Wow Aggie, I'm going to print out your post and hand it to the Mrs. She never listens to me!

Great to hear that your baby smells salt air also

Not too much longer and we should have a ship to try to track. Now I really have to get serious about selling old red and cleaning out the garage

Cheers!

thanks Rich...much appreciated!

Ah... Sissy...now don't you think since I had a 'miscarriage' and they destroyed my baby...that I should get a break? And if that means bumping you off, that's okay? lol....

Kidding. I just sent a mental message to my Mini and told it to sick to Flo like crazy glue to get her on a boat already....

What part of TX?

Another way to check if you're on the Undine is to go to Booking number and put in GBSOU454724. It will list the VIN#s of all 126 MINI's scheduled for transport on that ship. Good luck all.

How do you get the booking number? I have seen that for a couple of ships, and admire your detective skills. I'd love to know the booking number for the Isolde that is supposed to sail for Port Hueneme today (fingers crossed).

VIN hell

Aggie - right back at ya! The Mrs. thinks I've gone nuts about this whold tracking the car thing. Nice to have others that understand (because they are going through the same thing.)

This is the first fun car I've had since my 66 GT Mustang was stolen while I was in the JC back when the crust of the earth was cooling, and this is the first car I have ever special ordered, so I guess I'm a bit emotionally invested in Basil! It's killing me too, we are having typical SoCal fall weather (80 degrees and sunny), and my topless mini is a long way away....

Soon! We can do this!

Oh, since you put it that way, I guess you should get a break. Flo better quit messin round and stick to your Mini and not miss the boat. She's been on the dock since 9/13/06. She's coming to Cowtown, Purple Frog country. Go Frogs!!!!

Whew...that was just BEAUTIFUL what they did this weekend.

P.S. I just got a text message from my Mini...she's looking for Flo and promised she would be her travel buddy.

OK. wow. no one has a clue about how long it takes from leaving the factory to awaiting transport. No one has a clue about whether or not it left the factory even. THat sux. One in morning says it does, the other in evening says it hasnt arrived at port of exit. Mini dealer gets a printout that my car HAS NOT BEEN BUILT. Mini askmini people say the car has been built, was built 1 day less than maximum time allocated for it, is awaiting SOME FORM of transport, etc.

very frustrating.

After you punch in your VIN# and you get your ship confirmation go to track with booking # instead of VIN#. You get all the MINI VIN#s on the ship. If you still have a problem let me know

Here we go again.... I look at the new list of VINs booked and find one ONE digit off of mine.. OH the torture!!!

Here's a question... Can anyone point to a decoder/info type of piece that details each digit of the VIN? I know on my Jeep Each digit had a code about the build specs.. I'd love to see how that fits into the MINI.. For example my 5th digit is E.. this seems to be a changeable digit.. Also there is often an X just before the last digit (year digit) before the final alpha characters.... which again seem to be changeable for instance mine is TN yet there's TG and others... I know the last 5 numerals are unique to each car...

How did you figure out that a ship called Isolde is headed for Port Hueneme on the west coast?

I saw that ship was set to sail but didn't know its destination.. my day dream says Moe is aboard but Ask MINI says he's still sitting there at the docks and the reason he's not on one of the WW ships that are bording up is that he's the COOL MINI and he's gotta wait for the COOL ship.. LOL made me laugh... however his next statement is it takes 7-10 days to get a ship and my guy has been at the docks since the 13th.... I'm like umm they's guys bording now who been there same as Moe...

MAYYYYYYYYYYYYBE we Westies ARE on the Isolde!

Giants - I looked on the WW website for a schedule of ships going from Southampton to Port Hueneme, and the Isolde is (was) scheduled to leave today and arrive 22 days later in PH. There is a tab for ship schedule (I can't remember what heading it was under )

My MA says that no matter what you read on those enthusiast websites, Mini does not tell the dealer what ship our babies are on. This does not jive with what others have been saying, but I'm not ready to call my MA a teller of tall tales quite yet.

They may not tell the dealers but apperently others have found a way to verify what ship their MINI was on.Maybe the dealers don't want to do the dirty work. It does take time and effort.

More Undine info. Below is departure info for Undine from Southampton to New York. As you can see, trip lenght is exactly 10 days from departure from Southampton until arrival at New York. (Leaving 9/18/06-arriving 9/28/06)If you are on another ship, I would think trip time would be the same. I hope this helps all in our group. You guys going to the West Coast can get the info from the website.

Is anybody else's mini heading for the south carolina port? Just wondering what ship is heading that way. I tried putting my VIN # in the WW website but it's not reporting anything. I'm getting really anxious!! Thank goodness I have this support group...everyone else around me thinks that I have lost it.

It's from the same website that tells you what ship your MINI is on. When you get your ship confirmation click on the voyage number and the ship's voyage details come up. BTW- Lil Zip -Undine continues on to South Carolina. Check the website to see if your MINI is on this boat. If it is,you can check on arrival in South Carolina(10/3/96 I think)
