My wife works downtown, sent me these pictures this morning.

 

your picture of the Dyson Mini makes me happy for two reasons...1 I own a Dyson vacuum and cold and hot fan that they make...and 2 Dyson has chosen a Mini for their ride and that makes them awesome...lol just love it...I want to an old school Mini like that to my collection...1 day...1 day...:-)

I've seen a couple as I ride to work, one red convertible on Grass Lake Road, and a white Clubman turning onto Rt. 45 from Grass Lake. No waves :( If anyone sees a Moonwalk Grey with the plates PRICKLY, that's me!

 

Waved to red "S" with black stripes behind me at Palatine rd and Rohwling rd yesterday. Nice car, anyone here?

 

Spotted and waved at a GP today on Ashland.

 

Spotted a blue 1st Gen Cabrio on Eastbound I290 @ Cicero this AM. Unfortunately, it was on the back of a flatbed. Looks like the car behind it didn't stop in time. Hope the driver was OK

 

Got a wave back from a lady in a white Countryman at Niles West High School..
I could tell from her expression that she was totally surprised and not ready for a wave.

 

I can never get a wave out of anyone... I see 5-10 Minis on my way to and from work (Des Palines to Libertyville via 294) and none of them wave back!!! :(

 

I might have just bought that car, today. How many could be in the area?

 

I look over at ALL MINI's and only once in a blue moon are they looking back. I try to wave or flash my flashers as I pass them. Most waves back in a day is 2. My car is dressed up for Christmas right now with antlers and lights around the roof but still no mini waves :( I did get a couple of thumbs up and some picture taking

 

Saturday I pulled in behind a Black MINI on Lake Shore Drive, heading south. Then, a Blue MC S pulled ahead of both of us into the same outside lane. For a few minutes, it was the 3 of us, me in my Pepper White Clubman behind the two smaller MC's. The Blue S was on a mission, I stopped sticking behind them when they possibly hit 70mph on LSD.... You tend to stick out on Lake Shore Drive when you drive that far over the speed limit....

 

I saw a spice orange roadster today near Burr Ridge. Not once, but twice on Plainfield rd. He didn't see me on the way in, but did give me a wave as I was going the other way over 2 hours later.

 

Had a couple thumbs up from passers by as I was driving downtown last weekend. I really do think less and less MINI owners are waving. I've come to the conclusion that if you're a MINI driver (Minnie Driver) and you don't wave, then you're a dooty-head. 😉 The MINI is cooler than the owner in that case. 😎

 

I only get strange looks if I wave, so I now just look admiringly at the other MINI....
I keep it low key....

 

I try to keep low key... but the green wheels and open header pipes happen to say hi before I see you!

I've been keeping a mental not of the drivers that actually wave and what type they drive. I'd say about 90% of the following are driven by middle-aged women and they either don't wave or are ready to call 911 if they see you waving...
- Mini Cooper
- Mini Countryman

The rest of the Mini's are mostly driven by men, and most of them don't wave... I've had my MCS for over a year and gotten MAYBE 10 waves. I pass 5-10 Mini's a day. All of which were by men and not one single woman waved or even acknowledged my wave. I don't think that they are aware of the wave that Mini owners have!!! :(

We'll have to add a graphic wrap on our cars that states we're not stalkers........ Maybe ECS Tuning can work on that...

 

Got my first wave the other day. Fellow Clubman, yellow, waved at me. I was so surprised to get my first MINI wave that I almost didn't return the favor/wave...

 

Not so much as a spotting, but a request FOR a spotting... Anyone seen my old Gloss Orange 2003 Cooper S? I sold it about a year ago, I've heard through the grapevine the owner blew up the motor. I want it back... the inner skins of the car are British Racing Green. If anyone knows where it went, please let me know.. That car was nearly hand built.

I recently just moved back from florida last week and am trying to get back into the MINI/ car scene again up here!
