That's Tex, one of our cats. He really likes the car.

So my wife does not like the name. How about Stanley or Hitchcock?

Thanks, the cat will be pleased. He's a lover.

SR - sunroof, LSD - Limited Slip Differential(helps with the famous S torque steer), oops it supposed to be MFSW - Multi-function steering wheel. It's a little silly, the radio is right there but I really like it.

I signed up for both a while ago ;-). I've had my CMMC sticker on my work-issued MacBook Pro for a month or so already (Chicago Mini Motoring Club; http://chicagominiclub.com/). I'm going to Chicago MTTS Friday night, and all day Saturday (including the drive from Lincoln Park to Wisconsin, etc.). Not sure about Sunday.

I hear ya. I drove into the T.O. downtown core on Wednesday morning. Haven't driven a stick in about 15 years, and had forgotten about the "clutch goes in....clutch goes out....clutch goes in....clutch goes out" that you have to put up with in stop and go traffic. Don't worry about the stalling out - you'll quickly get the hang of it and it will become a thing of the past. I used to teach people to drive stick in High Park. Lots of hills. By the time they left, they were experts.

Happy motoring!

Wish I could find a place that gives lessons around the Chicagoland area. May be easier on the Mini if my wife learns on someone else's car

I'm not going to even attempt to teach my wife - it would end our marriage. We have a place around here call "Shifters" that teaches people to drive sticks. I believe that they have their own cars, and for that reason alone, I'll pay them whatever they want.

No doubt! I'd do the same, but it looks like they're only up your way.. I'll send them an email and see if they know of others in my area...

ON the way to the pick-up in a couple of hours.

My favorite pipe tobacco is "Tashkent". I'm thinking "Tasha", if a girl, "Kent", if it's a boy.

Excited !!!!

We're going to have lots of new picts today.. My pickup is less than 4 hours away

Now just have to settle on a name... Almost all green with chrome.... Thinking "Zilla" (someone here said that), Yoda (small, green, and a lot faster than you'd guess!), etc. etc.... Hmmm... Decisions...
