D'oh!

Called the MA, he couldn't find it on radar either. Looks like Aggie and I are in the same boat (bad pun - sorry). The MA is supposed to call the regional person to get to the bottom of it - I told him about the VIN rumors on this site.

Aggie - let me know what they do to sweeten the pot, and I'll let you know the same. Let's push for something really cool....

They wouldn't tell me a production week number when I called...the guy had no idea what I was talking about. But my mini is supposed to be finished with production on Sept. 13 so I guess that would make me a week 37er????

yep Lisa, that makes you one of us. I get a finish date of today with the real spokesman at Ask MINI and tomorrow with the automated guy. I am TRYING really hard to wait til Tomorrow to talk to the real guy again... I want to hear.. its done! This has been a very long wait for me.. found the MINI I wanted July 1 or 2.. sold before I could make the deal to my liking. Ordered near exact duplicate on 7/23............. he's just now being finished up then has the long voyage to the California coast with a nice truck ride up north to San Francisco area...so I'm still going to be on the later end of this group.

Good luck eeniemini. Hope to hear that your mini is done tomorrow!

WW shows our mini booked on the Elektra. It hasn't arrived in southampton yet so there is a chance it could still switch ships. Scheduled to make it to NYC on 9/22.

Homer... still haven't heard from MA yet...but I called ASK MINI this morning just to see what they'd say. They say my VIN isn't on the destroy list but they still have no record of it .... ha ha ha....Will be curious to see what MA says.

1. It's floating through just fine and probably already done.

2. My car really doesn't exsist but they will keep telling me it does.

3. Maybe I should just order another one to drown my sorrows in... ha ha...

THEN I WOULD HAVE TWINS!!!!!!

Just spoke to ASK-MINI and the dude informed that "Fergie" is in the paint shop. Shucks! I was contemplating switching from HB to CB. Oh well, my wife and I will be proud parents regardless of "Fergie's" color, sex, race, creed, religion, etc.

Actually, according to the ultrasound (build sheet) "Fergie" will be a girl.

D'oh?

I haven't heard back from my MA either. The automated AskMini still says that today is the scheduled date of completion..... (fingers crossed). I think I will wait 'til the end of the day today to call again (both the MA and AskMini). The Mrs thinks I've lost it (she should know that that happened years ago) with all this mini obsessing....

Gee thanks AggieMini! Is there something wrong with all of us for acting the way we do about our MINIs? I never felt this way ordering "Fergie's" bigger brothers...BMWs.

Maybe I'm excited because this will be my first little girl?! Actually this is the first car I've ever named for that matter.

About 10 days from Southampton to the East Coast. This doesn't include time spent at the dock waiting for a boat; it's 10 days from the date your ship sails to the date it docks in the good ol' US of A. Congrats and good luck!

Aaaaargh!

More waiting for me. According to ASKMINI, there is a list of 147 cars that had the wrong VIN, and had to be scratched. Since the list came out (and Basil's VIN was not on the list), about a dozen other prospective mini parents have called to find out that their baby has been scratched also. Most of them seem to be cabrios. Was told to contact MA to reschedule. I sure hope they make some gesture toward calming down their customers who have had there motoring gratification delayed. I wouldn't mind the ipod adapter to be thrown in....

Congrats to the rest of the group that will graduate on time! Not that I'm jealous or anything

WOW Homer... so glad you posted! When I called ASK MINI this morning I thought, whew...we seem to be okay. But after your post, I called my MA.

He said Mini's still trying to figure out how to compensate us for our 'miscarriage' and that he hoped he'd be calling me by Friday to give me a new VIN number and details on the 'goodies'. Our cars would get put back in to production immediately. He said he's got 4 cars on the list....2 (one is me) in production and 2 that are getting pulled off the boat/shipped back. He said he thought it would only tack another week on to our wait.

And me too....Homer and I will be clapping and cheering you all on as you go in to labor and get your babies...pay no mind to us... lol...

Mmmm...an IPOD adapter...I could go for that too!

Homer...Let me know what you find out next and I will do the same!

Goodie! Goodie! Giants! How lovely!

There is a stickie ("How to Track Your Mini") at the top of this forum section...read it...inside out. It's fabulous and gives the ways to track your Mini...by boat. And I recall that there is one liner (?) that you cannot track across the water...but the others you can track! COOL, huh!
