off in never-never land. I visit there sometimes too!

I haven't seen any MINIs on the road lately, but still out lookin!
