LOL...SWEET! WOOHOO!!! SO LET'S ORDER THE NEXT ONE and make changes! ha ha... Shall I stick with red? Shall I change it? I think I should add some things since we just ordered exactly what we test drove because we LOVED it...since reading, I have learned a lot.

One must always see the positive in the worst of situations.

It's fun seeing everyone else's progress! Track those boats you all!!!!

Thats a great attitude Aggie! Definitely take the opportunity to change/add/remove those items you wished you had before it was too late! I'd be putting the LSD and NAV systems in mine and keeping the rest the same (came up with some xtra $$).

That's cool Ssallykat! I guess you're the first one booked for this group. How did you find this Info? from inputting VIN on the WW site? When I try it says not found... but I am California bound so its not likely I'll know what ship he goes on til he's on it.

Have you talked to your MA yet? I was told they might be able to give you your ship name but mine says she cant. Keep me updated.

Hey guys, guess I'll join. I talked to MINI today and they said I was scheduled for completion today. Not sure when it is going out or even what route it takes to get to Hawaii.

Aloha.

I second Aggies comments! I am happy for the rest of you with the correct VIN!

It seems that everyone in the Mini world except the sales manager and the substitute MA at my dealer know about the VIN problem - even read about it on the Owner's Lounge forums. I do have a new production number thought, so here we go again. Rest assured I will study the 10th digit once I get the new VIN!

I re-ordered Basil the same as what I had wanted before, but was told I couldn't have (alloy patinia interior finish), all else the same. It might drive me into the deep end to start re-considering all the choices again.

Has anyone had any luck tracking their babies to the left coast?

Cheers,

Hi guys-I'm a week 36er but my MINI was completed today so I guess I'm really with you guys. I have a convertible and my VIN's 10th digit was a 7. I freaked out but when I called ASK MINI they told me I was given the wrong VIN and the correct one has a 6 instead. The weird thing is my new VIN had the same 5 last numbers as the old VIN. I was told that the last 5 numbers is a chassis code and is different in every MINI.Anyway I finished production today and I was told I would see my car in about "a month". That seema a little long. I live in Philly and bought my MINI in Princeton which is near New York. It shouldn't take that long from boat to dealer.Regards, Rich

Owner's Lounge info vs ASK MINI

The OL tells me I am scheduled for production. ASK MINI tells me (live person) that I have completed production and ready to be trained to the port. It appears that for me, the OL is way behind.

My 10th digit is a 9
My 10th numerical digit is a 7

I have my state code 'TN' stuffed in the middle.

Just glad it apparently is not one of the one's that was sent back. Another 25 days, they tell me.

YD

Mine has a TN also.. how does that tie with state? The digit they're talking about is the number before the T in TN.

Giants.... I have a note into my MA begging for ship data in the case that we don't get on a boat from the WW ports. Hopefully we get to sale this weekend... or shortly thereafter... I dread having to wait several weeks on the dock.

Make sure you nail them for 1000 dollars less than the deal you got last time.

Push them, they will push Mini then after

Hi I'm new here. I just found out that my mini cooper S is on the Patriot. I just tracked it and it is supposedly in South Hampton today with plans to be in New York on the 24th. I can't believe my mini is almost here.

Hi! I'm also new here and I just found out this morning that my MCSC was loaded on the Patriot as well. The WW wed site shows that the ship is bound for Charleston,SC.

Woohoo!!!!

Wow - Mini is da bomb! My Basil was part of the VIN mixup, so the dealer ordered a new one. Just for giggles, I looked up the old production number on OL, and found that Basil is on the dock waiting for a ride to the left coast, with a new VIN number and everything! I thought that our motoring days were going to be delayed for a couple more weeks....

Aggie - any update on your baby? Is yours a convertible also?

I can't stop grinning!!!!

Well crap...WHO IS RIGHT?????

Homer....Man. Do you think it's for REAL?? Have you talked to a MA?

I want it to be but I am not getting my hopes up. Because then if it's not correct I will be REALLY TICKED OFF.

I looked in the OL too (after seeing your post) and it says mine is 'awaiting transport' too but I was told that I would be getting a NEW production number and a NEW VIN and going in to production AGAIN. Is it wrong for me to assume that the OL is not current/not correct/not reflecting the Mini error???

OL uses my same production number and like you...one number changed in the VIN. Yes, mine is a convert.

I just want to puke. Why isn't there a smile that reflects me puking?

It was the best of times...it was the worst of times...

OL Says: Awaiting Transport

ASK MINI Recording: Awaiting Transport

MA says: You will get a NEW production number, a NEW VIN, and start production AGAIN.

ASK MINI LIVE PERSON: We are supposed to have you contact your Motoring Advisor but let me check. No, we show no information on your Mini and we are so sorry for the problems. We cannot re-VIN a car so the information in the OL is old and not reliable.

*BIG SIGH*....it's okay...what's another few weeks without my precious babypie.

lol... I have to laugh...otherwise I would go nuts.

Aggie - the live person at askmini says that it is on the dock with his thumb out. My (substitute) MA has been about as worthless as a lame hunting dog through this whole ordeal, but I will try later (he likes to sleep in). The OL shows my old production number with a new VIN (with a 6 in the 10th position), and the live person at askmini comfirmed the new VIN

This confusion is killing me - it's like being pecked to death by chickens.

Hope yours is moving soon! Let's keep our fingers crossed (hard to type with crossed fingers)

Here is the reply from my substitute MA on my question about production: "Actually your car wasn't one of the ones that got screwed up, so I think were getting two cars for you. But the second one was put in as a priority one."

What?!?! :impatient

I think I will go have a liquid lunch and try again on Monday....

I liked the red on a lot too, but the blue matches my contacts....

Waiting to be Assigned to a Shipping Vessel

Hi there,
This is my first post to our support grp. Thanks Giants9595 & jwardell for the Google links. Awesome! My Flo started production on 9/1/06 and completed 9/11/06. She arrived on the dock on 9/13/06, but is still waiting for her ship assignment. I'll keep checking. Maybe she'll be on the Patriot since she's supposed arrive at the Charleston dock. This is fun, but I'm not getting much done here at work.

Hi Sissy! We're waiting for boats too.. I think those on the Patriot are really week 36ers as if you look at the week 36 group threads they're loading up this week on the Patriot.... Those of us whose cars finished production since Monday haven't gotten on a ship yet, though one car has spot reserved so far!

Being on the west coast I've got a call into my MA to find out what he knows about expected ship names....

Aggiemini:

You can find out if you are on the Patriot by going to the Wallenius site.
Click cargo tracking, auto cargo, booking number. In the booking number enter "GBSOU454729" and click "track". This will give you a list of all the VIN Numbers that are onboard. There are 146 mini's.
I had an '07 Vin on my vert, but it was changed to '06. I'm onboard. Hope you are to.
