I'm a 65+ and I always wave. I'd say I get about a 20% response.

 

I can't believe I've been lurking around the forums since August and I just found this thread.

If you see a pure silver S with pink bonnet stripes and mirror caps, throw out a wave! I always try to wave, but it's sometimes pretty obvious who's got a mini for the fun and who has one to get from point A to point B.

I live in Hoffman and work in Oakbrook, so lots of travel between the two.

 

I work in Barrington, I'll keep an eye out for you! Just look for the motoring heart grille badge!

 

I am out and about now too (mostly around the Palatine/NW Burbs area) in a midnight black jcw - im still testing the waters on this waving thing; so if I miss you please do not take any offense!

 

Last Saturday I was running several errands when a thought popped into my head that waving was officially dead. Haven't had a wave from another Mini in months. Within two minutes I exchanged waves with a PW/W R56 heading Eastbound on Chicago Ave near Harlem in Oak Park. Thanks for restoring my faith!

I saw a blue R53 (forgive me I don't know the exact color names for the past models) the other day. Gave a late wave as I was paying attention to traffic...

 

Coming home from work the other day inbound on the Edens. I noticed a blue R56 with black bonnet stripes flying up on my rear. I figured he was gonna pass me and wave seeing as we were the only 2 minis on the road. When he flew past at about 80MPH did he wave? NO...his index finger was 2 knuckles deep in his nose! He should really tint his windows if hes gonna drive a mini and act like that.

BTW. I drive home to the city from Palatine in the mornings. 09 PW/B JCW with fat custom stripe and black on black checkered roof. Usually covered in bird poop also. :/

 

White stripes/roof. I also have the gear shaped Motoring Hearts grille badge. From the rear I have a "Namaste" decal on the upper left of the glass, and an M7 Decal on the right. Oh and I have a white antenna ball with Union Jacks on each side.

 

Got a smile and wave from a guy in a BRG/B Clubman S heading south on Edens this afternoon..

If Buffalo Grove wasn't so intent on collecting revenue from this Click it or Ticket program, I might not have been sitting in traffic, rather driving in traffic!! Should have seen all 9 of the officers standing in a parking lot. I figured, what the heck -- how fast did I think the MINI really goes...... Figured now was the time to find out!!!

 

Yesterday headed west on Cook in Libertyville around 6pm I saw a:

Black Clubman with the plates "BULLET". I would have waved but I was in the van with my momz.

Then, Sunday around 10 I saw a CR/W<?> MCS driving west on Appley in the LBV. I waved, you gave the thumbs up. Thanks!

This morning walking into my store I overheard a woman outside starbucks talking about her dog "Yeah, his name is Bentley... my husband and I love cars so our other dog is named Cooper." It made me smile.

Got a couple waves today!!

PW/PW R56 on Waukegan south of Rt. 22 and a CR/CR R56 on Rt. 41 south of Rt. 22.

Also spotted a Hot Chocolate Clubman on Rt. 41 with a hood ornament (looked like a dog or a horse, couldn't tell from where I was)

 

Saw to black S's while traveling down West Bartlett Rd. Looks to be husband and wife. Was on my way to The Rover Shop

Spotted last night after dinner. Two fellow motorists decided to keep my R53 company.

 

I wave to just about every Mini I see. I probably get a 40% wave back rate. Im in Chili Red R53, blacked out, and now with black and white Checkmate Checkers. Im out in the Crystal Lake area but commute to Vernon Hills 4 days a week. Usually down Rt 14 & Rt 22! Keep an eye out and wave if ya see me!
