I'm confused,I called Ask MINI on Friday and the automated message said it wasn't in production yet.

But your saying it is in production and to be completed June 2.

I think I need to call and talk to a real person.

Since ASK-MINI is just a part of the BMW USA offices, I'm pretty sure they have the day off. Your MINI dealer is closed today? I would think they would want to take advantage of the holiday and let people see how cool they are as summer driving, beach cruisemobiles!

I got through to Ask MINI about an hour ago. Make sure you're using 1-866... I made the mistake of using 1-800... and kept getting busy signals.

week 23 folks, think of this:

1) The longer you wait, the more money you save: a) no expenditure b) no sales tax c) lower property tax on the old heap d) lower insurance costs on the old heap
2) The longer you have to change your mind (I called the dealership on Sat. and added LSD) Others have changed their color (or colour) .
3) The longer you have to check out the prices and possibilities on: bolt on options, mats, car wax, fuzzy dice, and other ways to expand the amount you spend. and finally:
4) The opportunity to demonstrate your maturity by waiting for something really, really nice. Like your significant other.

OK, so some of this is tongue-in-cheek, but I also have to convince myself; I hate to wait....
"Not scheduled for production". But it will be next week!

I'm in Week 23 too. I think??

Hi Week 23 People!

Went to my dealer this morning (May 26) and ordered my first MINI! Very excited! Pepper White Clubman S. My dealer punched the order in and gave me a printout "Vehicle Inquiry Report" with my car and my name on it. It has a Production number and states Priority 1 - Customer Sold. He said I was in Week 23 with production starting June 8. Delivery in Mid July. Port is NYCPOA. I'm in Annapolis, Maryland.

I came home and tried to register using the production number on the vehicle report, but it comes up as a dark silver Cooper Clubman S. So I didn't go further with the registration in the Owner's Lounge.

I'm kinda surprised that my vehicle was going to come in as fast as he said. Does this sound kosher? Why would a different color vehicle be assigned to my production number? Any thoughts? STILL VERY EXCITED!!!!

Give it a couple of days. Initial production info at MINI may be incorrect. Especially if it was just a few hours old! Could well be that they had an order cancellation (or they had a spec on order) and they put your order in place.

Welcome richs10! That's mighty quick turnaround for a Clubman S- you are fortunate. Don't worry about the info on the Owners Lounge. It will take at least 24-48 hrs to update . The dealer assigns you one of its allocated slots, then modifies the stock order to match what you want. Did you order right there in town?

I think June 8 puts you right at the end of week 23. I'm actually week 21 or 22, but was given this date at some point. It's all rather fluid and confusing

Thanks, Goatman. Your post makes me feel much better!

I guess I did get lucky with my dealer's allocation slots. At first he was saying week 26. Then we got into a discussion of the value of my trade. Then he said he found a slot in week 23. Moving it up 3 weeks got me off the mark! I don't know how their system works, but maybe he moved me up to get me to do the deal. If so, it worked!

Yes, I ordered it from Annapolis MINI (formally, Tate MINI. They were recently sold) Seem like a good bunch of people!

I'm another "Kinda 23" member. We were initially in week 23 (ordered in mid April) but got moved up to week 21. Of course since we're in Denver and the travel time from Oxford to Denver is a lot longer than to the east coast, some of the 23ers may be driving their MINIs before me!

SPF, I guess I got in on the tail end of Week 23. We will see where it goes from here. I assume they truck your MINI from NY to Denver, huh? But that's a lot better than being on the west coast! I've always been able to buy a new car off the lot or as a transfer from another dealer. This is the first time I have ever ordered a car from the factory, so it's all new to me!

It's also the first time I have paid "full boat" for a new car too, but I guess that's the price for 30 -35 mpg. Since I am currently getting 13.5 mpg with my Dodge Durango R/T, that's also gonna be a new experience!!! A fill up tonight cost me $74.00. Sheesh!

Actually, we're 1700 miles from NYC and 1000 from LA, so we take the slow boat from Southampton to Port Hueneme, then get on a truck to drive back east to Denver. It adds about 2 weeks of ship time instead of a couple of extra days on the truck. I'm hoping to have delivery around July 4 (production completion is May 28).

If I missed anyone, just smack me upside the head and I will fix it.

East Coast Charleston folks. I had previously just been aggregating everyone at Charleston. I backed out those who had identified themselves as having a SSIPOA. A lot of this will sort itself out once production commences and cars are assigned to ships.

Just six days to go!

I ordered my mini a few weeks ago May 17th. The dealer said that I am scheduled for wk 24, but has recently seen a lot of their Clubmans go into production a week early so that may put me into week 23. Here is hoping for week 23.

Per ASK-MINI, I have a status of Daily Production Pack dated yesterday, whatever that means. And the voice at the other end said that I was a week 23 or 24 build. ??? Where did that slop in production come from?

I guess I will be calling again tomorrow.

Ok so stupid question... When my hubby called ASK-MINI on Sunday and the automated system said I was scheduled for production and will be completed June 2nd doesn't that bump me up to week 21 or am I counting wrong?? By the way my owners lounge is 100% accurate and has been this whole time... I wonder how that works (why some are and some arent acurate). Anyways, am I right in my counting? If so I will be SOOOO excited!
