I'm gonna have to try to make it out to Superdawg next weekend. Will have to run it by the lady and see if she wants to come with.

If I see any Mini's trying to fly by me I'll be forced to assume it's a challenge and have to proceed giving it the beans to maintain the lead. LOL

I drive 45 thru Mundelein everyday on my way to work, and I usually wave at a MINI or two...seems like fewer waves in return these days though. I'm the 1st gen Indi Blue/White MCS...which will soon be a Pepper White/Black MINI Clubman.

LOL, that's ok too, but you'll lose I do the same thing. If a MINI passes me I dog them like the Italian Job. Unless of course I see an opening and steal the lead

Maintain the Lead??!! Every morning and every night is a challenge..!! Besides ACTUALLY trying to get to work, the potholes, and road construction horses all over the road have AUTOCROSS written all over them!! I run 355 south to 80 every morning.. Its only time until the green wheeled machine finds you!!

I'm not out that far west too often, but I have friends that live out that way so I'm out there on weekends sometimes.

My commute is south and east. I go from Hickory Hills to Chicago Heights for work, so I doubt there's much chance I'll see you all during the week. If I do, it'll be while I'm driving my work truck.

That's not an accomplishment to be proud of. The 0-60 on this truck is like 45 seconds hahahah.

Saw a black roadster with the top down near Yorktown shopping mall. (22nd & Highland, in Lombard). She didn't see me as I was behind a big truck. Nice to see another R59 in the area!

I think Chicago land MINI owners are against waving... I swear.

I wave all the time, hanging my arm out the window if it's open, even flashing my lights if I feel like it.

I think in all this time (year or so) I've gotten maybe 2 waves back, and 1 was from a very confused person.

i stopped waving due to lack of reciprocation. I felt like a tool waving and getting a blank stare in return. i still wave but only to certain driver demographics now.

Hmmm what demo graphics are you looking for?

The only thing I look at is that you have a mini, and you don't look like you'd beat me up for waving at you.

typically only those with 'S' or 'JCW' models with any visible mods (wheels, tints, lowered, etc). I never got much reaction from mom's in justa's. I will say if I catch a wave when not expecting it, I do my best to give one back, even if late to the game.

Ok, then I'm a candidate for waves.

I was going to say, "Sorry I'm not blond with big hooters..." but you went a different way with your demographics.

I would say I get a higher percentage of reciprocated waves from Gen1 owners (probably original owners as well), and those with modded MINIs. I pass a Chili Red Gen2 Cooper S on my way home from work almost every day, I always flash a wave...no response. Ever. One of these days I'll realize it's pointless. I must say, it has been a few months since I have gotten a reciprocated wave, and I see a fair number of MINIs on my daily commute...usually 2-3 at least.

The lack of wave reciprocation was bound to happen eventually though. As the MINI became more popular, and more are sold, the percentage of "enthusiasts" owners will be lower. Thus those aware of the MINI-wave will be lower in percentage. I still wave though...then curse at them when they don't wave back.

I recently had a reciprocating wave like that, which I still appreciated. We both had our windows open, I waved, then looking in my side rearview mirror after he passed I saw a delayed wave out his window....gave me a smile....moral to the story, its never too late :P
