Yep.. If you like, feel free to come on out to an event or two and check us out first to see if you like us. Only restrictions on that would be at events where we offer discounts/extra benefits to our members (like last months Auto Show event)

In March we will be out and about at the new Bill Jacobs BMW showroom with the Windy City BMW club. We will be doing our Spring Drive in Wisconsin on April 17th, which is typically a really big event.

I got a smile and a wave from a lady in a CR/B R56 exiting Rt. 41 at Rt. 22 on the way to work.

I honestly think that was my Aunt! I was misinformed, she hadn't gotten her stripes yet. She is getting those installed this weekend. Shortish black/brown hair?

 

Not sure, just remember mittens and a smile. she was turning east on Rt. 22 and I was waiting to turn west.

DS/W MCS...we played tag on 41 in Lake Bluff until I exited... sorry to ruin all the fun, it was great while it lasted.

I must say you have good taste. Black wheels? Me too... but I have my ugly snow boots on still.

 

I've just seen A LOT lately. Way too many to count. Only about 3 waved though. NW suburbs are full of too many snobby, "i'm above waving to a stanger" Mini drivers.

 

Spring has finally sprung!

As we were driving home from New Buffalo area we spotted 31 MINIs between Michigan and home. A refreshing site. Time to uncover ours and get ready for the Dragon!

 

Both sightings were in Palatine, IL.

At approx. 5:15pm I saw a Pepper White JCW R53 on Roselle Rd. north towards Palatine Rd. We both waved. Then at about 6:05pm on Quentin Rd. heading north, I saw a BEAUTIFUL electric blue classic with large fenders, and what sounded like a supercharger under the hood. Hands down best looking/sounding Mini I have ever seen. I honked and waved, you were going pretty fast and didn't see/wave.

 

Today 10:30am Gilmer Rd.

Almost everyday I get waved at and wave back to an older gentleman in a Blue Cabrio Cooper on Roselle Rd. in Palatine. Thanks for being so friendly!

Spotted today: SRICHS eb on Lake Cook Rd by Arlington Hts Rd around 8:15am... not sure if you saw me headed wb...

 

The problem with waving is that 90% of MINI owners in the burbs are 45+ year old soccer moms, and are not on NAM. Not knocking anyone over 45, Im just sayin'...

I am not 45+ or a soccer mom!!! So, I'll wave (when I get my JCW in about 2 weeks).

This is similar to 'the motorcycle wave'... I tried to wave to everyone, but you could always tell the types who could care less if you acknowledged them or not. I never let a no reply wave bother me!

Haha, my boyfriend and I always argue about who drives MINIs... he says its a bunch of old dudes and soccer moms with a handful of us 20-30 somethings peppered in.

Everytime one goes by, he's always like "Who's in the driver's seat? TOLD YA!" ...this and his refusal to wave is why he doesn't get to drive my car

 

im a 22 year old male that drives one. out here in western suburbs theres alot of ppl under 30 driving them.

 

I saw you... unfortunately YOU were actually moving in traffic, while I was sitting in traffic, watching the cute girl in the car next to me eat an ice cream cone ...um... at 8:15 in the morning!!!!

Also spotted today...Blue/Silver Clubman (tinted windows) at Wilke/Dundee Rd at 1pm. Got a wave from the driver

 

Hey, I'm a 42 year old guy and I always wave. Some people just seem to cranky for waving.

 

Got a wave today from a Skokie police officer in a Nightfire Red/Black Cooper

 

There are tons of 20-30 somethings who drive Minis, but (in the burbs especially) its mostly nostalgic baby boomers who want a retro car (WV Bug, etc). Nothing wrong with it, but I get tons of blank stares when I wave to anyone over 45.

 

Last Sunday at around 3:45pm, I spotted Tamara in my rear view mirror on 294N approaching Dempster. I can recognize that spotted roof a mile away, okay more like a half mile. She didn't notice at first because she was in a conversation with her passenger, but I slowed down, honked, and exchanged waves. Of course, you can always count on getting an excited and bubbly wave from her!
