Well, the OL now says enroute, ASKMINI says the same, but still no confirmation on the WW site. Maybe she caught a stork for real. Riiight.
Good luck to all to get their MINI's home soon!

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh I Figure when one of us gets that dot moving we'll both be bording... Its awful waiting for more than a week after such a quick production. I was so surprised first that it was being built when it was, then that it was finished in 5 days.. only to sit and wait.. I guess perhaps my original "due date" of late November is going to hold up... hope thats not true since that would mean MOE is sitting at the docks catching seagulls for more than a month...

I know you guys are getting impatient to find out what boat you're on. When and if you finally find out use the ship tracking site to track your ship from Southampton to your port. It's alot of fun to see your boat's movement across the "pond".Undine left port yesterday and is passing by the English Channel on way to the U.S.It gives you a picture, sea conditions, wind, etc.Good luck all and hang in there,

I'm certain this has been asked before but, where are you guys going to track the boat? What site? Do you just enter in the vehicle VIN? Or what?

I see on the WW site that there is a ship - Maersk Wind - leaving S. Hampton on 9/25 and due to arrive in Charleston on 10/04. You seem to have highly skilled tracking abilities and technology, could you share with me how you got the additional info on your baby? I'm going crazy for some good news :impatient! With any luck we will both be at Moritz on Saturday, 10/14!

Thanks,

Wylie
Wylie, I talked with Jason on ASK-MINI. He gave me the leadtimes and told me that they lose track of our Minis once they get assigned to a ship. He said it usually takes 2 weeks to cross the pond. Once the Minis unload they go through a quality inspection that takes about 2 days. Then they are shipped by Overland Transport to our dealers. Jason thought this trip from SC to Arlington would take about 2 days. (Guess it takes longer to transport to the West Coast.... ) I'm assuming that Moritz would take a day to get the car ready for delivery. I added a couple of extra days to the string just because stuff happens sometimes.

I've checked my VIN a few times today on the WW site to see which ship we're on. Still no information. Let us know if you get a ship name. Maybe our Minis will be ship mates.

hi wylie & sissy

i ordered my MCS via Moritz as well. i put in the order on 8/21 and was sent to the port as of 9/18. i have been trying to get more info as whether it's left the port. so far, no luck...the OL still says "awaiting transport" and WW site doesn't show my vin on any of their ships either. this is so frustrating! i have yet to call moritz...i might give them a call if i don't see any movement by monday.

i saw the same schedule of the maersk wind leaving southampton on 9/25 on WW site BUT i also found out something weird.:impatient i got this link from one of the posts http://www.port-of-charleston.com/vessel_schedule.asp of the port of charleston schedule, and i couldn't find any of the maersk wind scheduled to arrive on the 10/4 (as stated on the WW site) or anytime in the near future. this kinda worries me i'm just keeping my fingers crossed that our babies are already on some phantom ship partying together! and let's hope that we won't have to wait for liberty (dep:9/29 arr:10/14) which will suck! do keep me posted if there's any movement...we'll most likely be picking up our little ones on the same day

All you eastcoasters are lucky. Out here in the west coast our sailing voyage takes 14 more days! Our Minis have a little bit more time to get sea sick.....I just want to get on a boat first though.

Just for giggles, we left coast parents can look at some stock photos of Minis sitting at the dock in Port Hueneme at www.portofhueneme.org.

In looking at their registry, there are only 3 shipping lines registered there - del monte, lauritzen cool and WW. The first two seem to be reefer ships bringing bananas and such to the left coast, which seems to leave only WW bringing cars. Just guessing here.... If true, that should make it easier for us left coasters to track our cars, once they finally get their little boots and bonnets on a ship.

Go to the sticky- How to track your Mini. At the end of the sticky there is a website you click on which allows you to track any boat. Just type in your boat's name and it's position will come up. If you then hit "plot" it will show your boat's exact position. Good luck

Help! My mini is lost! I called ask Mini this evening and the person on the phone told me that it was waiting for transport but now she is not quite sure where it is. My gut tells me he is still waiting at port, but I'm hoping that maybe he got on a boat and is starting to make the long trip over and avoiding getting sea sick.

I am unhappy with mini's lies that they do not know what ship one will be on and when. These things are accurate and timed, completely planned and regular. For some reason they choose not to keep the knowledge flowing, besides in giving highly inaccurate and butt saving estimates of when your car will arrive.

I normally am dreary, I bought the mini in BRG/BRG with chromeline as it felt dreary as well. Royal grey solid would also have been a good choice with heavy tints.

Lil Zip! EEKKK!! Have you heard anything yet?

I wouldn't worry YET...I mean...our baby was destroyed because of the VIN problem and it was rebuilt and on the docks before we ever knew about it...all the while, ASK MINI would only say they couldn't find our order.

Wishing you the best...

The awesome, gorgeous, outstanding, hunk of MINI rep at ASK MINI just told me... MOE IS AT SEA!! OL still says awaiting transport so it should update soon.. of course tracking the VIN on WW is not working so we're on a mystery ship but I don't care.. I just am so excited to hear he finally caught a boat!

Giants and Homer, give the live guy a call see if your sailing with me.

WOOO HOOOO....Looks like my Mini left the port on September 18th....since the voyage is 23-24 days that would make its landing date the October 12th. Anyone on the west coast know the name of our ship??

I was told the NYK Pegasus Leader by AskMini. Let me know if anyone on the left coast gets any better info from their MA.

NYK does not have much on their website to track ships that I could find, and had no luck on the other tracking website, so I am in the process of signing up at aislive (see tracking sticky for address) to see if I can track Basil!

Welllll..... I Never!!!!!!!!!!!!

Giants, Homer, Eenie and others!!!!!!

So VERY exciting to hear your progress!

Honestly, with all the troubles with ASK MINI...since they haven't been able to give me a reliable 'update' since they destroyed my baby...I stopped calling ASSUMING they would never be on the ball. But after all your posts I got curious. MA told me last week it had been rebuilt and was waiting for a boat and he'd be in touch. He hasn't.

I JUST CALLED ASK MINI AND GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!! My precious little chunk of metal has been sailing since SEPT 15th!!!!!!!!! And it's wretched mother hasn't been following it at all...for an entire week! lol... It's on the WW line but ASK MINI (Jeff) couldn't give me a boat name. Set to hit USA on Oct. 1st.

THANK YOU FELLOW NAMers for your posts...otherwise I wouldn't have called and checked....

The obsession begins again

My MA tells me his internet source tells him that my MINI is being loaded on a ship today.

Ask Mini (automatic response or real person) tells me nothing.

According to the WW site the next ship out, which is probably the one I'm getting loaded onto is the Maersk Wind, scheduled to leave on the 25th. Assuming it gets loaded at all this time.

How do I get a bill of lading to confirm if my Mini is onboard?

I wish MINI would have never set up all this tracking stuff. I'm going to quit trying to figure out the arrival and just wait till my MA contacts me.

YD
