Was It You?¿?¿?
I spied with my little eyes...a pepper white MC with a black roof at the FSK Mall in Frederick on Friday. I was about to tag it when I saw that it had a DCMM sticker.
Today when I was driving back from Rockville on 270, I got a honk and a wave from a guy in a blue Toyota Sienna. I think I recognized the driver from the Backroads and Battlefields drive, but I'm not totally certain.

I would have been on it....GW Pkwy is cool
I like driving on it...nice scenary. Plus I live in Alexandria, so convenient access.
I was in Lancaster on Friday and my mini was at MoT all day long. If I don't have a dentist appointment this Friday, I'd be up for a wave-by over lunch. I'm very close to the GW parkway between Old Town and Mt. Vernon.
You were heading S on I-95 near the PA/MD line, just after a toll plaza you were sliming/compressing a tire. I was heading northbound and showed you the 'Emergency - Please Send Help' motoring card. Sorry for not stopping (I really would have!) but I was already cutting it close for a concert in Philly.
Saw a few MINIs yesterday on my way to work and home this morn...Saw a PS MCSC (with your roof UP!!!
) and got a nice wave!
Saw a Red Head in a HB MCS (Not Wendy) and got a wave...guess you have a cousin out there!
And followed a JB/W for about 10 miles...NO WAVE
It is nice to see MINIs on my way to and from work!

Ok, so there's a Chilli red Cooper parked outside the Hyatt near Fair Oaks and I know I've seen pictures of it before. Its got a checkered roof and a large GB sticker on the boot.

But, if it wasn't Saturday morning, then it likely wasn't me. In which case, I'll nonetheless keep waving when I see fellow motorers. (And, of course, hoping that someone posts here that they saw me!)
I got a wave this morning from a blue MCS convertible on the Dulles Toll Road.

(FYI: My employee Will was in court yesterday for a toll road speeding violation. He said EVERY ONE of the 70+ people present were there for toll road speeding tickets. So...watch out!)

I personally believe that if they use the Smart Tag system for speed enforcement, many people will just go back to paying cash. I would, in spite of the increased time factory.
The Smart Tag / EZ-Pass system very easily allows them to track the average speed driving between toll booths. Whether they choose to use that information as the basis for speeding is the curious question I was trying to raise.
If this was Saturday (8/25) around 9:30-ish am, it was probably me. Yay, I've finally been spotted!

I'm sure I might see you around town again. I noticed you live in Del Ray, I live just up the road at Mt. Vernon and S. Glebe.

Where did Dan or I say anything about cameras?

ohh.....sorry....thought you were coming at this from another angle.....the cameras on the tollbooths or something else setup in between....radar/camera/Smart Tag. There are unmanned mobile emissions 'sniffers' setup that automatically ding you if you are running catless...figured it was the same thing.
my point was unmanned methods of speed control aren't enforceable in VA unless something changed recently.
As to the toll-road speed thing, of just measuring your average speed between known toll-booth distances, I'm sure there is a reason this isn't used in the U.S., but as far as I know it's not. It is in Japan, I believe.

CR/W Cooper with flag on the side mirror, on 198 west bound @ 2.40pm. I was on the other side. I saw the wave but before I could wave back, it's too late already.
I will be quicker next time, I promise.
