Thanks!

Thanks Mizer and Aggie. My MA is out of town for a week (probably driven crazy by anxious people waiting for their mini), so I could not follow up very easily with the dealer....

How does one find out what ship their car is on if it is not WW?

Thanks again - can't wait to try out the bottle opener!

If your ship isn't WW, what I've gathered from our support group, you can't really find anything else out. You have to be content that it's on a boat somewhere and try to be patient til it gets here. WW is the only line that offers a tracking service. Unfortunately, once your car leaves the docks, ASK-MINI has absolutely no more information. But if they say your car is in transit, there's nothing to worry about! It's on its way

Well, I found out on Sunday that Moe was getting built this week. I went away on vacation (to hurry the time!) so only called in once yesterday to find he's due to be completed on the 11th.. and the dude at Ask Mini says he just entered the body shop.. (I guess that's step one?)

Anywho.. I'm happy as a clam! For those in the "name your mini" discussion, mine has been Moe since I decided to for sure order a mini.. and so far besides a little gender questioning (Moe vs Mosie) hasn't wavered.. I think it just fits my vision of him... "happy, go-lucky fellow". Now to get my bonnet stripes ordered along with a few choice personalizations.. Gotta Make him MINE.

Hey, no problem! Maybe if you make it to the Dragon next year, we and our cars, whatever their names end up being, can meet!

I actually knew a girl called "Mo" once. Her full name was Marlowe, but everyone called her Mo. It suited her well.

Mo could also be short for Monique for a more feminine feel!

OH MY GOSH

I HAVE A VIN !!!!

IT IS ACTUALLY BEING BUILT!!!

*theme song from 2001 playing*

Says should be done by 16th and is in production today.

I wonder if that is accurate or very conservative estimate?

MCS
BRG/BRG no silver roof or skylight thing
Chromeline interior/exterior
all anthracite interior
HK stereo,
Front fogs
LSD
DSC

I would think that would get out faster like within the 4-5 day window and not a full week right?

shrugs

Thing is he's always been a guy and I got worried how he'd take it when I decided to go Hawaiian and put the Hibiscus bonnet stripes on (actually doing the u-shaped ones from asthetic creations)... but then a gal put them on her PW/B car and it added to the maleness... so Moe gets to be Moe.

My Jeep was a guy and my Z3 was/is a gal....

Grrr...they have no record of my car. lol...so I told them I was getting up to date reports as late as last week so YES, they DO have my car. It's being researched and I should be getting a call back. She said she'd never seen 'this' happen before....

Just what I wanted to hear.

Aggie, it will be fine. Im sure they will sort it all out. Try not to stress about it, i mean you know they have your car, because they have had reports on it before. They were probably typing it in wrong or something.

Keep us updated, and let us know why it didnt show up.

lost order

Aggie,

I got the same message last week - the automated AskMini says done on the 12th, but two different humans said "not in the computer" last Friday. I will try again later today and keep my fingers crossed....

Info from "ASK-MINI" seems to not agree each time I call.

I try not to call but maybe on Monday and then on Friday.

Today they said my baby is on the assembly line (somewhere) and will be finished on the 13th (lucky 13). Then they said to plan on about 25 days after the 13th for delivery to Nashville. I ordered on Aug 11 if anyone wants to play with the calendar and try to calculate anything. I'll keep posting when I learn more.

YD

Nice...so Aggie thought 4 hours and no returned call from ASK MINI was long enough. Called my MA in Houston (Mini of the Woodlands (they rock!!), who pulled up in info. and got the same error. THEN GUESS WHAT HE TELLS ME!!!!!!

They got a memo last week about some 06's that ended up getting 07 vin numbers and those cars are being pulled off, pulled back...whatever...because they can't send them though as is...don't meet manufacturers emissions guidelines...so basically, some people's cars will 'get the curtain' if you know what I mean. MA said that Mini is currently determining a 'nice incentive' to offer those people who will have to wait longer for their cars.

I don't know how many are involved.

He's researching my Mini and will call me back...

tick tock....

Nnnnnnnnnnnooooooo!!!

MA just called. Seems that LUCKY me, my Mini may be on the 'three pages of vins' that have been/will be destroyed and I will cut back in line to be rebuilt and put back in production. He said he'd call me later today with the official Mini report and tell me what nice 'thing' Mini will do for me for this nasty inconvenience.

Not so worried...I wasn't one of the poor souls that had their Mini sent back from the USA or pulled off the ship...guess it could always be worse.

I was only being assembled...sniff...sniff... I sure loved her/him. Anyone ever had a memorial service for their Mini...

I confused, but of course that is common for me.... if they just put the wrong (07) VIN on these cars, why can't they just replace the VIN plates with the correct platges at the receiving port?

He said something about the emissions wouldn't be up to the regulations if cars were left as is.

I hope Homer's not in my boat...he had a 'not in computer' comment too.
