Yup. Its a crayon smelling heavy wax that they spray liberally on the cars to protect them during transit.

I hear that if you do the first wash with Dawn (dishwashing liquid) that it takes the goop off. Pretty sure I read that in the "detailing" forum. Check there before you do it though...I could be wrong!!!

BTW, that CR/B MINI looks bbbeeeeeoooootiful!

 

+1 on the 1st wash with Dawn, but just remember to wax your car after. Dawn strips all wax off of your car.

My cheeks hurt from smiling so much today! I am exhausted though. Awake at 5am, and got home about 10pm. Met my new Motoring Club at the dealership, and we all went out for dinner and had a meeting. Fabulous day!

Now I'm off to dream about twisty roads, and accelerating into the turns....

Thanks everyone!! OK, so I am obsessed. I washed her this morning, and after I took pictures, I got in the car to put her in the garage. Well, something came over me, and I went zooming out of the driveway for a quickie 5 minute trip on our twisty road. I have so much stuff to do today, but all I wanna do is MOTOR!

We're supposed to wash them? No one told me! But I have an excuse....due to the constant on and off rain, I haven't had a chance. Am I forgiven?

I've been reading over everyone's latest posts as I sit here on the phone (big project at work coming to an end). Seems that there has been a ton of deliveries these past 2 days! Congrats everyone. They all look awesome!

I've got to get some pictures taken...but the weather here is just not cooperating....

So far driving stick shift is going well, only one embarassing moment so far, repeated stalling at a stop sign...just couldn't get it going.....broke down to tears thinking I'm going to break my MINI somehow, and saying I should have just bought an automatic......then realised I had it in third gear..... *sigh* Needless to say, got it going first shot once I put it back in first. My dad got a kick out of it....laughing his head off, after the fact, I did laugh too

That happened to me getting out of Toronto. I was the first car at the lights turning left and when I got the green I stalled 3 times in a row and missed the light! The guy behind me was waving his arms around in fit of rage. I looked at him in my mirror and just shrugged. It was pretty embarrassing.

I think I had the stick not quite in first and out of neutral so I think that was the problem. The car died as soon as I hit the friction point. I could have been in third though. I don't remember.

I've since stalled the car dozens of times. Mostly on hills. I'm still a bit too easy on the gas for some hills. I'm getting a lot better though. Only stalled it once on a steep hill yesterday.

 

My fiancee is having the same difficulty with her MINI... She is having a difficult time getting used to the friction point and then trying to ignore all of the drivers behind her...

 

I just added two to my gallery. We picked it up on Thursday from Knauz. It's been great so far!
