My guess is that you are probably not one of the ones you have seen posted here. I live in Crystal Lake and travel between here and Dundee and Geneva and I was only spotted once by someone who posted here.

On the other hand, maybe I have seen you and you have seen me. I have generally not posted here much and especially lately.

So you can look for and EB/W MCS (Electric Blue with White roof MINI Cooper S) with black bonnet stripes and Union Jack mirrors and I'll look for you. What color combo is yours? I'll start posting my sightings in the area.

8:20 this morning- PW/W MCS headed northbound on 12 in fox lake by the dealerships...i waved...no wave.

10:15am- sassy lady and gentleman getting into their LY or MY MCS in the Jewel in Wauconda. I beeped as i tried to park near you...but i dont think you knew it was me.

• HB/B MCSC sb Arlington Hts Rd/Golf Rd @ 7:40am -- top down!!

 

Although I have been around for a while I was wondering how the abbreviations for Lighting Blue and Laser Blue were distinguished.

Yesterday On route 31 northbound between Carpentersville and Algonquin an EB/W MCS was behind me. This one was easy to remember because it was like mine.

 

Spotted several MINIs on the North Shore today.. no waves except for:

Spotted on the way home after the Skokie Parade:

LB/W MCS R56 on Lincoln Ave/Austin... you looked confused due to the detours from the MG Parade route.. I passed you heading nb on Lincoln

not a MINI, but spotted a silver Smart Car near Dempster/Waukegan Rd. Tried to catch up to take a pic, but lost it when it crossed waukegan rd...

 

i exchanged a wave with a CR/B down Rt59 in downtown barrington
a few days ago in the morning... i think i was like 10am or so.

 

7/4 - 1pm CR MCS Cabrio parked at Jesse Oaks in Grayslake
Today - 830am HB MCS Cabrio parked at 100 Tri-State International Lincolnshire

 

Now that I am working from home. I rarely spot as much as I use to. On the other hand I am spending less on gas so I feel less guilty when motoring around on the weekends.
Anyway, MiniMac2005, if you really want that pic of the Smart Car. When I was working in Park Ridge, I saw it almost on a daily basis parked on Manor Lane, between Northwest Hwy and Potter Rd. Is part of that triangle-shaped block.

Got a wave from a CR/W R53 inside the ring at Fermilab today

 

Saw one of the Red Bull MINIs at the corner of Damen and Polk this afternoon, and yesterday someone in a red MINI passed me on I-57 heading away from Chicago around 3:30 pm.

 

So small you missed it! Seriously, parked next to it and my MCS felt huge.

 

Thanks for the info toastie not that I want to stalk the little car... a candid shot was what I was aiming for.

This was the first time I've seen one on the road up here. One of the rear tail lights were out (don't ask...)

I don't go by that way much unless I'm going to your place... or my Mom's for that matter I've seen MINIs there and at the one on Lincoln near Devon. I've yet to see and Elise there

Looked in my mirrors and saw CoolBlue2 tailing me up Rt. 41 from Dundee to Rt. 22 this morning.

This afternoon
Exchanged waves and cruised up I290/RT53 with a MY/B tinited with bonnet stripes and
got a wave from a young lady in PS/B MC Lake Cook @ RT53 and
gave a wave to an RG/B MCS on RT59 while I was following an M5

 

Just walked by a Cool Blue drop top Parked on Damen outside Meritage restaurant. Cute!

 

I think it was 11 I spotted today. Driving from just W. of Damen on Webster, E. over to Halsted, N. on Halsted to where it hits Clark, and home again on the same route. I saw 3 blue ones (two laser/w I think, one Lightning/b I think) 2 different red colors, Cream, BRG, Black and a gold one. One of the blues had license smurfft (I think) and the darker red was parked just around the corner from my house. Later on in the evening, walking S. of Damen and then down Milwaukee, we saw two more (not sure of colors, one was black/black). I think I need to stop counting, there are too many!

 

We had a trio of coopers heading south on I-94 around Lamb's Farm, me in my CR/B MCS, a MCc S, and a LY/W Cooper. We had a nice little caravan for a few miles there.
