Production Week 37 (September 11) Support Group
The "dot" on OL has been sitting next to "Awaiting Transport" since 9/13. This morning it was sitting next to "Enroute" and that my Mini is adjusting to her sea legs.
So, I'm assuming she's on a ship.
Still not listed on WW; however, I'm sure someone has to manually update the database before we can see it.
Has anyone on the left coast gotten any word at all from either AskMini, the OL or their MA that their car is actually on a boat yet? It seems to this impatient person that a week on the docks is a wee bit of torture....
Also, I just wanted to take credit for the price of gas dropping like a stone. Whenever I sell a stock, the price rockets up. Since I decided to sell my 14 mpg suv to buy Basil, gas prices around here have dropped 50 cents a gallon.
That was part of my justification for a car payment to the Mrs. - we will save that much just on gas!

I could be COMPLETELY wrong however, but enroute and the description of enroute means off the ship done deal. Also, mini states and the faq on here states that mini has no clue after awaiting transport till it hits port of what happens
the WW place i hear is not the only oceanic shipping company that mini uses!
OL is delayed by about 3 days for me, so if you figure on 9/11 (bad day) your ship might have sailed, it actually could get to port in 9 days, and well... youll be getting your car shortly via trucking! just logic here no anecdotal or inside info.
The New Dictionary of Cultural Literacy, Third Edition.
Also can refer to after you get off a ship and are adjusting!
hm that's odd.
the description on mini is also nebulous and I bet intentional as they seem to refuse to explain about shipping over the ocean.
Isn't that that really annoying? They KNOW the exact ship and the exact moment it set sail, and the exact port and everything about the car. Yet, they refuse to tell us.
no one sends 4 dollars worth of cargo overseas without being able to get the exact info on the shipment. Imagine millions of dollars worth of cars!

I was wondering how many Mini customers are doing just what we're doing in the USA alone. How many of us discuss the arrival of our Minis to people at work, school, the neighborhood? Gotta be a BIG snowball. Good free advertisement. Mini Marketing at work.

Since I use Bill Gates Microsoft Project software at work to track aircraft mfg, I couldn't resist setting up a Project file to track Flo. The folks at work think I've lost my ever lovin mind.....
Here's Flo's status: Placed Order 8/25, Production started 9/1, Production complete 9/11, Flo released to carrier 9/12, Received at Port of Exit 9/13. Now's when the trail gets a little fuzzy. Supposing Flo really did catch a ride this morning, 9/20, she should arrive in Charleston NLT 10/4, complete vehicle processing on 10/6, arrive at Moritz Mini in Arlington on 10/10, one day for make ready? Maybe I'll take delivery on 10/12. Anyone want to wager a Starbuck's coffee? I'm wagering delivery on Saturday 10/14.

I'm already looking for some rims and I need you fellow week 37er's opinions. I'm definately looking for the deepest lip which is sometimes hard to achieve on smaller rims. I am looking to get 18s. BTW my cooper is a MCS in dark silver with a black roof. Will these silver rims look the best or would gun metal color rims look better? Would gun metal match the dark silver of the car well?? Is it a good thing to have rims that match the car? I like these four the best right now. Which ones do you guys like?

[QUOTE=El_Jefe;1141838]enroute means its already unloaded off of a ship and being carried by a trucking company!
If i read the quote on the OL correctly (doesn't happen very often), the enroute seems to be talking about enjoying the sea cruise, but anticipating getting to the dock, on the truck, etc. El Jefe - I hope your interpretation is more accurate!

Hey Giants.. your 3&4 are similar to what I had on my Z3 but changed out for what looks more like your 1st pic... so my vote is for 1... However, that being said.... here's an idea.. since you have black roof... my son has an 04 White Mustang GT.. he swapped out his wheels for ones that looked like your 3/4 but hte spokes were gloss black while the lip was chrome/bright silver.. it looks AWESOME on his car, not too dark but not overly chrome.. might be nice on yours.. gloss black spokes with polished silver lip...
Ummmmm, huh-huh!?
What gives?!
The ordering status for my MCS on OL just switched back to "Awaiting Transport"
Is ASK-MINI punishing me for having bugged them so many times?
Forget this, I'm gonna call once again!!!:impatient :impatient :impatient

Since I live in SC, I'm hoping it will translate into an early delivery. I know my car was completed on 9/12. When I check OL it says I'm still waiitng for the boat... :( I am hoping the site is behind and my car is on its way.
Homer does your dot say Enroute? I'm going to be so upset if Westcoast dudes go out and leave me behind.. :( Moe has been on the docs a full week waiting for a boat.. its so hard to wait. Today the guy said nope he's still there waiting.. I'm hoping its just a computer glich! LOL reaching I know.
Almost a week of seeing his little buddies drive up the ramp onto ships and leave him lonely on the dock.
No, us left coast parents seem to be the mushrooms of the group.
Ahoy, Shipmate! (Hopefully)

Sissy,
I placed the order for my MCS CR/B with Moritz on 8/22; production was complete and it was waiting for shipment as of 9/14
. When I talk to either of them I am told that it could take up to 10 days to get loaded onto a ship. I see on the WW site that there is a ship - Maersk Wind - leaving S. Hampton on 9/25 and due to arrive in Charleston on 10/04. You seem to have highly skilled tracking abilities and technology, could you share with me how you got the additional info on your baby? I'm going crazy for some good news :impatient! With any luck we will both be at Moritz on Saturday, 10/14!Thanks,
Wylie
