Northbound on LSD - saw a RED BMC Mini w/ white roof, right hand drive - a rare find especially in the salt pothole laden Lake Shore Drive - this cat was buzzing along when I caught up to him - me in my black 06 MCS R53 - he must've seen me creeping up, or he must've had some work done because I came to about 50 yds of his rear and next thing I know he was GONE, granted I had to slow down to exit off Belmont Ave, but still, it was a thrill and pleasure to see the ancestor of my car, alive and buzzing along - give me a toot on if you see me, black 06 R53 MCS white bonnet stripes, white roof, plate starts with VBE, am always driving around the Northside of Chi - Happy Motoring!

 

This morning at 8:30am on Ela Rd. I saw a dark silver cooper heading towards Palatine Rd. I waved, you waved, good start to a day!

 

That definitely wasn't me, I was in bed drinking tea!

But I did see Dustin the other day. I always see MINIs at those tracks, its like a vortex.

And then just a bit down the road I saw a DS clubman. I waved and you looked confused.

Coming from Libertyville that day I think I passed 4 MINIs, that's some sort of record for this time of year!

 

Bought a used 2003 MCS Dark Silver in September. Spotted and exchanged waves several times with a red MCS on Short Street in Lisle (near Lisle High School).

 

Got a wave this morning from a guy in a CR/W R56 while I was hanging out at the Full Moon Restaurant on Rt 41 near RT. 137

 

Have a couple spottings. Saw two Minis this morning, another R53 with zippy31 as the plate and a newer dark/silvery/blue Just-a-Cooper on the highway driving in to work. Stuck with the guy on the highway and pulled next to you to give a friendly wave but you seemed in the zone so I motored on.

There's also a BRG mini that parks next to me on the top level of the Union Station/Amtrak garage in the city. Left them a note to join the community here.

I see soo many minis and exchange waves but none are on here. I see alot on 88 and 290 and 90. Also on randall rd

 

I always wave, but I'm not on the road too much these days. I need shocks really bad, but first I need a job...

If you know anyone who has a retail store, I am offering (pro bono!) visual merchandising and display art so I can get more stuff in my portfolio.. and then hopefully get a job and do some mighty fine motoring

 

I've seen a MINI almost every day! Almost every trip actually. It's getting ridiculous. haha, my boyfriend calls my sightings "The Cooper Troopers!" and likes to tell me they're (or in this case, you guys) are all WATCHING me.

I drive a laser blue 2009 MINI Cooper S with black roof and black bonnet stripes. Live near Skokie/Niles/Lincolnwood. My own neighborhood (I'm in Chicago) has just recently seemed to have a MINI Cooper population explosion. I stopped by and talked to two new owners today and we all laughed about it. I think I was the first though (in my neighborhood...) bought mine in July of last year.

And this would be my first post, I expected a thread full of cellphone photos or something though haha.

Im in Rogers Park and drive around the Northwest side of the city/suburbs. If you see me wave. I usually wave to minis, but most are oblivious.

Just got back from San Francisco for a long weekend and I counted a total of 70+ Coopers. It was awesome!!

 

Twin car (DS/W MCS) driven by a dude heading west on 137/Butterfield in Libertyville today around 2.

 

I driven that every day this week in my DS/W MCS, but in the evenings on the way home.

Today I saw a twin to my Clubman - HC/S parked on 7th Street in Racine while I was walking at lunch.

I was Westbound on LakeCook Rd around 7:30AM at Saunders/Sanders. Saw a CR JCW going Eastbound. I was in my truck so didnt wave. Ive only seen one other JCW besides mine so wanted to mention it and say hi if youre here.

 

Got a "look" from a PW/B R56 JCW at the Touhy toll plaza on 294.

I was in the CVT Cooper and too slow to get back up to speed after the toll booth.. Sorry

 

Rt. 64 & Randall Road area in St. Charles? Exchanged waves with what I think was a DS/B R56 with bonnet stripes heading EB on Rt 64. Hard to tell though, the sun was gleaming off of the paint so bright that it was hard to tell for sure what I was looking at. How on earth do you keep a car that clean this time of year?

We were in my wife's 2009 salt gray (actually CR/W) Cooper.

 

DS/B MCS yesterday in Fox Lake by the train station.

 

Pretty nice light blue (electric blue?) with custom exhaust cruising down 290 West to the burbs, just outside the loop... Stuck in traffic..

 

DS day on Saturday. I let a DS cut in before we got on Rte 53 from Lake Cook around 7:00 a.m. and passed up a broke down DS/W on Golf Rd just outside of Woodfield Mall around 4:45 yesterday afternoon.

 

Chili Red with B/W bonnet stripes. I was heading back home in my Pure Silver R53 from my friends place in Crystal Lake on 176. Both of us waved,

 

Keep a lookout for an R56 Chili red with black bonnet stripes and black roof in Skokie. My aunt joined the Mini family just this past weekend!
