A few people are still waving..

I got a wave today from a lady in a CR/W MC on Waukegan road, and yesterday from a SB/W MCS on Rt. 41!!

 

SB/W? You can't get SB with white from the factory--just body color or silver roof--are you sure it wasn't silver? I would have done SB/W if it was available.

 

Very sorry .. That was a Hyper Blue/White I saw, not Space Blue.

You are correct, Space Blue does not come with a White Roof (my bad, I will promptly go outside and stick my fingers in the power steering fan as punishment)

I wasn't trying to be nasty; I was about to have a breakdown though if you actually did see a SB/W--I wanted to do that combo, but on no uncertain terms could I get it from the factory. Went DS/W instead (Still waiting impatiently for the car). I would have been a tad po'd though if somehow someone was able to get SB/W from the factory.

And if you really want to do damage to your fingers, go for a Hummer's power steering fan--you wouldn't want to mess up your Mini's fan, and it'll be no great loss on the Hummer....

 

Saw a grey/white S turning off of Central in Arlington Heights (Arl Hts Rd ?) last night around 5 pm. I'm in a hyper blue/black Convert S (imagine kenchan's in a convertible, I have the aero and driving lights too... scary). They pulled up next to me and didn't even glance over. I see the fish MC al lthe time.

Apologies if I've been seen and didn't wave, but I'm usually concentrating on how to get around the cars in front of me.

I still need to get to some local events, but always seem to have something going on when they are happening.

 

I'm a chicagoland mini driver!! I make it my duty to wave at every Mini driver I see :smile: I'd say the large majority wave back. It puts the biggest smile on my face when them wave back

 

I got a hearty yesterday from a MCS BRG/W at Landmeier/Arlington Hts Rd around 12:30 pm... Haven't seen the fishy MCS lately on Golf Rd (I think she said she commutes from Evanston).. then again, it's so dark after work, I wouldn't know if I passed her

Hoping to make the cruise in a few weeks :smile:.

 

Was spotted by (and spotted) an EB/B MCS with black bonnet stripes headed northbound on I-94 near the Steel Bridge a lillte after noon today. Its been a long time since someone waved at me first.

 

Went back to Polo and Dixon this past weekend for my mom's funeral. Didn't see the all-black MCS in Polo, but I did spot a Gold/Black Cooper at a house on Rt 26 north side of Dixon. Anyone here? Having come from California, seeing so many MINIs, it's amazing to see so few when I'm in Il.

I saw a blue (not sure which blue) Cooper with strips driving southbound on Army Trail Rd in Bloomingdale this morning around 10:30am. I was driving a RG/S Mini northbound.

Where did you get your windows tinted?

 

Spotted: MCS BRG/W with Union Jack on the roof. Around 11:30 am today @ Beisterfield and Arlington Hgts Rd. Got a nice wave from the driver

 

I was spotted by ames330 on my way home while trolling in the slow lane on Edens Expressway (I was following a non-waving person in a DS/B MCS).

Spotted an EB/W with white strips leaving a strip mall on Dundee just west of Rand Road. Wish that color were still available!

 

Spotted : HO/B MCC @ Arlington Hts Rd (just south of 90).

SPOTTED! 2002 DS/B MCS (JCW) getting winter wheels at the Firestone in Schaumburg. Didn't exactly wave but enjoyed a waiting-room conversation with the owner. Too bad I was driving the Caravan that morning!

FYI...what's up North Shore? Don't N.S. MINIs know how to wave anymore???? (at least around the Skokie area) I stopped trying cuz I got no love coming back to me!

hey everyone...im not from chitown but i live close enuf...im in the navy and stationed out in san diego and just bought an 03 LY/B MCS with bonnet stripes and rally lights...ill be coming home soon and usually seen going up to Great Lakes Naval Station from time to time....but other than that i drove my parents 04 CR/CR MCS up there a few times....be nice to see some fellow midwestern owners out and about

Two in one day, whooho

Both were in Oak Brook. The first was a PW/B MC. It was going south on 83 by Oak Brook Mall. The other was a PW/B MCS with out bonnet stripes and the rear fog light. It was parked at REI in Oak Brook.

Wouldn't you know that the day I see these two, my wife and I are in her car Some times I feel PW MINIs are so rare to see on the roads around here.

 

Yesterday evening on Golf Rd, eastbound @ Elmhurst Rd to Golf Mill... spotted DS/B MCC. Hard to give/get a wave in the dark by Suicide-Circle . Last time I spotted the gentleman it was in the same stretch in a downpour in the Fall .

 

I love that bit of Golf Rd. I live in Saint Charles and work in Evanston... so on the very, very odd occasion that I decide drive, I take Golf just to hit the round about (with nav on!)

 

suicide circle at golf and rt 14 is less than a minute from my house, I tend to hit it often, often with multiple laps

 

I motor through the Circle twice a day, everyday to get to work/home. When traffic really drags going home, I get a kick out of the stares and grins . Can't wait for Spring !!!
