Most MINI's I pass don't wave, but I've had some good response the last week or so. In Racine a woman in a red MC regularly waves at me when we pass each other.
A few weeks ago a yellow S raced up from behind me as I headed south on 41. Of course I'm thinking he wants to acknowledge the other MINI, but no he was just driving like an idiot and didn't even give my MINI a glance. LOL

That was THEMightyMini behind me too thought you guys looked familiar. But our cars get stares when on the road together so I wasn't sure.

 

quite a bit of driving this weekend.... traveled up to MPLS friday afternoon only to return home sat afternoon. spotted several MINIs while traveling on 90 west in IL, WI and MN. No waves going to MN.

On Sat... took the scenic route back by taking 90 east and tried to pass through Lake Geneva before heading home.. but the detours made the trip too long and we didn't pass.

I did get a wave from a MINI-ful of people on 12 before 173 - SS/B MCS around 330pm?.. you were stuck in that awful traffic heading toward Lake Geneva... Then another wave from CR/B MCS nb on Gilmer Rd near 63.. I think. Thanks for the waves

6:30pm- PW/B MC(S)? parked in the MVP parking lot in Spring Grove.

There aren't too many MINIs I see out that way aside from a HO MCC and a RG/S MCS that is often parked at the INGLESIDE metra. So when I do see one, its very exciting, because I get strange looks from non-MINI drivers. People still ask me "What IS that car?!" .....

 

Next week you can add another DS MCSC to the "out this way"

I saw (and waved at) a pepper white cooper with checkered stripes on McCoy in Aurora on Wednesday around 4:30ish...(I think it was Wednesday)

And then I'm certain the same Mini parked next to me behind Potter's Place in downtown Naperville Thursday night!! I mean, how many peppered white minis with checkered stripes are there??

• 8/14 - DS/B MCS - Arlington Hts Rd exit for wb I-90. Passed you around 5pm also spotted an OB/W MCS? with numbers on the doors and tag starting with "FILM ##" parked at work... must have been there for training??
• 8/16 - PW/B MCSC - eb Golf Rd near Arlington Hts Rd at 3pm. Top-down, thanks for the waves

Ironically since I have had Maddie, I have seen very few MINIs

1:55 290E MCc MY no acknowledgement even when driving alongside. Even worse he committed a mortal sin of motoring with top up.

Heading to the loop today via Sheridan....not doubt I will see a few MINIs on that scenic trip

 

yesterday there were SO many MINIs along 21 and 41 in gurnee yesterday! But, I was in my BF's truck.

THursday I saw 3 MINIs parked end to end on N. Damen in Wicker Park around 4 PM. It was amazing.

 

Headed into the loop today via Sheridan Road. Started in Round Lake and picked up Sheridan at Buckley. Saw 8 MINIs the whole day, thought I would see more. Of the 8, only three waves and they were all CR.

 

I do love motoring, but that's not what gets me around. (Chicago traffic != my idea of fun.) I just get restless around WI every once in awhile and go to visit friends and family in Chicagoland on the weekends.

That's still a pretty good hit rate.

So today, I was passed by a lady in a PS MCS as she moved to turn right onto Lincoln from Peterson eastbound (no wave); but later in the evening as I headed west on Peterson a fellow in a PW MINI heading east waved (I was looking in his direction and nodded back).

 

Saturday I exchanged waves with an R53 CR/CR with Iowa plates heading SB on Ridgeland in Oak Park.

 

Exchanged waves with Torobud this morning on Rt 53 just south of Thorndale.

 

Spotted today - 8/27...

not one.. but two NFR/B MC on the way home today. Both on Golf Rd. 1st one at Golf/River Rd @ 6:30pm.. 2nd at Golf/Shermer a few minutes later. Pretty cool

 

A little belated, but last Sunday a R56 Yellow (not sure the exact color name), turning left from Roselle on to Higgins in Hoffman Estates rolled down his window to WAVE!

Totally cool!!

Got a wave northbound on the Edens this morning from a DS/W MCS with a JCW wing and 4 giant lights in the front lower grill. I saw the CMMC sticker but didn't recognize who it was.

 

I have seen this car in evanston also.

 

well, one thing is for sure. They have great taste in auto color.
