new member here to the Mini forum from Lake Zurich. In this wearther im usually driving my Jeep but ill be sure to look out of all of you on the road when in the Mini

 

Spotted a LY/W? first generation Mini on national news. Couldn't determine more specifics because of the snow cover. It looked like this was on of the cars stranded on LSD during the blizzard.

 

I was stuck in traffic on Edens behind a jacknifed semi-truck this morning for an hour and a half or so..

MINISTI2005 saw me while he was heading southbound, and gave me a call to say howdee (and to let me know what was happening ahead, and warn me I was going to be there a while).

Fun to be spotted

 

yeah.. I saw that also on WGN 9 news last night. they were one of the many cars stranded on LSD. Hopefully they got their MINI back ok.

 

I saw him this morning too as he was headed west on Old Orchard as I was headed into the Eden's nightmare.

 

Spotted my first Countryman today on the way home from work. Followed it up the Austin exit from the Westbound Eisenhower. S/B Countryman S with a Bears and a Blackhawks logo on the rear hatch.

 

I drive an 04 Electric blue with white top & white hibiscus stripes. Grumpy decal on back window. Wave if you see me! I also have a vortex blue beetle so I know about waving but don't seem to get them back :( I'm usually on 53/355, 90 & 55, 88 too.

 

Hi Francis what exhaust are you running on that cabrio it sounded badder than I remember when you pulled out of the Mobil yesterday, That a milltek?

 

Hey Eric. actually.. its the stock muffler (although I might be needing a new one since the outer shell is starting to rust). It might be the DDM/Works intake doing most of the noise you heard. From what I've been told, it sounds pretty cool

btw...good to see you. and $55 to fill-up yesterday. yikes!!

 

Just joined this site and this group caught my attention! I see MINI's everywhere ever since I recently became a MINI motor advisor and have one of my own Its so great to see them zipping around everywhere or parking in the smallest spots where normal cars cant fit

Northside!!! this is Chicago you know... Capone.. voting early and often.. besides, with 3 dealerships in the area and a 4th opening in Chicago-proper, its nice to know where everyone is coming from.

 

Spotted a lady in a yellow R56 with offset stripes blasting through the ravines on Sheridan road this morning. No wave because I was on the motorcycle, but she looked like she was having a good time..

 

That's my favorite stretch of road in all of Chicagoland! Got a ticket from a motorcycle cop there last summer in my Mazda3.

My Clubbie frequents Evanston these days, and seems to be in good company!

 

Well, I could say I spotted a DS/W MCS... But I guess if I'm now driving it? After the search for a replacement of the last, and sucking out the 9 inches of water out of the floor...

You'd better wave... Granted I'm sporting a set of WI tags right now...

59 and Butterfield Road. 7:00pm ish.. Spotted a carful of GORGEOUS women driving a PS/B Convertible, with the top down!! I waved, but sadly got no wave in return.... Sunday wasn't funday...

 

Spotted my first Countryman in the wild!!!!

Yesterday around 6pm right in front Import Service Center in Glenview (Lehigh/Chestnut). I passed it (red Countryman S) as she was waiting for the light. I looked in the mirror and noticed the look on her face when she recognized I was in a MINI too. As she approached me (she had a green left-turn light) I stuck my hand out to wave. She honked and waved back. nice!

A shame I wasn't out and about with the "S" loaner Jacobs gave me for 3 days. I have to admit, for a small family or you're in the retired set, this is the perfect vehicle.

OT, sadly no MINI spotting on 294 or 88 today other than my own.

 

I don't have a NB anymore. We've had 3 NBs over the past 10 years, but I parted out the last one in 2008.
