What an unbelievable day to motor!!! had the day off and simply zipped around the NS... and yes.. I drove up Sheridan Rd Everything was perfect, except for the deafening sound of the cicadas!!!

^ we have NO cicadas here. at all. but, my friend works in evanston and he said the same thing- deafening.

 

^ the little buggers really make a lot of noise!!! unlike the other cicadas, these guys make noise during the daytime!! I had my top down all day today. The cicadas were louder than driving 60 mph on the Edens!!!

 

We have none that I can hear in eastern Evanston.

 

We dont have any in Round Lake Beach, Thank God. I was in Lemont today with the windows up, AC on, radio too, and could still hear the dang things. Had to drop the windows just to hear how loud they really are, WOW.

 

Park Ridge has some mad cicadas. Thats a consequence of living in "Tree City USA". Seriously, we have some award called tree city usa. and as a result we have a massive amount of cicadas.

 

Glenview is also Tree City USA (I saw a sign somewhere...) the only place nearby that doesn't have them is in the Glen because its so new... the little buggers !!!

 

Saw the few local MINIs this afternoon after my wash.

Monday Morning MINI Madness.

Hit the 120 on ramp to the Toll going south at 1030am today to find a white MINI from MN, then got passed by a black S cab from WI, driven by a Cougar

The Cougar and I drove together south till I hit 88 west.

Along the way, not one, but two yellow MINIs north, then a blue one, and then a silver one. Hit the parking lot and found two more all before 1130am.

 

I got a big smile and wave from CoolBlue2 this morning, even though I was on the motorcycle instead of the MINI!!

 

@8am CR MCS Cabrio w/ white bonnet stripes on 83 in Lake Villa, a little closer and we could have high-fived

@810am PW/B MCS on 137 by the dump. Couldn't tell if I got a wave back or not.

Of course I saw 5 or 6 yesterday while I was driving the loaner between Grayslake and Lincolnshire, so no waves.

 

jughead- what does your mini look like? sounds like we motor around the same area...

........i "Really" wish i knew the color (blue, red, sparkling, etc) that went along with each of these codes. i live in Algonquin and wonder sometimes if i have been refered to in this post. i wave whenever i see a mini and there are many mini's in the Algonquin, Lake In The Hills, & St. Charles area. i need help
