I've been neglectful this past week I saw several MINIs and got waves from a few. One was an R53 MCS at the corner of Kirk and Fabyan in Batavia. I'll try and keep more accurate records this week

 

Hey wow, I think that was me. I usually never get waves, but always anticipate. I take the same route every weekday morning, but I'll be in a LaB/B MCS now. I'll keep an eye out.

CR/W MC Northbound Countyfarm Road at Schick at 8:50
PS/B(?) MCS Southbound Winfield Rd, turning east on Warrenville at 9:10

 

Hey Mataku, was that you heading north on Gross Point beween Oakton and Main street at about 3:45 today?

I was walking so no wave..

 

Outside of the Galena drive, it's been dry for MINI spottings.

 

sure has... I've actually seen a few the last couple of days, but they were at a distance and I wasn't about to stalk them for a wave

 

Wednesday @ 3:45? no that wasn't me. I do head north around that time on other weekdays though. Was it the Laser blue/black MCS? Not sure if you'd be able to see next time, but I blacked out my side markers and removed the S on the boot, so easy way to tell if it's me, if color is not enough. I have not seen another laser blue/black MCS yet.

 

Got a hearty wave from a top down CR cabrio on Kirk near Fayban

 

I was motoring round Chicago yesterday (Monday, 10/15), and saw a few MINIs -- one CR/B with a vanity plate ending in 99, heading E on the Kennedy at around 3PM, and a PS/B about fifteen minutes later, also on the E Kennedy. I was in my SS/B, black bonnet stripes, with a few university stickers on the back.

 

Got a coffee cup in hand wave from a CR/W R53 MC this morning about 2 blocks from my house. Thanks

 

Followed a PW/B MCS WB on the Elgin/O'Hare Expressway at about 8:20 this evening. Waved (as he passed), but no return wave

 

Spotted a DS MCS with Wisconsin plates on Gross Point road just north of Oakton today at about 3:15

Another PW/B and I exchanged waves as we passed each other on Farnsworth between Rt 34 and Montgomery Rd in Aurora late this afternoon.

 

Why yes, that was me. I've been spotted! I think I was on my way to the Nikon repair shop at the time.

WHY DID I NOT SEE YOU!!!!!! GRRRRR!!!!! I have disgraced my MINI family! I must commit ritual seppuku now!!!!!

 

I was bicycling to pick my son up from school, so no MINI for you to see..

I'm glad to have spoted someone on NAM though..

I don't feel as bad now.

But I did see a couple of MINIs a couple of hours later, on my way to my parents' place. No waves, though. I'm only going to post sightings of wave-friendly MINI drivers.

Today at 11:30ish I spotted a LY/W MC with temp tags Westbound on 34 @ Farnsworth. I pulled up and he was on the cell phone, he looked over, I waved and got a VERY enthusiastic thumbs up. Welcome to the MINI Community. As he turned on to Farnsworth he honked and gave another thumbs up.

CR/B MC - [7:20 am] @ the light of Schaumburg Rd and Roselle Road. -- She was WAY too focused on the light changing..... I Guess my BRIGHT yellow truck scares some people when they look in the rearview mirror!!!!

 

Ok, so I'm not in the Chicago area - but my sister was transferred to the Great Lakes Naval Base a couple of months ago. My mom went to visit last week and was so excited to take these pics for me. Just thought it was too funny not to share.

10/22 saw red MC non s driving north on rt 59 in north barrington. Didn't really get a chance to wave =( as I had to steer and drink coffee at same time.

well technically not a sighting but i see a lazer blue mini mcs with white roof across the street everyday when i goto work at rt 59 and rt14 intersection. haha passed by today. I got a wave as i was turning and i made a quick wave back. Hope it was recieved

Saw two recently. I got a wave yesterday in the morning about 8:45am going down Howard by Gross Pointe. It was a blue MCS, but can't tell from the many blues out there, maybe Indi?

Also, I noticed one across the "street" from my school. I go to the Loyola Maywood campus and there's a building in the back where I saw a blue/black MCS with blacked out headlamp surrounds and grills and no holes front plate. With those type of mods, that person has got to be here.
